  1. An Observation is an Observation. If Ookami felt the need to post it here, as is his right as a member of Ordo, then I'm sure Ookami felt a need to have his concerns voiced publicly for the rest of Ordo to see. Take heed and Respect his words. Do not challenge them.
  2. One of the biggest problems that we have on Defense is people not knowing when to shoot, or are afraid to shoot someone that comes in the HUB. Ok. Simply put. If you're not OIC, you dont worry about A-C, and Mercury handles Civilian notices for us (<3 Mercury) The first half of the first line is basically a You shoot until told not to by the OIC. People who you know not to shoot. Aryte Ordo Mercz Civilians If None of the above matches, your job is to shoot them in the face the moment they stray into your crosshairs. There is no asking if you should shoot, what you should do, nothing. You shoot them in the Face. If they're Threat level 5 (Mercury lets us know this <3 Mercury) Mercury sets off an alarm. This means that you dump the whole magazine into their face, reload, and empty that one as well. Because when Mercury is not happy, You are not happy. (Mercury, Belvoed by All) Example: [15:48:17] Mercury: Titan entry:Name: Lume Shuffle [ SilverHawks - Threat level: 5 ] This person could be Dressed as *insert deity of choice here* Unarmed, waving a white flag with a peace symbol on it, Surrounded by a flock of fuzzy kittens drinking from saucers of milk and mewing to the tune of 'Give Peace a chance' Shoot them in the face. and treat the kittens as score multipliers. [16:22:45] Mercury: Titan entry:Name: Jeffery Worbridge [ Unknown - Threat level: 4 ] Dont Ask. Shoot. OIC will say to hold fire. That's their job. Not yours. Example 2: Arch Graves, Erebus High Command shows up in the Spawn. They are Unarmed, out of tag, out of Uniform. Mercury denotes that they are Erebus and Threat Level 5. What do you do? A: Ask OIC For Instructions? B: Contact them and ask what they're doing? C: Shoot them in the Face. D: Pick Your Nose. ɔ :ɹǝʍsuɐ The only time you do not shoot them is when the OIC Says not to shoot them. Do not ask the OIC. The OIC will tell you. Untill then, you shoot, reload, shoot. If they get shot, and the OIC did not say hold fire, then you're doing your job. Dont let an enemy get past you or shoot you because you're asking for permission to shoot them. You already have it. You need Permission to Stop shooting them. TL;DR Go back and read it. Remember. When Mercury is Happy, You're happy.
  3. GL to all the Applicants. The Trials were some of the best times I had in Ordo.
  4. well,it is quite the pain im the ass but I seem to be able to view and post on the boards with this thing. yay free 3g.
  5. [18:02:22] Aryte Vesperia shouts: Obligatory starter, as always: welcome to this week’s meeting. Per the norm, please be certain to hold all questions and comments until provided the opportunity to speak. Interruptions will result in dismissal from the gathering. When you are provided the chance to speak, be sure to /shout/ your comments or questions—otherwise the recorder may not hear you. Thank you: let’s get to it. [18:02:24] (COM): Mark Karlfeldt: oops [18:03:03] Sambakza Resident (Channel 1): sling [18:03:16] Aryte Vesperia: We will try to keep this fairly curt, as it is still a “holiday.” However, several topics to cover. That saaaaid . . . [18:03:54] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Members: 311 Cadets: 10 Applications New: 15 Accepted: 2 Denied: 7 Review: 6 Combat Defensive: 95 (how the fuck did we manage that with three holidays in this period? Lol) Offensive: 9 (this too.) Allied Assist: 0 [18:04:27] Aryte Vesperia: Oops-- note on apps: two in review now, four additional accepted. [18:04:55] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes for this week: Ordo Imperialis forces have spearheaded a series of counter-assaults on Erebus early this week. After significant victories for the Ordo and an unrelated grid-banning of an Erebus officer, Erebus called for a ceasefire to regain their bearings. The cease fire expires as of today. Ordo will immediately be going back on the offensive. Thank you to everyone involved in these early morning /late night escapades—especially Ron Bleac, who has masterminded the efforts to keep Erebus on the defensive during our twilight hours. [18:05:59] Aryte Vesperia: As a side note: it must be recognized that those of you who’ve stuck around for the long nights have been integral to keeping the Ordo Imperialis in proper presentation, even during hours SL combat is traditionally dead. It is extremely appreciated. Without you, we’d really be left without the ability to keep the battles rolling. As the winter break period begins to wind down, it is likely that our overall activity, even in these hours, will start to pick back up again. As such, some reinforcements will be available to help push the envelope even further. [18:06:31] Aryte Vesperia: As a side, side note. TAC seems to hate Erebus more than they hate us. Somehow. [18:06:44] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this evening? [18:06:46] Nrom Normandy raises his hand for Astra. [18:06:47] FireFox Breed rises paw for Terra. [18:06:52] Aryte Vesperia: Normandy, for Astra? [18:06:59] Nrom Normandy: Happy New Year Ordo. I hope your holidays have been safe and merry. While the end of the week has been quiet, it have some notable Astra activities to discuss. [18:07:10] Nrom Normandy: On Wednesday we had a little change from how we normally handle training events for Astra. Terra was given wings. Based on the reports, I can see that it was successful in changing some misconceptions about Astra's role in combat operations. I hope all Terra soldiers who had an opportunity to participate have taken away something from the experience. If any of you are still able to use Predators, let us know as that access must be removed. [18:07:26] Nrom Normandy: Ron Bleac, Trinity Heckroth, Corsi Mousehold and myself had some bombing runs on Erebus Initiative this week, but it lasted a day before they closed down for repairs and to fix their equipment. Thank you for leading that, Ron. Expect that the bombings will continue once they let us back in. Ron has a week of vacation ahead, after all. [18:07:46] Nrom Normandy: We had training completed this week. Thanks to DarkHades Demonia and Sebris Montpark for doing this - Ayaka is almost ready to move into a flight. Unfortunately, DarkHades decided to transfer back to Terra. We wish him luck. Ravenstevenski Blindside was added to the roster today and needs training as well. I know I still have some instructors that need phases observed, so let's get this done. [18:08:06] Nrom Normandy: 2010 is behind us. It has been a difficult year for our division. The problems we encountered have not been corrected, but it is 2011 now. As I told Ethan, it is a prime number year. This is unique, and we should cherish the time ahead. This will be a successful year for Astra. It's not a matter of survival, but destiny. Keep your eyes to the sky, Ordo. [18:08:26] Nrom Normandy: This concludes the weekly Astra report. [18:09:08] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Additional reports for this evening? [18:09:25] FireFox Breed raises his paw from his side, leaving it high above his head to signal for attention. [18:09:32] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Breed, for Terra? [18:09:42] FireFox Breed: From Teron for Antesignani: With Ante, as before - the holidays are keeping things fairly quiet still, expecting activity to pick up this coming week. The squad engaged in some of the Ordo trainings and as always, offensive and defensive operations. Nothing else major to report currently, Happy New Year from Antesignani. [18:09:50] FireFox Breed: From Krow for Insidiae: Activity is fairly low, as to be expected from the holidays. We have been actively looking to recruit, so if you're eligible, come on down to Insidiae! We have multiple spots open. Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year, guys. [18:10:03] FireFox Breed: From Eriksson for Invictus: Another slightly slower week as Christmas winds down and New Years draws closer. We plan on getting back to full activity beginning next week with many planned raids and trainings. Otherwise, short report is short. We wish everyone a happy New Year! See you all in 2011! Cheers! [18:10:12] FireFox Breed: From Thatguy for Cohors B: Activity still a bit slow as the holidays are commencing. Switched out two of our CO's, Tsukiyomi Yuhara will be taking Eriksson Foxtrot's postition as the CO of Century I, Victrix. Williamca Zenovka will be taking Hollowmengitus Yifu's position as the CO of Century III, Liberatrix. With the new year in place, Cohors B will start to boost up activity as well as come up with some cool ideas to boost moral and activity within the Centuries. Happy New Year, Ordo. [18:10:42] FireFox Breed: For me, I am sick as hell and I drank over $200 woth of booze over 2 days. So Yea that is all. [18:11:27] Aryte Vesperia golfclaps. [18:11:31] Aryte Vesperia: Any additional reports? [18:12:16] Aryte Vesperia: Final call. [18:12:48] Aryte Vesperia: All righty, moving on then. [18:13:08] Aryte Vesperia: I. Holidays [18:13:34] Aryte Vesperia: Today is .. pretty much the last holiday day for a long while! So enjoy the free time and eerie quietness. Starting tomorrow, we're back to normal grind in a new year. [18:14:11] Aryte Vesperia: Frankly, I am quite excited to see what January and 2011 bring for us. If last years were any indication, the next few months will see dramatic rise of activity until a summer explosion. [18:14:32] Aryte Vesperia: Our next several months will really be geared toward preparing /for/ summer. Summer is .. ridiculous for the SL combat community. [18:15:24] Aryte Vesperia: Moving right along: [18:15:33] Aryte Vesperia: II. Rank name modifications. [18:16:06] Aryte Vesperia: As voting has determined, the rank names will be modified. We’ve left this hanging in limbo for a couple of weeks by accident—however the time has permitted some modification to existing documents that used the old rank names. After the new list is rolled out, please notify me if you run into any documentation that utilizes the outmoded list. For clarity, E-1 to E-8 and O-1 to O-5 will still be valid: there is no structural change, just name revisions. [18:16:43] Aryte Vesperia: Any questions regarding that? [18:17:33] Aryte Vesperia: Very good: [18:18:00] Aryte Vesperia: Fashionably late. Yes, Iredell? [18:18:38] Krow Ames shouts: (Shout plz?) [18:18:54] Jayce Iredell shouts: Why can't we use easy to understand rank names that are more modernly themed, I realize we want a roman theme but not everyone speaks or cares to speak latin? [18:19:20] Aryte Vesperia: Because that option was overwhelmingly rejected when the voting option was available. [18:19:31] Aryte Vesperia: Any additional questiond? [18:19:59] Aryte Vesperia: Questions, rather. [18:20:34] Aryte Vesperia: All righty. Movin' along. [18:20:42] Aryte Vesperia: III . Achievement system. [18:21:24] Aryte Vesperia: Now for the big topic this evening. For