After careful consideration and review of our current estate banishments, it has been determined that a significant number of the punishments are dated for years past. Unfortunately, until the last year, we have not had a proper means to keep track of banishments-- as such, many times an individual would accidentally receive a “permanent” ban for actions that would typically call for a temporary lockout. For those who were banned with the intent of permanency, this will be an act of mercy. Some exceptions do apply. Recently banned individuals, whom have already received large amount of mercy (for example, Dreadspyke Resident), shall remain on the banned list.Individuals who are listed on Mercury as of 28MAR12 as “Banned” shall be moved to a new group of classification titled “Recently Unbanned (Use Caution).” Entrants to the region with this tag should be provided the opportunity to demonstrate their intents. After which, reclassify the individual to their appropriate designation. For the most part, this action should have no effect on sim security. Individuals who have been banned for illegal activity, such as botting, are more than likely banned from Second Life entirely.
