  1. a lot of Cruisers in Texas has been switching over to Chargers. Corpus has been sticking to the ford Police Interceptor (enhanced crowne victoria) while the gateway city uses 2012 Chargers for police cruisers

  2. Here's an interesting comparison between Austin and Dallas. Obviously don't take this completely to heart but from personal experience I support it.

    http://www.traveland...llas-fort-worth

Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in the US at the moment, and as Disembodied stated it's a tech and music center. It's very scenic and in the hill country due to the colorado river. Lots of lakes and parks.

Dallas is huge, and lots of money. Everyone I've met that has lived in Dallas didn't like it at all. Just a forewarning.

San Antonio is also growing. Not sure of it's industry though. Unfortunately lots of slums.

El Paso is becoming a slum but it's not bad. Aside from there steer clear of anywhere west Texas (including Lubbock), there's nothing out there but tumbleweed and oil derricks.

Houston is big and dirty (not as big as Dallas/Ft.W), petrochemical growth. I've been there a few times, I noticed smog.

Corpus Christi is a beach city. I go there to go to the beach/vacation. Not sure of it's growth.

Corpus is starting to grow faster now. We kicked out all of the elder councle members (figuratively speaking. Not saying all of them weren't innovative or old but quite a few of them were long time citizens and were against city growth) that were scared of change and wanted to preserve the city. But yeah, the only real problem you have with Corpus is the humidity, which, even though temperatures would be mid 90's to high 90's (peaking in the 100's) during the summer, the heat index can hit 105 - 110 (115 on rare occasions).

My aunt is a persecution lawyer in Dallas and she says crime rate is surprisingly low over there. but yeah, it's a pretty cool city. I'm going to be visiting it a lot this year and early next year (Furry Fiesta, Dallas cowboy games and whatnot).

    EDIT: To verify Intus

Houston as a city is larger than Dallas population-wise, However the Dallas/Arlington/Ft. Worth Statistical metropolitan area is larger in population than the Houston/Sugarland/Baytown SMA

EDIT EDIT SEB IS HAVING A HARD TIME KEEPING UP WITH REPLIES:

SA can be very nice in some Areas from what I heqar from my friends in San Antonio. I suppose it's just a few areas in the City. Could leave that sort of mixed impression, SA covers a lot of land.

  3. I havent lived either, but we drove through it this year to go to the frio and it was definitely run-down in more places than not.

Ahhh, Usually my parents drive around SA to go to the frio so I wouldn't know. I did go through it to go to TFF but Onstar took me around the outer rim.

  4. Dont listen to seb, SA is a craphole. :|

It may be good to get a job, and good for passing through to see the alamo and some other historical shit, but its a dump.

Ah, well i only visited, never lived. been to the other bigger 3 more often than SA

  5. ^ There are plenty of suburb places you can get a high-paying job (McKinney, a suburb area I grew up in) and really only have to worry about traffic, teen angst, and maybe some domestic calls. Shootings are rare as shit.

Corpus isnt bad, though I hate being that far east. Texas heat + gulf = humidity and allergies.

    And south lol.

OH! And San Antonio is really cool. Big city, a lot of history, and it's rated to be one of the top cities to start off in after college so I'm assuming with that level, living should be pretty cheap there too.

Always a relief to reach SA when Driving

  6. Corpus Christi and it's pretty nice down here. Home of the USS Lexington, Has beaches, and last time I checked, We are hiring Police officers. It'd be an active city to work with for a cop, Not on a city out of control basis of course but they get plenty of calls. got 460.2 Sq Miles to cover The only shitty part of living down here is the humidity in the Summer x.x but most Texas cities are hot as hell anyways, even Dallas. Its a bit smaller than Austin but still relatively large.

Living can be cheap down here too. I have 640 Sq Ft at an apartment complex, 1 bed 1 bath, big kitchen. half free water, free cable, and paid for pest control for $560/mo

Houston, id never live there. Too big for my taste. Dallas is nice. I love visiting Dallas. I love Austin. Brownsville is alright. Though you'll probably be dealing with a LOT of spring breakers when that time comes around....but then again same for Corpus, but everyone prefers Port Aransas or South Padre Island

  7. Along with my music, I wanna design a Booth with surfaces for a projector to play visuals to be mapped on the surfaces. This method is relatively inexpensive (aside from a VERY GOOD projector) in regards to making it look professional. Already I have designed a scale model of the booth I wish to design. Unfortunately I could only go as far as building the model and testing the angles with visuals I already made for flat screens or flat surfaces, but some of them still looked cool :3 My progress is limited to my projector malfunctioning in the middle of mapping the surface x.x and I can't find any local repair shops online. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

This is what I have so far ^.^ I plan to likely change the design in the future when realizing it looks similar to something else but for now, this is what I have

  8. Just a few days ago, the latest Portal 2 update has included a new DLC that allows you to construct custom test chambers and submit them to the Steam Workshop for others to download if you so choose.

When it comes to the editor, There is the ability to switch to game view at a snap. However, whenever you make any changes to the design, you have to click the "rebuild" choice under the File menu or hit Build and play in the top toolbar to have the in-game rendering match your design. It takes a while depending on how much you put in it but they gave it a progress bar at least, lol. They do not give a visible limit in its UI on what you can add in there. There is a limit on how far/deep/tall/wide you can make a room or hallway but it isn't very limited thankfully. In terms of items added, the map will take as much as the game thinks your CPU can take (Which, fortunately, also isn't very limiting. If it's too much, it will tell you upon trying to rebuild the chamber). If you are on the edge of that limit, and you lag while you test it out, Fear not, these maps will be more optimized when you submit it to the workshop, and will be lag free (assuming your Machine has the specs to run Portal 2 well).

Playing community chambers is pretty fluid. What you would do is after going to the community chambers section and choosing play community chambers, you will be presented a Que list. When adding maps to the que, steam will open the workshop page and you'll be able to add featured maps, or subscribe to anyone that makes them so that they get added to your Que automatically upon it's submission. When playing the Que, it goes through each chamber like it was the Campaign mode, only without an actual story line and Cave Johnson talking to you in the test chambers instead of GLaDOS. I;ve been having a lot of fun with this new DLC. Upon completing a test chamber, before the lift takes you to the next one, it will ask you to rate it.

So far I've created and submitted one Chamber that I am relatively proud of ^.^ for a first.

    [media=]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snaWD26YYmM

Some of the lag in this video was due to running fraps and something happening with the External hard drive it was being recorded to. Also the countdown and music(obviously) isn't a part of the UI. I just put that there in the video for fun X3

If you are playing this new DLC as well, feel free to leave replies of your own Test Chambers or any recommendations you may have.

  9. I'd been thinking about a Terra Elite Squad that would be authorized to use the Malice in basically the same way the AAC would be authorized to pilot a fighter.

I'd like to sign up for this whenever it comes about.

I doubt we will be going that far. We would love the assistance in air superiority but we still need to keep most our duties within our division. Remember, this unit is at a "too few Astra and Praetorian" basis (hence the word Auxiliary). We just wanna ensure that terra is protected on the ground at all times :3

  10. Kevin Hefferman OR Adam Sandler as Tsume Xaio

    Nick Frost as Huttser Ishelwood

    Simon Peg as Rykiana Ferina

    Jim Sturgess as Afevis Sodertelge

    Jack Black as Twitchy

    James Montgomery Doohan as Digman