several weeks now, I’ve been chewing on a sort of achievement system. The idea is that, although Armatura and Schola provide technical detail and some combat practice, and promotionary exams provide some information about command functions . . we really need more opportunity for individuals to press their combat skills to the maximum. [18:22:53] Aryte Vesperia: Ludi was originally intended to fulfill this role. However, as we’ve all seen, the Ludi is pretty rarely utilized. So I’ve come up with a way to not only empower the Ludi, but give everyone a voluntary opportunity to earn special achievements and push themselves to further heights: the Achievement Rating Tiers (ART). [18:24:43] Aryte Vesperia: Although the details are still being worked out (and will likely be fleshed out further after this meetin’), the basic idea is as follows: [18:24:56] Aryte Vesperia: Utilizing the Ludi academy infrastructure, ART will provide award to individuals who push forward to higher learning voluntarily. The intended goals are to both provide a system of rating to allow for more fluid recruitment into elite stations and designation of prowess within relative form. [18:25:38] Aryte Vesperia: ART and Ludi are not one in the same. However, they are complimentary in importance. ART is a rating scale, utilizing Ludi-like courses as learning material. ART testing and scoring, however, is entirely proprietary to the system. As such, if by chance an existing Ludi course is included in the ART, passing that Ludi course does not substitute any examination for rating within the ART. [18:26:51] Aryte Vesperia: The ART is separated into two categories: Combativeness and Indoctrination. Combativeness is self explanatory—it focuses on shaping the warrior talents within Ordo members, providing designation of combat expertise through trials and real-time feats. Indoctrination is a rating of an individual’s mindset, predisposition, and embracing of group ideals. [18:28:05] Aryte Vesperia: Prerequisite to participate in either tier is achievement of the rank of [E-3]. This is based upon the belief that prior to [E-3]; an individual should be focusing entirely on their Armatura and internal training regimens. In addition to which, [E-3] is viewed as the last rank before command responsibilities begin to engage—as such, any member can achieve and maintain the rank of [E-3], regardless of wishing not to be in a command role. [18:29:04] Aryte Vesperia: An individual may participate in both Combatives and Indoctrination at the same time and entirely at their pace. Furthermore, there is no negative repercussion or mandatory requirement to partake in either. Tracking and administration of ART falls under the IEA, with direct reporting to the IEA command. [18:30:08] Aryte Vesperia: Combatives and Indoctrination are separated into three tiers each. Tier 1 being the lowest and tier 3 being the highest. Each tier must be completed in order: an individual cannot go from tier 1 to tier 3. Completion of a tier will result in a special award that is displayable with all uniforms. [18:31:12] Aryte Vesperia: These are tentative, but provide an example as to the “levels” and potential designation awards: [18:31:25] Aryte Vesperia: >> Combatives - Tier 1 (Neophyte): Red beret. - Tier 2 (Aspirant): Blue beret. - Tier 3 (Myrmidon): Green beret. [18:32:36] Aryte Vesperia: >> Indoctrination - Tier 1 (Neophyte): Single chevron leg band. - Tier 2 (Aspirant): Double chevron leg band. - Tier 3 (Myrmidon): Three chevron leg band. [18:33:43] Aryte Vesperia: What’s left to do is really put together “what” constitutes each level of accomplishment. Thaaat will take some time to piece together, but we hope to get this online ASAP. [18:34:18] Aryte Vesperia: Questions thus far? [18:34:21] Bizcut Vanbrugh raises hand [18:34:22] Kiki DeAllura (corsi.mousehold) raises his hand. [18:34:29] Aryte Vesperia: Vanbrugh. [18:34:38] Bizcut Vanbrugh: more of a observation really [18:35:09] Bizcut Vanbrugh: but since Combative is a motion based event and Indoctrination is a thinking thing [18:35:17] Bizcut Vanbrugh: it seems that the items are backwards [18:35:52] Aryte Vesperia: I'm not sure I understand what you're saying? [18:36:00] Bizcut Vanbrugh: well you think with your head [18:36:03] Lord Killjoy The Obliterator (arokh.takakura): He means the hat, for thinking. [18:36:10] Aryte Vesperia: Oh. Lol. [18:36:11] Bizcut Vanbrugh: a hat is a head covering [18:36:13] Krow Ames shouts: shout plz? [18:36:25] Bizcut Vanbrugh shouts: sorry [18:36:40] Aryte Vesperia: Mousehold? [18:36:43] Kiki DeAllura (corsi.mousehold) shouts: I noticed that some of the berets have matching colors to current squad colors. Won't that create a bit of confusion? [18:37:26] Aryte Vesperia: Potentially. Thankfully I have a manslave named Disembodied who can modify the beret colors quickly. [18:37:40] Aryte Vesperia: Additional questions? [18:37:48] Kiki DeAllura (corsi.mousehold) facepalms .... "Thank you sir." [18:38:35] Tsukiyomi (tsukiyomi.yuhara) raises hand [18:38:43] Aryte Vesperia: Yoohar-a? [18:39:04] Tsukiyomi (tsukiyomi.yuhara) shouts: How is this different from merits other than hat/bands vs badges? [18:39:44] Aryte Vesperia: Wearable with all uniforms, mostly. [18:40:03] Tsukiyomi (tsukiyomi.yuhara) shouts: o.o; ok [18:40:46] Aryte Vesperia: Complimentary merits could be added, but, eh, it just gets boring to keep adding merits. It's a less redundant display. [18:41:00] Aryte Vesperia: Final call for questions? [18:41:47] Aryte Vesperia: Righto. Last comment from me: [18:42:09] Aryte Vesperia: IV. Utilizing the titles awards in place. [18:42:57] Aryte Vesperia: .. that about explains it. Thus far, we’ve really not made any attempt to utilize the honor titles. The ART will help in that department, as “Myrmidon” is one of the available awards. Otherwise, the other titles—such as Warlord and Inquisitor—will find use in short accord. The initial intent was to have special items available for each title. I will likely be releasing the white dress attire for title holders in addition to pursuing the other items. [18:43:16] Aryte Vesperia: That said, turning the floor over to Praetorian Bleac. [18:43:27] Ron Bleac shouts: Thank you, sir. [18:44:03] Ron Bleac shouts: From December 28th onwards the Ordo has pursued combat operations against the Erebus initiative after a series of early morning attacks, in addition to their high command raiding us with a full force after their visitation rights were denied. [18:44:48] Ron Bleac shouts: These attacks have largely been very succesful. Ordo has disrupted Erebus combat operations, and as Aryte mentioned earlier, they have retired to get their bearings after one of their command members was tragically banned. We wish them well and hope everything turns out well. [18:45:11] Ron Bleac shouts: However, this brief cessation of hostilities is coming to an end. We expect Erebus to launch attacks against us tomorrow when we open our sim. [18:45:41] Ron Bleac shouts: These will no doubt be very large, powerful attacks. But we will send them back. We will hold our line and we will defeat them. We may, in fact, strike first. [18:46:04] Ron Bleac shouts: During the assaults on Erebus on the 28th of December, individuals such as Maverick Garfield, Corsi Mousehold, Nrom Normandy and Trinity Heckroth performed above and beyond the call of duty on the air and the ground. [18:46:13] Ron Bleac shouts: I ask those of you who are here, will you be with me tomorrow, as well? [18:46:29] Maverick Garfield: YES [18:46:30] Vinnie Lei shouts: HELL YEH [18:46:30] Kiki DeAllura (corsi.mousehold): / [18:46:34] Kiki DeAllura (corsi.mousehold): Yes sir. [18:46:39] Bizcut Vanbrugh: /shout AYE [18:46:43] Hollow (hollowmengitus.yifu): Yes. [18:46:43] Lord Killjoy The Obliterator (arokh.takakura) shouts: AND MY AXE [18:46:45] Aryte Vesperia: I will. Provided I wake up in time .. ! [18:46:46] Steeltael Lykin: I'll be here. [18:46:47] Bizcut Vanbrugh shouts: aye [18:46:48] Disembodied Hand enthusiasticly shouts "Granted my interwebs work!" [18:46:48] KithyWithy (kithsuneca.eilde) shouts: Yes, Sir. [18:46:50] Huttser Solmunko (huttser.ishelwood) shouts: Do or die! [18:46:51] Kiwi Foxtrot (eriksson.foxtrot) shouts: Yes sir. [18:46:55] Markus Karlfeldt (mark.karlfeldt): no [18:46:55] ??? (kalas.drascol) shouts: Sir Yes Sir~ [18:46:55] Zai Veknam (zerowinged.vasiliev) shouts: If needed. [18:47:02] Ravenstevenski Blindside shouts: Yes Sir [18:47:03] SoulBinder Wolfstein: I will be. [18:47:08] Maverick Garfield shouts: YES SIR MY SHOTGUN IS YOURS [18:47:11] Ron Bleac shouts: Most excellent. We must make our message clear: [18:47:18] Wulf Lykin: i will be there [18:47:21] Tsukiyomi (tsukiyomi.yuhara) shouts: and my axe! [18:47:24] Agares Tretiak shouts: The earth will be stained with their blood. [18:47:29] Pr0wer Miles shouts: and my bow [18:47:39] Hunter Abrams shouts: AND MY BSWORD [18:47:46] Disembodied Hand: calma. [18:47:57] Ron Bleac shouts: They must make no mistake, we are here to defeat them in battle. They wished for war, now they have it. We will surge against their line of battle, breaking against it like waves upon rocks, and we will overcome! We will wash their sins away with their own blood. [18:48:20] Maverick Garfield shouts: HOORAH [18:48:41] Phares Nicholls (phares.sarjeant) shouts: huzzah [18:48:56] Ron Bleac shouts: As you know, this combat operation has been named Operation Balaklava, after the 600 cavalry who charged Russian guns in the Crimean war. Their bravery, dignity and resolve will be our example. We must lead the charge and we will do or die. [18:49:31] Ron Bleac shouts: Make no mistake! I require of all of you your utmost effort in the coming days. This will be the largest troop mobilization the Ordo has seen in the past year and most likely, this coming year. [18:50:05] Ron Bleac shouts: We will defeat them. They will pay the price for waking the slumbering giant. [18:50:18] Ron Bleac shouts: Tomorrow. [18:50:21] Ron Bleac shouts: We. [18:50:23] Ron Bleac shouts: Dine. [18:50:26] Ron Bleac shouts: In. [18:50:31] Ron Bleac shouts: .. Ziost. [18:50:42] Aryte Vesperia: .. lmao. [18:50:43] Ron Bleac shouts: That is all. [18:50:43] Maverick Garfield shouts: BLOOD [18:50:53] Maverick Garfield shouts: BLOOD NOW [18:50:56] ??? (kalas.drascol) shouts: inb4 ordo getting shoved over a cliff in slow motion [18:51:52] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you, Ron. And the Persians got shoved over the cliff, Kalas. >;[ [18:52:26] ??? (kalas.drascol) shouts: I retract my statement. [18:52:31] Maverick Garfield shouts: we shall make a wall of there bodies [18:52:35] ??? (kalas.drascol) shouts: *their [18:53:11] Aryte Vesperia: All rightyyyy. Promotions will be up tomorrow. Feel free to send any late PRFs/recommendations until then. You may all frolic about for the rest of the evening and enjoy the holiday-- feel free to call trainings or what not. We'll be open for normal business tomorrow. SO enjoy the time while ya' have it. [18:53:16] Aryte Vesperia: That said. Dismissed and good meeting. [18:53:17] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute.
