Jason Backer, E-5, submitted an honorable resignation and provided a heart-warming, respectful note to my person in regards to his position and reasoning. Mr. Backer, as many of you knew, was once an Alliance Navy admiral prior to joining the Ordo. The AN's leader (as of yesterday), Bizcuit Vanbrugh, stepped down and added a tick mark toward the AN's difficulites. Mr. Backer was approached with the possibility of taking the reigns. Although I must say it is with great regret that I see him leave, I am thrilled and infused with a sense of relief to see the AN now under his watch. Jason is one of the finest, most diligent individuals I have ever met. Beyond that, he has presented a sense of loyalty and honor to the Ordo Imperialis, without pause. It is now a new era, one that has erased years of history and a tendency for xenophobia between the AN and Ordo. The AN can be considered friends under Jason's regime, and we will work to ensure a lasting relationship. I have offered the Ordo's assistance in any field-- whether militarily, intelligence, or material wise. We will ensure his success, and through that, ensure the continued legacy of a great organization, and the quality of the military community at a whole. Congratulations Jason Backer, I wish you the best and I look forward to working with you again. Beyond that, I do hope that former AN do consider remaining here with us in the Ordo, however I would understand if the desire to possibly return under the new leadership took hold. Please notify me privately if that is the case. I will work to facilitate a smooth transition with Jason. Thank you all!

There was an attempted coup on Roo Tenk by various EU officers. Standby for information. EU visitation rights restored. The "no Ordo" order was passed down by EU traitors/defectors.
-
Please refrain from visiting EU's base until further notice. A junior officer said we're not allowed to go there . . but Roo didn't say anything. So we're waiting on his word. Durp durp. Somethin' fishy!

Aryte Vesperia: Legates Xang Xiao has officially announced an extended need for inactivity on account of his military career (thank you Korea). As such, he has stepped down from the position of Terra supreme commander. Xang Xiao's service within the Ordo is one that has stretched back for years, his return is inevitable. Over the course of his career, he was responsible for revolutionizing and preparing Terra for the combat events of today. His presence will be missed. In honor of Xang Xiao, he has been instated as a permanent O-2 and provided an indefinite leave of absence without penalty. We wish him the best of luck and pray for his safe return to us. It is, however, with a great deal of pleasure that I am able to now pass Terra into the immediate successor: Lestat Umarov. As Xang's assistant and senior most Centurion, Lestat has held up and been integral in the success of the Ordo's combined ground forces. He is not only one of my most respected and talented officers, but he is an incredible friend. I know in his hands, Terra will only prosper and achieve heights beyond all expectations. He will maintain current duties in addition to Legates, allowing for a smooth transition. At this time, I'd like to turn the floor over to Legates Umarov. [15:16] Lestat Umarov: Thank you sir. [15:16] Lestat Umarov: Listen closely my Compatriots, Brothers and Sisters of our Ordo, my Friends. [15:16] Lestat Umarov: I see before me the most powerful fighting force on the grid, a legion unsurpassed by even the combined might of all those who seek to destroy us. [15:16] Lestat Umarov: I look at each and every one of you, and I'm reminded of myself. I, like you, had to start from square one. An Ordo enlisted. [15:17] Lestat Umarov: The path from E-1 to where I stand now was certainly not a smooth one by any means. There were hardships, and there were triumphs. But through it all, I had one thing. [15:17] Lestat Umarov: Faith. [15:17] Lestat Umarov: Faith in something greater than myself. [15:17] Lestat Umarov: Faith in the ability of a diverse group of people to set aside their differences, and work together for the greater good! [15:17] Lestat Umarov: I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the assistance and cooperation of my superiors and brothers in arms. Xang, Intus, Soulbinder, Eazy(Devastator:P), Sosarin, Aryte... [15:17] Lestat Umarov: Just a small list of those who helped me set a foot in the right direction and set aside any doubts I had in myself. [15:18] Lestat Umarov: And thanks to them... [15:18] Lestat Umarov: Thanks to YOU. [15:18] Lestat Umarov: Here I am. [15:18] Lestat Umarov: I'd like to thank each and every one of you, for giving their all to the Ordo on a daily basis. Our strength lies in our cooperation and our discipline, and I can say bar none...that The Ordo Imperialis is the best damn army on the grid! [15:18] Lestat Umarov: If you don't believe me, take a look at our history. We're the only other superpower left on the grid, after nearly two years....And we're still growing. [15:18] Lestat Umarov: As a Cohors commander I gave 110% effort ar all times. The only thing I asked of my troops was for them to do their best. [15:18] Lestat Umarov: And none of this shall change, even though I now attain a higher office. [15:19] Lestat Umarov: I am indebted to your efforts, and humbled by the responsibility. [15:19] Lestat Umarov: And as always, I shall serve you, and the Imperator, as I have always done so before. [15:19] Lestat Umarov: So in closing... [15:19] Lestat Umarov: Stay motivated. [15:19] Lestat Umarov: Keep the faith. [15:19] Lestat Umarov: Glory to the Imperium. Pro patria. [15:19] Lestat Umarov snaps to attention, delivering a clean salute!

The question was proposed to me (or rather, referenced to me down the grapevine): "Why is Aryte the only one allowed to OK attacks?" I assume this is a curiosity shared by at least more than one person, so I figured it'd be worth touching on for clarity. Let me begin by clearing up a common misconception: however it is true that it is necessary for me to approve all assaults, it is not necessary for me to be present to lead or even be present/online for an assault. Officers have had the capability to pre-plan attacks for a very, very long time. The privilege is utilized . . actually a lot more than most would realize. This can be seen in the weekly alpha-unit specific raids, such as the Antesegnani attacks that Gulliver Carpool plans. But, to the base of the question: why only me? There are several reasons. 1. Control and accountability: if every assault must be sanctioned, every assault is known of and has a degree of control over it, allowing for an effective routine of policy provision. This allows that the Ordo is consistent in its quality and goals in assault-- to be respectful, provide the opportunity for fun, while projecting an air of dominance on the field. 2. Supervision of judgment: as the public face and direct supervisor of the Ordo, all actions of the Ordo directly reflect upon me. As such, it only makes valid sense that I have a hand in ensuring the most vivid example of our group--combat--is supervised. The Ordo has always been a dictatorship, with a monolithic control. I run the Ordo democratically in the sense of policy, not because I have to. 3. Professionalism: haphazard application of military might is chaotic and, however it may grant amusement for the participants at the time, runs the risk of poorly representing the group and its ideals. The Ordo has a high retention rate because of the strict element of control and professionalism, not because we pew-pew things. 4. Tactical and strategic advantage: half the battle is planning to win. Although I do have a great deal of trust for my officers and battlefield commanders, the Ordo maintains a significant advantage by choosing our battles. I've had a few individuals point to the Merczateers and go "well, they let some of their under officers lead attacks. It works for them!" Well yes, that's true. The Merczateers do allow for some officers to organize combat, dependent upon the rating of the groups involved-- IE: high value targets can only be attacked by generals, whereas low value targets can be attacked by junior officers, etc. Again, I stress . . Ordo officers can do the very same with forethought! Perhaps this power simply has not been explored enough. If a "high value vs. low value" target list would assist officers, I can draft one up. It was suggested that the Ordo "could be viewed as weak" because of the assumed policies on assaults that we use. Straight from the New Jessie War Journal, I quote:
