Mmmm, any specifics on what the malware tries to do with the system? To be sure anyhow I scanned my sytem.. but no results (luckily? :P). Still, sad that some have the need to do stuff like that *shrug*

I haven't used XP x64 in a long while, but at least till that time I have experience with both AVG and Avira Antivirus. Stopped using AVG upon its AVG8 release since it became too bulky in my opinion. In any case, I doubt Avast would be a bad choice (or Avira for that matter), and the only solution you really have to avoid is Symantec/Norton.