  6. I'm sure it was ment to be funny, but I cant help but feel like being trolled.
  7. [2010/08/11 16:10] Aryte Vesperia: I am callin' you all here today to set some things in notion and to instill a sense of control over current processess. [2010/08/11 16:10] Aryte Vesperia: I mostly wanted the unit and command here, but, Astra in general is welcome to sit in. [2010/08/11 16:11] Aryte Vesperia: I would appreciate silence. Do not interject until provided the opportunity. God knows it'll be difficult for me to stay on task with IMs alone. [2010/08/11 16:12] Aryte Vesperia: To begin. Sosarin provided a post a couple days ago regarding Astra structure. [2010/08/11 16:13] Aryte Vesperia: I believe all staff had access to it. >>>Roll Call [2010/08/11 16:14] Aryte Vesperia: How many flight and squadron leaders are present? Hands. [2010/08/11 16:15] Blaze Wiles: all of them should be here sir (providing no ones AFK [2010/08/11 16:15] Aryte Vesperia: Heavy, Tactical 2? [2010/08/11 16:15] Drasamax Python: I'm here [2010/08/11 16:15] Aryte Vesperia: Drasamax, 1. [2010/08/11 16:15] Heavy666 Bolden: Yes Sir. [2010/08/11 16:15] Aryte Vesperia: Crash for 3. [2010/08/11 16:15] WolfShaman Warrior is here. [2010/08/11 16:15] Numinous Foxdale: Here sir (thought I am an XO) [2010/08/11 16:15] Aryte Vesperia: Wolfshaman overall. Ok. >>> General Structure and Command [2010/08/11 16:17] Aryte Vesperia: Well, from what I see, the set up is relatively sound. I have no issues. It is reminsicent of a Terra Cohors/Century design. It's fitting to the size of Astra. So, we will keep that in place. [2010/08/11 16:17] Aryte Vesperia: My issue with Astra arises with the stagnantion of command powers. Not by a lack of trying, but by a lack of clarity as to who should be doing what. T here's a lot of overlap-- not that overlap is bad--but to a level that folks are fighting eachother for the same jobs. [2010/08/11 16:18] Aryte Vesperia: Have we designated an individual responsible overall for training operations, flight school, etc, Sosarin? [2010/08/11 16:19] Sosarin Demar: Not as of yet. We've debated on possible individuals. We don't have the officer oversight to spare in the present structure. We may need to resort to veteran NCO oversight, with indirect oversight held by high command. [2010/08/11 16:19] Aryte Vesperia: Very well. [2010/08/11 16:20] Aryte Vesperia: For reference: [2010/08/11 16:20] Aryte Vesperia: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0ApGKEJkPRE7WdHI2YmdiTlRsS0o5bmlVX1JpSEVWZlE&hl=en&gid=1 [2010/08/11 16:20] Aryte Vesperia: Command within the squadrons/flights will remain. I will not be seperating folks from their routine. What I will be doing, and we will cover here today, is seperating extraordinary powers (gear requisition, diplomacy, training, etc). [2010/08/11 16:21] Aryte Vesperia: Oh, I see. Training is part of the reserve element? [2010/08/11 16:21] Sosarin Demar: Trainees are listed in the reserve group. [2010/08/11 16:22] Sosarin Demar: But I imagine they might seperate themselves into the teaching element once that has its foundation set. [2010/08/11 16:22] Aryte Vesperia: Understood. [2010/08/11 16:23] Vix Venera salutes! [2010/08/11 16:23] Aryte Vesperia salutes. [2010/08/11 16:24] Aryte Vesperia: For all intensive purposes, you may consider me your direct co-command of Astra. I will be supplementing Sosarin's authority as a Legates. [2010/08/11 16:25] Aryte Vesperia: Trinity and Ethan are the next levels of authority. Ethan is assigned as Astra XO. [2010/08/11 16:25] Aryte Vesperia: Trinity, you are unassigned. [2010/08/11 16:25] Trinity Heckroth nods [2010/08/11 16:25] Aryte Vesperia: Ethan, summarize major duties as XO? [2010/08/11 16:27] Aryte Vesperia: He's on the phone. We'll come back. [2010/08/11 16:27] Aryte Vesperia: Trinity, reasoning for unassignment? [2010/08/11 16:27] Trinity Heckroth: I was refcoused into an intensive AiR role. That time has passed. Have yet to be reassigned. [2010/08/11 16:28] Aryte Vesperia: Very well. Area of interest? [2010/08/11 16:28] Trinity Heckroth: Diplomacy, training, anywhere I'm needed. [2010/08/11 16:28] Aryte Vesperia: Very well. [2010/08/11 16:28] Aryte Vesperia: As a side note-- and not to target you or anyone else, Trinity, but I wish to mention: [2010/08/11 16:29] Aryte Vesperia: Folks within secondary assignments while holding a major command position in Astra will need to demonstrate ability to hold those positions at a exemplary level, or leave one of them. [2010/08/11 16:29] Aryte Vesperia: I believe it was put best in this way: [2010/08/11 16:29] Aryte Vesperia: The "Balanced Outcome": Branch 1 Branch 2 <Mediocre>------<Mediocre> The "Seesaw Outcomes": Branch 1 Branch 2 :3 <Good>------<Poor> Branch 1 Branch 2 <Poor>------<Good> [2010/08/11 16:31] Aryte Vesperia: Unless the work can be committed to fulfill both assignments as "good," one will need to be relinquished. I will provide the opportunity to demonstrate such, so any past complaints may be considered null/void. However I will not be forgiving on the matter. I need all hands on deck. So failure to maintain will be a quick reassignment. >>>Training [2010/08/11 16:31] Aryte Vesperia: Who currently handles the majority of flight training, Sosarin? [2010/08/11 16:32] Sosarin Demar: Until the shift to the new paradigm for the Apostles, and the creation of a seperate teaching group, the Apostles handle training. Numinous, the Apostle XO, has been on top of that, lately. [2010/08/11 16:33] Aryte Vesperia: Very good. [2010/08/11 16:33] Aryte Vesperia: Numinous, do you have any additional instructors? [2010/08/11 16:33] Sosarin Demar: (And Blaze, too, as Apostle Commander.) [2010/08/11 16:33] Aryte Vesperia: Understood. [2010/08/11 16:34] Aryte Vesperia: Who all regularly teaches flight training? Blaze, Numinous? [2010/08/11 16:34] Numinous Foxdale: As it currently stands, the Instructors are the current flight leads. With the introduction of the flightschool, I would hope to see flight instructors of multiple ranka dn sytle, similar to schola and IEA, to best facilitate a well rounded training system, however at current date, ti is the primary flight leads and myself. [2010/08/11 16:34] Sosarin Demar: (Drasamax, Heavy666, and Crash) [2010/08/11 16:37] Aryte Vesperia: Would it offend your operation if I appointed an officer to control of the process to form a formal staff out of these individuals? [2010/08/11 16:38] Blaze Wiles: not at all sir, we need the flight school operational before we can move forward with the apostles themselves. [2010/08/11 16:38] Ethan Schuman: (Not to interrupt, but I am back) [2010/08/11 16:38] (COM): Numinous Foxdale: I personally don't see a need to organize our staff like that. The Apostles are trying to form themselves as the alpha squad they are, if a formation is to be had, I would highly recoomend it be int he 61st Squadron for training and individuals wishing to train, and leave the alpha squad to those who have shown the aptitude to be there and the additude and promise for that elite title. [2010/08/11 16:38] Numinous Foxdale: .....and that shoudlnt' have gone on 2 [2010/08/11 16:39] Aryte Vesperia: Blaze, as you are ranking instructor, I offer it to you first. However I do underscore that I do want you to focus on Apostles. Do you wish to take or pass this? [2010/08/11 16:40] Blaze Wiles: I will take it if necessary Sir but in all honesty I have never really been an instructor at heart, I perhapse couldn't put the same attention to it as another might. [2010/08/11 16:40] Aryte Vesperia: To Numinous: a training element is necessary, if you wish to name it the 61st I don't mind. [2010/08/11 16:41] Aryte Vesperia: Very good then, Blaze. You will focus on the Apostles. [2010/08/11 16:41] Aryte Vesperia: However, I do require you step in and ensure training is adequate when the time arises. [2010/08/11 16:41] Blaze Wiles: yes sir [2010/08/11 16:42] Aryte Vesperia: How long does it typically take, in general, to run someone through flight school? [2010/08/11 16:42] Numinous Foxdale: May I answer that sir? [2010/08/11 16:42] Aryte Vesperia: Of course. [2010/08/11 16:43] Numinous Foxdale: Time can slightly very due to the cadet getting use to the flight of our preada, and the maze itself, however, once that is passed through generally a day or two, then the next phases can be done within 12 hours generall depending ont he time of day to allow other pilots to help. If I had to give a hard number, I would say 5 days maximum we could run someone through if they are willing to focus ont heir flight training. And that is all 4 phases, the 3 primary and the bomber addition. [2010/08/11 16:44] Aryte Vesperia: 5 will be our goal, then. Thank you. [2010/08/11 16:44] Ethan Schuman: (Predator trainer is fixed BTW. Took care of that last night) [2010/08/11 16:44] Aryte Vesperia: Trinity, do you wish to make this your assignment and work directly with Numinous as the officer overseeing educational processes? Your primary responsibility would be to ensure those seeking training are processed in 5 days, instructional methods are sound, and that staffing is adequate. [2010/08/11 16:45] Trinity Heckroth: I can accomplish