  1. Both the Q6600 and 9800GTX are consuming pretty much the same, if not more power from the PSU then the parts you're thinking of getting*, so investing in a new one wouldn't make so much of a difference.

    If I go from a site like Newegg; the following would be a nice upgrade, within budget.

    Intel Core i7 2600 - $300

    Asus P8P67 LE(v3) - $133

    Kingston ValueRAM 2x4GB $43

    Total: $476

    Obviously a similar set can be made with an AMD Phenom II X6 processor, but from personal experience going from such CPU to the i7 2600, the Intel platform wins in performance. Heck, I hardly felt any difference when I originally upgraded from my Q6600 to the AMD Phenom II X6 (1100T).

    edit; if you settle for an i5 (eg 2500), which is still pretty good, or similarly from the AMD platform, you can squeeze in your beloved SSD with maybe just a margin over the $500 line; since the i5 is around $200.

    * eg; Q6600 has a TDP of 105, while the i7 2600 has one of 95W and has more clockdown/saving-features.

  2. Well, I swapped cars and finally got something decent to show :laugh:

    Specifications:

    Nissan 100NX 1.6, 1996.

    154,600km @ purchase (96,063.9863 miles)

    102BHP/75kW (injection)

    Consumption: ~ 1:12.5, 7.89l/100km

    *awesome feature; one can take the roofpanels off; awwwyeh.

  3. Manufacturer: Knight Industries :plot:

    Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 2600k

    Memory: 16384MB (16GB) RAM

    Video Card: Asus (nVidia) MATRIX GTX580 1.5GB

    Monitor: LG 32LD450 (32.0") + LG Flatron E2240T (21.5")

    Sound Card: Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Professional PCI-e

    Speakers/Headphones: Pioneer VSX-D510 Receiver + 5.1 set Pioneer 80W RMS (8 Ohm)

    Mouse: Logitech G500 + Logitech B110

    Mouse Surface: Steelseries SX

    Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    As for Phenom II vs. i7. Both have their right to exist. i7's might perform better, but Phenom II's are not that far behind and performs very well for its lower pricetag.

  4. It is indeed pretty close;

    * August 17 - 21, 2011

    * Maritim Hotel Magdeburg, Germany

    Sadly it's on the other side of Germany from my end though. And the registration fee is quite high, if I compare it to cons like AC, RF or MFF.

    Anyhows, this sounds like a very nice idea for european members which can't make it to cons like AC :D

  5. "BT, ma'am/sir... if you are unwilling to give me a proper internet experience from your service I am more then willing to switch over to one of your competitors. Now... how about it?"

    *hope yer able to, if they keep giving shitty service like that.
