Mother's day

First of all, Happy Mother's day to all of the true females IRL (even the ones whom don't have children). I say this because it's a tradition that a church that I used to attend did, and I thought that it should still be brought out.

Second, what did you all do for Mother's day?

I gave my mother two gifts: http://www.thinkgeek...s/science/edb1/ and http://www.thinkgeek...ce/lights/eba5/

The Ordo Experience

I have to say has been the best SL war experience that I have experienced, the infantry is well trained, the Air Force delivers proper airstrikes, and everyone seemed to be on one accord. I have never had so much fun getting blown up and sniped by the men and women of this military. When I first arrived I expected something to be generic and repetitive, but the tactics changed over time delivering a new experience with each death I have received. Though I have to say, the most memorable moment there was when I grabbed the frag BMP [[Noobish I know.]] and aggressively attacked the Ordo infantry, was that not a Kodak moment, when you would see rockets and bullets flying from every angle, and then to actually push past them and chase them down with the tank was even more of a experience for me because usually I get ambushed and have to devise a different plan each go around. Ordo is one of the most well defended places there, I remember when random people just started entering and I look on the map and see everyone just closing in to prepare for a firefight, this military is pretty well organized and put together.

I thank the OIC: Zerowinged Vasiliev for allowing me to give the Ordo Infantry and Air force something to do. Because this fire fight between Ordo and Yoko did not stop until 5:57A.M. lol too bad they only give you 90 mins in your lone to firefight because that experience was great. In 7 days I hope to send in another application and actually make it into one of the best military Sims.

Headphone / Headset Recommendation

So my Logitech H555 has been gradually falling apart for a few months now, it's still a good headset, but I plan to replace it in the near future.

I've been looking at a few, but I've not really decided what I want, maybe the G330?
Below though is what I'm looking for in a new headset.

Logitech (preferred)

Volume control on cord (not needed, but nice)

Would like a wireless option

If wireless, it needs to be rechargeable and/or have plugin capability.

Preferred 3.5mm primary with a possible 3.5 > USB option.

Wrap around the head design.

(Feel free to use this thread for any future input on headphone/headset devices)

Eventually I am planning on getting two video cards in SLI configuration. Please post your comments on your opinion of this build, and please do not turn this into an AMD vs. Intel or AMD/ATI vs. nVidia. I am wanting to make a reasonably priced gaming-class PC, under $1000, with blu-ray support, and 1TB Hard drive minimum, and at least a quad-core processor (no single, dual, or tri-core).

Also, if you want to recommend something less expensive than this build, please show it to me.

Inside the USS Arizona

This is a fantastic video taken inside the USS Arizona with the help of a remote controlled miniature submarine while the wreck was going under analysis in preparation for preservation and fuel oil extraction. Most of us here are, no doubt, familiar with what happened to the Arizona while she laid in port at Pearl Harbor. Those of you who don't: She was hit by a high altitude, high velocity Japanese bomb that penetrated several decks and landed in the forward ammunition magazine. On detonation, the ships magazines exploded and effectively broke her spine, causing her to sink. As the ship sank, American sailors inside and outside of the stricken ship continued resistance with whatever arms available, a futile but extremely courageous effort against faster flying Japanese planes.

1,177 US sailors died at their posts and the ship is a designated war tomb and diving the area is against the law unless one is granted special and rare permission by local administration.

In early 2003, talks about preservation efforts began. Even though it's a war tomb, the ship holds several thousand units of live ammunition for a variety of calibers and huge amounts of fuel oil. As is the nature with all things in water, the hull of the ship has begun degrading at such a rate that it may spill that fuel oil any time. Small amounts of it are already leaking daily and it is a danger not only to the wildlife in the area, but the local population, the port and the Navy. The rear magazine is also still at capacity and while it is unlikely that it'll explode because it's under water, having dozens 14 inch shells underneath a memorial where thousands of people go to is considered a health and safety risk.

In this video, a ROV is lowered from the memorial above the Arizona to the stricken ship below. It navigates through the corridors and rooms of the ship with the help of an operator, giving us an insight into what daily life on the Arizona was like, what condition the ship was in on that day of infamy and what condition she is in now.