this task, sir. [2010/08/11 16:46] Aryte Vesperia: Provide me an explanation in note form -- could be brief -- in the next couple of hours, telling me how you intend to measure success and establish adequate training schedules. [2010/08/11 16:46] Trinity Heckroth: Will do. [2010/08/11 16:46] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [2010/08/11 16:47] Aryte Vesperia: What's next. [2010/08/11 16:47] Aryte Vesperia: Ah yes [2010/08/11 16:47] Aryte Vesperia: Gear requisitions. >>>Gear [2010/08/11 16:47] Aryte Vesperia: > Divisional (HC): The divisional commanders (O-5) may request directly to Munitorum command the construction of gear for their division. > Divisional (Unit): Unit leads may request to their Divisional HC the construction of gear for their division and/or unit. [2010/08/11 16:48] Aryte Vesperia: Currently, for the sake of efficiency, you may send requisitions to me personally. [2010/08/11 16:48] Aryte Vesperia: Nikki-- I see you as tagged under the roster as unassigned as well. [2010/08/11 16:50] Aryte Vesperia: Your area of expertise is weapon functionality and efficiency. Are you available to take the assignment as being my liasion? Your primary role would be to act as the individual to filter out and coordinate requistions I receive. In addition, review current vehicles and ensure all Astra needs are met? [2010/08/11 16:50] Nikki4 Aquitaine: Definitely. :> [2010/08/11 16:50] Aryte Vesperia: Very good. >>> Additional Assignments [2010/08/11 16:51] Aryte Vesperia: Wolfshaman. Diplomatics. [2010/08/11 16:51] Aryte Vesperia: All diplomatic events and origination of diplomatic combat notes are yours. [2010/08/11 16:51] Aryte Vesperia: Agreeds? [2010/08/11 16:52] WolfShaman Warrior: I can do that. [2010/08/11 16:52] Aryte Vesperia: You may operate it as you see fit and, if someone wishes to help, they may approach you. Simply. I don't want fifteen diplomatic projects ongoing. You control them all. [2010/08/11 16:53] Aryte Vesperia: You may delegate it out, but I still want oversight in your mits. [2010/08/11 16:53] Aryte Vesperia: Karlhockey. [2010/08/11 16:54] Aryte Vesperia: I want you to work with the Apostles and drag every guard member to routinely practice with the Apostles. It'll be helpful for both. You role will be liasion between the Guard and Astra. Primary function is to act as a manpower coordinator-- if Astra needs Guard help in any way (or vice versa), it goes through you. [2010/08/11 16:55] Karlhockey Forte: Roger. [2010/08/11 16:55] Numinous Foxdale: Sir, comment if I may? [2010/08/11 16:55] Aryte Vesperia: Of course. [2010/08/11 16:56] Numinous Foxdale: In the past we had a slight issue with Guard/Astra relations. I trust in karlhockey's ability to coordinate, but can it be mentioned to the guard directly that Astra's job is to fly first, there is nothing more insulting than eager pilots getting shot down because a guard decided to go intot he air first without declaring it or being told to and shooting the modivation of our young and eager pilots. [2010/08/11 16:56] Aryte Vesperia: Agreed and affirmed. See to it, purple one. [2010/08/11 16:57] Karlhockey Forte: It has been stated before, save for attached to astra members(which I think i am the only one) Astra always takes point first/ [2010/08/11 16:58] Aryte Vesperia: Ethan, summarize your major duties as XO? [2010/08/11 16:59] Ethan Schuman: Brief summary: Listen to everything you guys tell me to have done, and make sure it gets done. [2010/08/11 17:00] Ethan Schuman: More specifically, however, it's my duty to provide oversight over all seperate tasks in Astra, and make sure they are progressing in both a timely and productive manner [2010/08/11 17:00] Ethan Schuman: It's also my job to make sure you guys get bothered with as little shit as possible. [2010/08/11 17:01] Aryte Vesperia: I can go for that. I have an additional task for you. Most of the folks in this room from the command avenue have and can lead air raids, but I'd appreciate it if you make it a personal goal to see to it that three air raids are led weekly. Either by your hand, or by another's. [2010/08/11 17:01] Ethan Schuman: ...payback time for CATI [2010/08/11 17:01] Ethan Schuman: Err, yes sir! [2010/08/11 17:01] Aryte Vesperia: Coordinate with Wolf to make sure it's legal lol. [2010/08/11 17:02] Ethan Schuman: Gotcha. >>>Astra's Weekly Reporting system [2010/08/11 17:02] Aryte Vesperia: Tell me a little bit about a weekly Astra report. Flight and Squadron level. [2010/08/11 17:03] Numinous Foxdale: Sir, I can send yout he standard flight report for you to view if you wish, on a basic flight level. [2010/08/11 17:04] Aryte Vesperia: Please. [2010/08/11 17:04] Numinous Foxdale: ack, ment to send you a blank, but that will work. [2010/08/11 17:04] Sosarin Demar: A typical flight report consists of an update of activities held by the flight leader (if any), personal comments on each member according to feedback received weekly via IM's or notes, and promotion/merit recommendations. The squadron report is a compiliation of the squardon's flight reports, with any extraneous comments left by the squadron commander. Wolfshaman takes the time to add a summary of each flight report to make it easier for the recipients of the squadron report. [2010/08/11 17:04] Aryte Vesperia: Every member reports? [2010/08/11 17:05] Sosarin Demar: Every member assigend toa flight is required to send a weekly "report", it can be a short paragraph or a simple, "I am here and alive." via IM's. I don't expect it to be a hardship for everyone. [2010/08/11 17:05] Sosarin Demar: Flight leader expectations can vary. [2010/08/11 17:05] Aryte Vesperia: Interestiiing. [2010/08/11 17:06] Aryte Vesperia: I like. [2010/08/11 17:06] Aryte Vesperia: Flight/command, one thing I'd like to add: weekly topic of question. Data mine for me. [2010/08/11 17:06] Sosarin Demar: Members who fail to report or are going absent for awhile are moved to reserve. People returning to "active" duty are re-assigend to flights. [2010/08/11 17:06] Aryte Vesperia: Ask opinion on aircraft. Ask what gear they need. Ask about performance. [2010/08/11 17:07] Aryte Vesperia: Get flight to command level input. [2010/08/11 17:07] Numinous Foxdale: Suggestion sir: Make a standardized form, so we are all on the same page, all answering the same way. Just a thought. [2010/08/11 17:08] Aryte Vesperia: Then it'll come from Squadron level. Can do. Blaze/Wolf? [2010/08/11 17:08] WolfShaman Warrior: Would not take me too long [2010/08/11 17:09] WolfShaman Warrior: I beleive Bargo had a version that some people are using already, I can adapt that. [2010/08/11 17:09] Aryte Vesperia: Very good. [2010/08/11 17:09] Aryte Vesperia: All right. What else, folks? [2010/08/11 17:10] Numinous Foxdale raises hand [2010/08/11 17:10] Ethan Schuman: I did have something I wanted to bring up to you. Don't know if we talked about it already or not. [2010/08/11 17:10] Aryte Vesperia: Numanuma? >>>Projects [2010/08/11 17:12] Numinous Foxdale: While it is great to see people assigned to overseeing projects, it is improtant to note it is just for projects, a proof of concept or ideas people are tyring to throw togeather should not be shot down, canceled or otherwise hindered, sometimes people (myself included) work better on a task seeing it infront of them, and if they go to friends for help with scripts and builds and such, ti is their free time, and should not be goverend by superiors. We have run into this when all projects got canceled for astra for the time being. just putting that out there. [2010/08/11 17:13] Aryte Vesperia: A project can easily be undertaken: my only need is it needs to be mentioned to me. [2010/08/11 17:13] Aryte Vesperia: Or, when I so duely pass it off, mentioned to the individual responsible for requisition. [2010/08/11 17:14] Ethan Schuman: One thing I'd like to bring up is that if a project doesn't get Legate sign off, there's no guarantee whatsoever it will get used. [2010/08/11 17:14] Aryte Vesperia: What we are governing is legality, not your creativity. If you want to make a set of bombs for missions, awesome. But we need to know that it's being made, so we're not wasting resources on doing that project elsewhere. [2010/08/11 17:14] Numinous Foxdale nods and waits for the next item [2010/08/11 17:14] Aryte Vesperia: Anly hates me because I approve everything if it sounds like it'd be fun to use. [2010/08/11 17:14] Sosarin Demar: (Bear in mind, even a nod from me isnt a 100% guarantee.) [2010/08/11 17:15] Aryte Vesperia: So you've got the benefit of having Aryte "OO DOES IT BLOW UP? APPROVED" Vesperia [2010/08/11 17:15] Nikki4 Aquitaine: (except I filter out the crap now Aryte >:D) [2010/08/11 17:15] Numinous Foxdale: I will keep that in mind as we push forward. [2010/08/11 17:15] Aryte Vesperia: So have fun with it, but at least give me a concept so I can track, etc. [2010/08/11 17:15] Aryte Vesperia: Shoeman? >>>Flight Training as a possible Elective [2010/08/11 17:17] Ethan Schuman: Something we had been talking about amongst the non-batman officers is the concept of opening up basic flight training to Terra as an elective, sort of like how Astra can take Armatura. This would only apply to entry level main fighter training only. Advanced stuff and other aircraft would not be covered. [2010/08/11 17:18] Ethan Schuman: The advantage of this is is both for Terra people to get a more in-depth feel for flying, and to increase the pool of available participants for training exercises. [2010/08/11 17:18] Sosarin Demar: Probably wouldn't be prudent to offer training to Terra people for something they ultimately can't use afterwards. [2010/08/11 17:18] Sosarin Demar: Plus it would probably just look like a stunt to snatch up Terra peeps, something that would raise eyebrows, I s'pose. [2010/08/11 17:18] Aryte Vesperia: The mindset currently is have a flight orientation in Schola, which would give folks the chance to taste it. [2010/08/11 17:19] Ethan Schuman: Well, Sos... that's kind of what it is, hah. [2010/08/11 17:19] Heavy666 Bolden raises a paw. [2010/08/11 17:19] Sosarin Demar nonod. [2010/08/11 17:19] Sosarin Demar nods, even. [2010/08/11 17:19] Aryte Vesperia: Boooolden? >>>Propaganda [2010/08/11 17:20] Heavy666 Bolden I would like to see some kind of motivational poster draw up for astra. At some point in time, consisting of astra paragon flight members in planes possibly. [2010/08/11 17:20] Aryte Vesperia: Already in progress. [2010/08/11 17:20] Aryte Vesperia: I commissioned Waffle to create a series of photo/propoaganda stuff. [2010/08/11 17:20] Aryte Vesperia: Astra will be featured. [2010/08/11 17:20] Trinity Heckroth raises hand [2010/08/11 17:20] Heavy666 Bolden: Great! [2010/08/11 17:21] Aryte Vesperia: Heckroth. [2010/08/11 17:21] Ethan Schuman: OH! Something else after Trinity. [2010/08/11 17:21] Trinity Heckroth: I'd like to see low level aircraft demonstrations when not in combat. People sitting in aircraft, flying around, having fun. That's something that I have never seen here, and it's something that would let people see the capabilities of astra, as all of our training is pretty... out of the public eye. [2010/08/11 17:22] Sosarin Demar: (AFK, be right back ... in awhile. Have to steam some vege and finish the riiibz) [2010/08/11 17:22] Aryte Vesperia: If a balance can be made between Astra planes being used a toys, I concur and say yes. [2010/08/11 17:23] Trinity Heckroth: I'll get with you on that after this, then. [2010/08/11 17:24] Aryte Vesperia: Who did I miss? [2010/08/11 17:24] Aryte Vesperia: Ethan. >>>Aircraft [2010/08/11 17:26] Ethan Schuman: On the subject of appearance, I think pretty much everyone in this room agrees that we need a proper model for the Predator. We're still using that placeholder one of Niiya's, and while it looks okay, we really do need something proper. We also are going to need a builder for the assault shuttle project when it hits formal development. [2010/08/11 17:27] Aryte Vesperia: I can bring Disembodied to bear on that, but it will be down the line. Perhaps you can kidnap Nikki and hold her hostage until Niiya does. [2010/08/11 17:27] Nikki4 Aquitaine: lol [2010/08/11 17:27] Ethan Schuman: But Nikki is about as big of a case of "DO NOT WANT!" as they get. =( [2010/08/11 17:27] Nikki4 Aquitaine: I built that navis ship ages ago I could probably mod that design for a shuttle but like... yah know... sim build... [2010/08/11 17:27] Trinity Heckroth: Oh snap. [2010/08/11 17:27] Nikki4 Aquitaine: ._. [2010/08/11 17:28] Ethan Schuman: Nikki, Niiya, and Dis are all tasked with more important duties. Wolf is a good sculptor, but he can't texture. [2010/08/11 17:28] Ethan Schuman: Honestly, I'd REALLY like to use the sit Nemesis model, but I doubt Syl will hand that out. [2010/08/11 17:29] Numinous Foxdale: why use the same model of an aircraft we already use? [2010/08/11 17:29] Aryte Vesperia: And I'd rather not- right. [2010/08/11 17:30] Ethan Schuman: That frame deserves a much better flight core than it has. I hate that style of flight. [2010/08/11 17:30] Nikki4 Aquitaine: I love the nemesis :< [2010/08/11 17:30] Numinous Foxdale: ALOT of people love the nemesis Nikki [2010/08/11 17:31] Ethan Schuman: Attachment one is great. Sit based one is just an abomination. [2010/08/11 17:31] Aryte Vesperia: We will not use the same model. [2010/08/11 17:31] FireFox Breed: Well we can give it a paint job later but its still operational hardware. Why wait on the paint job when its useable? [2010/08/11 17:31] Ethan Schuman: Because our fighter is a large part of our image, and we need a better image. [2010/08/11 17:33] Blaze Wiles: both nems are fantastic weapon systems just well jot all that much fun to fly compared to other aircraft. but thats a matter of personal opinion. it would be much better to have a new airframe. [2010/08/11 17:33] Aryte Vesperia: Ah. That brings me to a topic. [2010/08/11 17:33] Aryte Vesperia: Praeda: time to retire it. [2010/08/11 17:33] Crash Silverfall raises hand on that [2010/08/11 17:33] Aryte Vesperia: Silverfall? [2010/08/11 17:34] Crash Silverfall: If the Praeda is going to retire, do we get now another new plane :D, like big and that bombs stuff >:D [2010/08/11 17:34] Numinous Foxdale: .... [2010/08/11 17:34] Aryte Vesperia: Lol. Maybeee? [2010/08/11 17:34] shippo Coba: :D [2010/08/11 17:34] Crash Silverfall: like a B52 [2010/08/11 17:35] Vix Venera: what about the thanatos? 0.o oh.. [2010/08/11 17:35] Crash Silverfall: or ac130 [2010/08/11 17:35] Numinous Foxdale face desks [2010/08/11 17:35] Crash Silverfall: The thanatos is to small for me [2010/08/11 17:35] Ethan Schuman: The assault shuttle will be like a Blackhawk [2010/08/11 17:35] Ethan Schuman: Actually, it'll be more like a HinD [2010/08/11 17:35] Vix Venera: hinds are cool :D [2010/08/11 17:36] Numinous Foxdale: Crash, we are astra not Navis, we dont' need arial battrlships to prove ourselves. [2010/08/11 17:36] Ethan Schuman: Actually, Navis is technically a subdivision of Astra. [2010/08/11 17:36] Ethan Schuman: Thanatos is Navis. =p [2010/08/11 17:36] Aryte Vesperia: (Be RIGHT back.) [2010/08/11 17:36] Numinous Foxdale: Thanatos is also small and a bomber, nto a damn large aircraft ethan [2010/08/11 17:36] Numinous Foxdale: way to take the point of my sentence [2010/08/11 17:37] Ethan Schuman: The Thanatos was developed as part of Navis when we shifted our mission role. True story. =p [2010/08/11 17:37] Numinous Foxdale: Im familiar. [2010/08/11 17:37] Trinity Heckroth: Like Vincents super thanatos [2010/08/11 17:37] Trinity Heckroth: >_> [2010/08/11 17:37] Nikki4 Aquitaine: Thanatemesis = win. End of story. :D [2010/08/11 17:40] Aryte Vesperia: Back. [2010/08/11 17:41] Aryte Vesperia: Where were we? [2010/08/11 17:41] Lysander Serrari: Plane developments [2010/08/11 17:41] Aryte Vesperia: Ah yes. >>>Thanatos Related stuffs [2010/08/11 17:42] Aryte Vesperia: Thantanemesis is .. NOT KIND OF REALLY OFFICIAL. [2010/08/11 17:42] Trinity Heckroth: I seriously love vincents super thanatos. [2010/08/11 17:42] Aryte Vesperia: I had it made, seriously, for the explicit purpose of bombing CS. [2010/08/11 17:42] Blaze Wiles: we need to discuss it at a latter date sir on some occassions it is making out actuall thanatos bomber obsolite in it's purpose [2010/08/11 17:43] WolfShaman Warrior: ^ [2010/08/11 17:43] Aryte Vesperia: Well, we c an stop issuing it. And save it for rainy days. [2010/08/11 17:43] Numinous Foxdale: it wouldn't if the second weapon attachment I was working on got done [2010/08/11 17:45] Aryte Vesperia: Well, we'll see to zhat, ja. [2010/08/11 17:45] Aryte Vesperia: We will hold Astra meetings of thise quality every other week, on my day off. I will use them to keep focus and maintain/assign/reassign, answer concerns, so on and so forth. [2010/08/11 17:46] Aryte Vesperia: With that said, let's get out there and get to it. CS is opening soon, so we'll probably be bombing them. [2010/08/11 17:46] WolfShaman Warrior: If I can take a couple days off, I can get the sculpts done. [2010/08/11 17:49] FireFox Breed: i have a side comment to say before everyone runs off [2010/08/11 17:51] FireFox Breed: Just keep in mind that Astra is the only division that controls the air. Its not like Terra can be pilots like Astra can be ground troopers by simply getting out of there jets. Also the division, least operational readyness is dependent apon its leaders from the top and everyone on the way down to the enlisted solders who just show up to fight. So largly the health of the division depends on the officers and the people on the top. [2010/08/11 17:52] Aryte Vesperia nods. [2010/08/11 17:54] FireFox Breed: Just keep that in mind. Also seek out the people who are putting forth effert into improving the division and give them the ability to do so. As you can tell from Terra I have have a runnign list of constent changes I need to do inorder to keep my division operational because people change, least with there time and motivation to do things to the group. Much like I am you should be looking at your enlisted members to be the one who will be officers in the future. [2010/08/11 17:55] FireFox Breed: Thats basicly all I got to say. I am always around of any officer need advice or help with anything. I might be Terra but that does not prevent me from helping if needed.
  8. The whole uproar about the Apostles and their alpha status is understandable. It's been a long time since they've been recignized or conducted themselves in an Alpha squad Capacity. Like before I joined Ordo over a year ago long time. The point of the Alpha squad merit being awarded was brought up by Corsi: Blaze has been an Apostle since 01JUN09, yet she JUST received her Alpha squad merit on 23MAY10. Link For referance: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/8164-ordo-promotions-23may10/page__view__findpost__p__61364 In an orginizational Sense, they've been scattered amongs the 3 flights and never really having their own unit that they themselves are unique to, as the case is for the Terra Alpha units. They're assigned to one of the regular 3 flights, report to their flight leaders who are in command of their regular flights (some Apostles are flight leaders as well) and fall under the command of the Regular squadron command tree. Getting into the Apostles is also not that different from getting into the IEA. From my understanding, if you're E3, Have a month in Astra, and want to be an Apostle, you were tested to see if you were compitant enough to teach the material. If you were, and you completed training, you became an Apostle. He received the Ace Pilot merit 13MAR10 Referance: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/7314-ordo-meeting-13mar10/page__view__findpost__p__55999 Bottom of the Meeting log, promotions Section. The whole time I've been in Astra, The Apostles have been a Training Cadre. Much like the Magisters are to Schola, except they're in the pilot seat across from the new pilot and are combating with them on a 1 on 1 and group basis. Thus Generally have more stick time than the rest of us. The past year that I've been in Astra, the Closest thing that I have personally seen that reflects an Alpha squad in the modern Sense was the Dropship Squadron: Terminus. They had Separate Forums, Aircraft, unit, command tree, Training, logo, mentality, and even a unit specific weapon in the works. The end of Summer came about and activity and membership dropped, then the unit was dissolved and reconstituted with the Fighter Squadron into the Tactical Squadron. So that probably adds to the confusion as well. But the point being, It was a non-alpha squad that looked and operated like an Alpha squad, while the Real Alpha Squad looked and operated like Schola/Armatura. I've heard rumors that there is some progress being made to try and fix this confusion and get the Apostles geared more towards Combat again. On top of that, they're setting themselves towards being more in tune to the current model of alpha squads. Unfortunantly, information has been really scarce about that, but I do hope that they manage to improve their image as an Alpha squad so there is no confusion as to it's legitimacy or function.
  9. For those of you like me who dont read the Munitorum Forums, Go here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/7020-unlock-equivalencies-and-you I dont recall it being mentioned at the weekly meetings, so people might of missed it. Equivalents: Not just for Jetpacks anymore! (might not be too bad of an idea to include in the handbook as well - Say III-302b?)
  10. /bump again for confusion. Please read people. It's also in the handbook v2.1. Request a copy/move to the Reports section where the other simular orders/clarifications are presented (and because it keeps getting harder and harder for me to track it down every time I quote it lol)

  14. In the current handbook that I have (v2.0a 24NOV09) I cant find mention of this policy, or mention of it going back to 1.9.8 (I think IX-904: Valid hostile parties may not be engaged within the spawn without explicit reasoning, such as: ----- a. Misuse of the spawn; as in, firing from it. IX-905: Enemies may linger within the spawn as long as they wish; the only exception would be valid override by command on the basis of: ----- a. Enemies proven disinterested in neutral approach, but wish to loiter in spawn to "taunt" defenders. ----- b. Enemy party idling, unresponsive, simply loitering. Again, these relate to Hostile parties. Visitors would be classified as Neutral IMO. ----- I am not certain if it is still being issued in the modern schola (I was the last class to be sent through the 4phase Schola) We were handed a notecard titled "Ordo Imperialis; Spawn and Guard Regulations" dated 22MAY08 that states: o) Exceptions to firing into the spawn otherwise: - - Newbies, such as listed above. Reason: sim integrity; chances are they're here to crash it. - - Enemies whom spend over-prolonged amounts of time, or are noted to be "panning their camera around the region" may be fired upon. Reason: if they can pan their camera around to take pictures of the simulator as a spy, they've obviously loaded enough to combat. This DOES NOT MEAN gun down anyone who lingers over five minutes-- it is simply a rule in place to be utilized if necessary. Use discretion. (Overly prolonged amount of time: 5 minutes) - - Enemies, firing from the spawn. Reason: obviously, if you're fired on from the spawn, defend yourself. In practice, tho, I have only seen like 1 person get shot for intel photos from the spawn. (or for going afk for an hour in the spawn with alarms blaring)
  15. Hey, Maby put a Flag behind the walls someplace, and if they're able to cap it, they get a blinged out toaster oven or something.
  16. The AFK issue has been around for a while, and numerous ideas to battle the issue has been brought about, but nothing has been officially inacted. Typically people go AFK in the Outpost or Armory. Some have sugested keeping the AFKers to the Armory or the moon base. Having held the night shift NCOIC plenty of times and trying to judge activity at times by the dots is not always reliable, and you have some people who are semi-afk on the wall. I tend to go by the dots outside of the outpost are typically the ones active, even then that's not often an accurate count. Most often the "who's Awake" is the most reliable. Sometimes you got people who are semi-afk and may miss the comm message but are listining to that alarm to sound and start sending rounds down range. IMO, as long as people go AFK inside the outpost, and not on the line our outside anywhere, then I'm personally happy. -------- Disrespecting, Ignoring, Disobaying the NCOIC/OIC Bugs me alot. I've seen it happen on multiple occations, and it's not just the new guys, I've seen senior ordo, People who've been around alot longer than I have, Ignore the night shift NCOIC. True Example: Late night shift, Got a couple attackers and someone "accidentlyed" them with illigal weaponry. NCOIC Says over comms that they did not authorize explosives, and told them to stop. A couple seconds later over vent you hear "Ooops, I accidentlyed them again, oh darn." Not once, but a few times after the initial and following orders to decist the use of the weapon. For the above example, I contacted the NCOIC and stated to them that I would support them and offer to put my name down as a referance for a CIR if they wished to generate one, to which they chose to decline to create one, but appreciated my support in the matter. In the future, I may be inclined to issue one myself. Some may think that an NCOIC does not hold the true authority of a WO or Commissioned officer. The lower the rank of the NCOIC in question (~E5) the people on base who out rank them and yet do not hold the posting of NCOIC may think that they can get away with things due to their time in service, seniority in rank, or perhaps their relation with Aryte (I.E. E6-7 with an E5 NCOIC). To the best of my knoledge (and without digging through forum posts and handbook at this time due to being on my brother's laptop) the only real persons that I know of who can do things in such a mannor is the Praetorians. Even so, they offer the professional courtisy of announcing their intentions over comms and/or Vent so that the OIC/NCOIC is properly advised of the situation. In every case that I have seen a praetorian act in such a way, they have announced their intentions in one form or another. Anyone holding defense command is in effect an officer of the watch. They are given temporary powers that may or may not exceede their current rank. Most importantly is the case of the NCOIC who are charged with making officer grade decisions in the manner of defense while the officer cadre is unavalable or off base/line. The Imperator himself has clarified this fact for us here. So what they say defense wise goes. Just as if a WO, Commissioned Officer, Praetorian, or the Emperator himself gave it. The IC stands for In Charge. ---- Call to Arms. Yes, this has been a problem. Not so much in the fact of people not showing up late night (most cases the defense force can handle attackers up to equal in size. I have personally taken part in actions that the defenders has been outnumbered and held the hour long defense to just a pair of breaches of the green line. Ordo has Quality warriors within its ranks. While most of the time we can keep them back in such a manner, there's times where that's not always the case. Case in point: Geodan; He's a compitant fighter. He's been able to breach the walls solo with a modest garrison force on the walls. One time he came attacking, and we had like 3 active defenders at the time. A call went out over group chat for reinforcements to help keep him out of the base, as he had already breached it once before the call went out. One of the replys that came back was quite disheartining: "Come on guys, We're Ordo! You can handle it!" Needless to say, they did not show up on base, But many did. They were Ordo. The person who replyed with that message was not in my eyes. At the time I worked 2 SL CSR jobs. Currently just 1 ouside of Ordo. There's times where I'm stuck or called away to help a customer or hold down the shop during heavy traffic times. If a call comes out, I either respond with "I'm tied up with holding down the shop atm," or I simply dont respond and keep the tab open or hop in vent so I can track the progress. If things are hot and heavy, and I finnish up w/ a customer or one of my co workers comes online and can hand off to them, then I'm on base and shooting as fast as I can TP home. In a nut shell, if you cant make it, let the people on the other end know, or at best, dont reply. Quite frankly, if you reply with something like "you can handle it!" You're pretty much CIR bait.
  17. /bump - There was some questions in comms in relation to this.
  18. "Is now a bad time to inform you that this was wave 1 of 3?" - Aryte after 2 hr raid against MC w/ 2 core detonations.
  19. It's been a couple months since my last observations report I made when I was just a couple weeks into Ordo. For those who have not seen it, or would like a refresher on what I covered, You can find it here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/3061-newcomers-obersvations/ Be warned, It's quite a read, But it received alot of feedback and some supporting discussion as well. And as typical with most of my posts on the boards, This one may be a bit of a read as well. I had touched on Defensive ops in the previous thread I started, and it appears that things are still having problems in those same areas that I've written about, so I'm gonna reiterate them again in this post, as well as add a few more things to it that I have been noticing becoming a potential to a current problem. Part 1: Defensive Operations. Clustering: Again, I'm pointing out the major problem of clustering in one area. People fight over the 'sweet spot' on the map by clustering in the same area and getting into each other's way, while at the same time making extremely tasty targets of opportunity for attacking forces Explosive based weapons. Nothing like watching 3-5 yellow dots disappear to a single explosion to make you facepalm. That is also typically when the big gap opens and the attackers push through and into the green zone leaving the few people who are defending the other side of the sim try to scramble to cover the hole. People should be spread out at least 5+ meters apart on the ground. Not only does this prevent losing multiple ground forces to explosions, but it allows for quicker response to filling gaps in the line from casualties, and increases the angles of fire that you have against an enemy target. There has been plenty of times where everyone's camping in one spot waiting for the enemy to pop out and all the while, 20 meters to the left, you have a clear shot at the person. The Migrating Mass: Another issue: That big cluster of people tend to migrate together depending on where the attacker(s) happen to be running. Since this is typically people running to the south, that's where the huge blob of people are sitting. Simply put. Pick a spot, and stay there, moving to fill gaps in the line, but not constantly running from one side to the other. Watch your lane and be sure to cover your guys to the left and right of you. Another issue I've seen with this, An attacker attacks for a bit on one side of the sim. EVERYONE runs to that side of the sim to try to shoot them. The die, respawn, and quick it to the other side of the sim where there is no defense, Make it to the green zone and shoot down defenders crossing open ground trying to cover the gap that Aryte's Death star can drive through. Holes in the Line: Yeah, there's a definite theme to this. You have friggin huge gaps in the line all the time. 10 people in the south, maby 2 in the center and 1-2 in the North. Now, If I was an opposing commander, I'd put a distraction force to the S to kepe them there, run a couple people to mid/south to provide cover fire for the troops I'm sending across the ravine, pick off the n defenders and NetTP everyone but a few to the North to flank the S defenders and assault/seize the wall. The N attackers would be the hammer, and the South the Anvil. Jet people on to the walls to cover the doors, secure the wall, and farm the hell out of defenders as they try to come out to repel us. you spread out your defense, there's less opportunities to do this and provide more cover on the red zone, as well as being able to fill holes left by casualties, and provide reinforcements if need be to strengthen an area. And by Reinforcements, I mean moving a couple more people over there, not the whole line. Running into friendly Line of Fire: I have too many instances where there are people running in front of me, or jumping in front of me when i'm firing or about to fire on a target so that they can get a better angle for them to try and get the kill shot. This causes me to try and avoid hitting said person with my own fire, as well as interfering with a shot that might of taken the hostile out. If you plan on shifting your position, Move behind people, and not in front of them. Dont jump in a manner that will bring you into the line of fire of the person to your left or right. Situational and spacial awareness. The minimap gives you a good idea if there's someone next to you, take a second to look where you're moving to to make sure you dont get caught in friendly fire or making the person you're moving past move around/avoid you. Also, If you see fire shooting at the enemy from above you, There's someone on the wall shooting down. Dont jump/jet into their path to get a better shot at the enemy, They have it covered. Layered Defense: We have a wall. Dont see people use it that often. Most the time I see people make it past the wall is because everyone is down on the ground out front and got killed with the second line of defense non existent. If you get shot, see that there's lots of spaces on the wall that can be filled, Fill it. 1/2 the force should be on the wall, and the other half on the ground. "LAWLZ! I killed him most!" : There is excessive amounts of showboating 'That was me! I got him! LOOK HOW AWESOME I AM!' style activity going on. It looks more like everyone is freelancing and running solo to try and get the high score to rub it into everyone's face. As stated all the time on vent when someone asks who got the kill: It doesn't matter, He's dead, get ready for the next wave. Ordo is a Team. Not a Contest. You have people running back and forth all over the sim to try and personally shoot everyone they can. There's no need. There's no official kill counter that gives you the 'Shiny Imperator's Uber Medal of Pure Awesomeness +3!' Everyone wants to be able to kill the person. Yes. That's one of the reasons why we're here. To kill shit. Just dont let that get in the way and leave vulnerabilities in the line, or fuel your ego with e-peen stroking. We're not defending anything on raids except the medic point. Get your body count there. People having ADD on defense: This is beginning to become a big problem. Someone stands still someplace for 2 minuits, and people start digging through their inventories for Arty to blast them with while constantly spamming vent with 'I Can has boomz plz nao kthx' over and over. OIC says wait a few more min before a decision is made, yet the person waits 30 seconds and blasts them with arty fire. Someone is sitting in the spawn for a couple minuets, maby reading the rules, tweaking their settings, or caught up in an IM that just poped up, and People start bugging the OIC if they can run into the spawn and knife them. Not jsut once, But Repeatedly asking over and over. Back when I started out, I would ask if the OIC would enact regulation IX-905b: IX-905: Enemies may linger within the spawn as long as they wish; the only exception would be valid override by command on the basis of: b. Enemy party idling, unresponsive, simply loitering. Difference was, There was a 10 min idle limit back then, So I would ask between 10-15 min of them just sitting there w/ a gray cam, not waiting only 2-3min. Since the timer has been removed, I've sense ceased suggesting. Keep in mind, the OIC will Authorize AND assign a person (if they do not do it themselves) To move into the spawn to take care of the individual(s) when and IF there is a call/need for it. The same goes for inactive parties outside of the spawn. Constantly asking over and over in vent/coms "Can I go kill him in the spawn?!!!?!!! Can I Mortar Him?!!!?! Can I rez my Adominator and Nuke him from orbit :D :D :D :D!?!!@!" every 2 seconds. Is not needed, and Frankly, is annoying. ====== Part 2: Comms - Vent and /2 There's alot of stuff that's passed over vent. Voice > Text. But alot of important information is not passed over onto the /2 comms side of things for those who may not be in vent or are in different channels during defensive actions. there is also instances where stuff said over /2 is not too closely watched by those in vent. I'm guilty of doing both of these, and I'm working at improving on that. ==================================== Granted alot of this stuff I've posted is a repeat of what I've posted in the previous thread I linked at the top of the novel. The reason is simple; We have not fixed/addressed any of the issues. I'm trying to help improve the effectiveness of the group.
  20. From an E1-2 Astra point of view, Being stuck w/ the SMG/pistol for most of our combat (which takes place as med-long range for the most part) Kinda sucks. I rarely use the MP5 unless I'm trying to shoot down jet-packers or i'm pretty close in to the enemy and need a bit higher rate of fire, Otherwise, I use the pistol most of the time. It's accurate, but lacks the ROF that most others have. My solution to this is that I bought a Bolter. I have yet to be able to use it on raids, as all of the raids I've been on are issued weapons only (Sniping w/ the Pistol! WOOT!) But on Defense, the Bolter is nice thing to have. The use of aftermarket Small Arms (pistol/SMG/AR) is not something that should be restricted IMO, so long as they meet the limitations of the basic issued weaponry. (I.E. AR w/ a 100 rnd c-clip is probably a bit much imo.) I admit, Like a day after I graduated Schola, I went out and bought a FOS. Big Badass E1 with a Assault Cannon. Hooah! - Then I realized that It was rather unsporting for the guy attacking to be mowed down by the insane ROF and Ammo cap of the FOS (and all the others w/ it) That I switched back to pistol/MP5 untill I bought the bolter. The FOS only comes out if a mech/vehicle or We're short handed on defense against a larger force. Restriction of Heavy Weapon equivalents is a good idea IMO. Gives you something to work for and earn, as well as cut down on the 21 minigun salute when someone walks in sim. On top of that, for qualification/training and whatnot, You're required to have the unlocked ordo weapons anyways, So there's a benefit to unlocking those lower tiers anyways. Pistol/SMG/AR - Unrestricted (Possible exception, Mag size) LMG/Minigun/Explosives - equivalent unlock required And I agree with putting up a vote.
  21. I personally do not feel it is off base. I am aware that the Schola program has been revamped and went from a 4 phase to a 6 phase program. I thought I was going to get recycled into the 6 phase program when I was in Schola. My point of view was from my experience. Yes, I have not gone through or know about the new setup, But I was in no way trying to compare it with the 4 phase version that I went through. I apologize if I failed to convey that intention in my writing of the original post. IV-408: Assault authority (in any capacity) is strictly limited to the Office of the Imperator-- no other official may sanction offensive maneuvers. ===(also, thanks for the Help Silver) [16:26] Silver Meridoc: [ E-5 ] Vexillarius (Equivalent to: Staff Sergeant) - Mid-level NCO, with greater discretion in enforcing policies. Furthermore, Vexillarius receive the capability to lead assaults with approval of the Imperator. - Vexillarius receive another (1) unlock point, able to be redeemed for technology. According to the above, It is not required for the Emperator (or his alts) to lead raids. if we managed to get the near 250 ordo we have to be online, I'm sure we have enough E-5+ to lead a raid on every military sim out there at the same time. The plans for the raid just need Aryte's Stamp of Approval prior to execution. My comments on the Database was based off of what I've seen mentioned in the Weekly meetings: Ordo Meeting 4/25/09 [19:00] Aryte Vesperia: To add: please list the merits you have earned in your forum signature! [19:01] Aryte Vesperia: It helps keep track, especially for your unit officers. - meeting, 5/2/09 [18:58] Scientific Waffle: If I am offline and you need to IM me about this, also send me a refilled merit form. [18:59] Scientific Waffle: I delete merit forms I have gone through, so if there was an error I will not still have your merit form. It sounded like there was no real form of Merit/award tracking outside of forum sigs. While doing some Digging, I did find this: So I withdraw that statement. It was a newbie mistake. ===== Yeah, Learned about that feature when I was wondering how people knew I TPed back to my home point inside the base from another sim. Normal non-combat situations where Joe Shmo shows up, it's not a problem. I have yet to see a neutral party get shot while things are quiet. The Problem comes up when We're in the middle of being attacked. I.E. People shooting at us. Neutral guy comes on (and typically they're quite oblivious to bullets flying about) walks over the bridge and gets plugged by Mini-gun fire from 3 points on the wall. Neutral is called, but at the range you typically shoot at people, the name does not pop up unless you altcam them. I see this happen frequently. ================== I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm trying to convey my train of thought and try to clear up any parts that may of been confusing. Words are not my strong point. Thanks to everyone else who Posted comments. They are much appreciated.
  22. Not sure if you guys get something like this too often, But I do these things with groups I join that is organized PVP. I've done this with some FPS groups I've joined over the years, as well as in MMOs when My guild joins an Alliance or what not. --- Part 1: training Schola was Pretty much what I was expecting it to be. Bookwork, lectures, and a fun shoot em up op at the end. I had Zero Itamae hold a late night 1-2 class for me (and 1 other person who did not make it past phase 1) that ran past 2AM SLT. Jester Spearmann Ran myself and another cadet through phase 3-4. Both instances it was either myself, or with another person, and running about 3 hours each. I appreciate the dedication and willingness to put aside the time for just 1 or 2 recruits. Flight training was a bit of hit and miss, But understandable with people on leave and the crunch time for finals. Geo kept me busy good enough. The training sessions were alot of fun. Dog fighting was a blast and quite intense. One thing I think that would be good to add would be a tour of the complex (range, armory, radar/meeting room, sugested home point locations, etc) to help get new recruits their berrings a bit better. I stepped out of Schola and really only knew where the classroom, Armory, and outside was. I ended up doing alot of camming around to see where everything was, and exploring, with the hope that I did not run into some restricted area and get my head loped off by a Curia's chainsword. --- Part 2: Defense. This is where I have probably most to comment on. As most of my activity on Titan and in the ordo has been on defense. People are quite quick to respond and move to positions when the alarm goes off. Most people tend to have their favorite spots, as I typically see them in the same places. It appears that 98% of the time the attackers are going to run south and into the tunnel. As a reaction, That's typically where you see a majority of the dots focused with people outside the gates. This poses a couple problems IMO. Example: There were maby a couple people outside the wall when I jumped into Titan. I noticed that the S hill was vacant, so I decided to go sit up there for a while. Geo and Rebel pop into sim and people move to defend and fight off the attackers. It went from Me being on the hill, to myself and like 3-4 other people on the same hill. There were probably 5-6 other people to the right of me and maby 2 up on the tank. Problem 1: Too many people all in the same area. I've had many times where I would have people jet into my fire lane or run back and forth through it. Most of the time on Defense, I'm zoomed in 3-4 times so that I can get a better view of the target, as well as able to guess where they're at by being able to zero my LOS cone on their dot. So that means I cant exactly see who is bouncing around to the left or right of me. Or the person who's about to drop right in front of me after jetting up into the air. I've Already caught one person in my fire who jumpped down into it. I dont go down to the South part of the map because of that. I dont want to shoot anyone else cause of the gaggle frak of bodies flying about down there. Problem 2: When I noticed that there were way too many people in such a small area, I took a quick glance at my mini-map. There was a concentration of green to the S, and only 2 dots up to the North. 10-15 people outside the gates, and there are 2 watching the N. That's reason 2 why I stick to the North. There is not many people who want to guard the 'quiet' side of the map. Exception: Silver and vennie. (sorry if I misspelled, and If I missed any others that frequent the quite side of the sim. I remember tiger and Mouse.) IMO People need to spread out evenly along the length of the trench. Most of these guys tend to attack for hours. The OIC/NCOIC could rotate people out from the N to the S to make sure everyone gets a chance at shooting Geo in the face. Plus with everyone in close proximity, Yer arty fodder waiting to happen. -- Speaky of Arty. Explosives and such being deployed by the enemy: Yet another thing I've noticed. One person on the attacking side pulls out and uses a 203, and next thing you know, 1/2 of Ordo is packing plasma cannons or Missile launchers and nuking the crap out of all the defenders, reguardless of what their target is using to shoot back at them. I understand that people want to be able to use their big bada booms that they rarely get to use, but seriously; You have one guy who pops over the hill and gets a barrage that would make their little 203 look like a joke. This also leave the person who is not using arty/explosives getting lit up the same way, when they were not the ones who escalated it. That and there's a chance that they dont even know the guy who did bring out the explosives. When An air target hits the sim, Astra is supposed to equal plus 1 it. 1 hostile aircraft = 2 astra aircraft. 2 hostile = 3 astra. This gives us the defensive advantage, without going overkill and they're less likely to just stick to the ground. I think the same aspect could be applied to the use of heavy weapons. For every 1, allow 2 in response, And only use it against the target who's using the explosives. (possible exception would be against a sizable invading army. Also, if non-arty using individual was shooting at you, dont be a victim.). If there is a person in the Radar room, they could help direct fire for the Heavy weapons team so that they can These individuals could be rotated around as well, to allow for others to use their weapons too. Hell, if I had a huge plasma belching beast, I'd want to shoot people with it too. Besides, it makes a cool charge sound too! --- The way I see it, We want people to attack us. Provides a nice break from me trying to levitate the base with my mind. We should be able to provide a challenge to people on close to equal terms and have fun doing it. === Part 3: Raids: Have not been able to go on one yet, But From what I hear, they're fun. Only thing I can think of is maby have a couple raids a day. Why make it EU every other day? Could have the EU and US raids on the same day, every day. Granted I've only been around during the busy time for school, and have no idea if this is normal or how summer ops work. but here's hoping. === Part 4: Coms: I just recently got a Vent account, so I cant comment on that. /2 coms seem pretty good. Heard a couple times OIC directing defensive traffic, and updating people on location and direction of hostiles (i.e. target heading middle pipe, Need [name] to move north more to fill that gap by the bridge) Off topic chatter (outside of hostiles just BSing in the spawn) has been minimal. Something that would be more helpful when you have neutral people who show up exploring the sim during combat would be to announce a description along with the name. At typical engagement range, you cannot see the name tags above people's heads, and typically you shoot first, and ID the corpse after. It's fairly easy when it comes to Critters who stumble across the sim. "[name] is unarmed/neutral, dont shoot the cat!" - Humans could be described by color of clothing or something easily seen at range. If they're moving, "Neutral moving towards [landmark]" I've seen way too many neutral parties caught in the crossfire, and that neutral could of been a potential recruit that just got lit up. =========== Part 5: Organization. I seriously dig it. I've seen better organization here, than I have in most other groups/mmo guilds/etc. The Weekly meeting I especially like. It allows everyone to keep up to date and address issues in an open arena. It's organized, directed, and made of pure awesome. After action review/combat reports. Yus! - You'd be surprised how hard it is to get people to do this. I was impressed alot when I first saw those posts. I heard someone talking about working at keeping central records of awards and such, which is a good move imo. Was planning on suggesting that. ============= Part 6: TL;DR (For candidates of code Seven-Beta.) I'm extremely impressed thus far with Ordo, and i'm proud to be a part of it. The dedication that people display for keeping things running, Training, and all the scary behind the scenes work is commendable. The things I pointed out are from a personal observation standpoint that I thought would be keen to make mention of, for a moment of consideration, if nothing else.
