Scarlet Flaks
Former GSC Game World developers that were fired or departed the company have founded Vostok Games and are developing a new free-to-play MMO-FPS based around what would have been STALKER2, which has been almost entirely canceled at this point. Survarium is a PC exclusive, and was announced that it should be released late (Q3-Q4) 2013.http://survarium.com/en/

Deadmon
TL;DR skip to the end for peeks of game environments and concepts. like 90% is "We were stalker, but we are a badass team and said Ffff the police so lets do something online and with open dialogue to the fan base"
Scarlet Flaks
They were fired/left GSC. Without the rights to the STALKER2 Intellectual Property, they had to make a new game title/franchise/etc. Supposedly STALKER2 is still in development with GSC Game World, but this separate team (which was a significant portion of GSC) is now formed to make Vostok Games, and is making Survarium. Krow Ames
If it's anything like Stalker 1, it'll taken ten years to release.

Deadmon
The Free-to-play scares me.Tribes Ascend is Free to play and is good, many people also like Blacklight Retribution which is good.Free to play is the path many designers are taking, because they want to have the option to nickle and dime you for optional booster packs or items. Krow Ames
Free-to-play's current definition: Pay us money to beat the shit out of other players.
Deadmon
In some games, others there is a lot more balance. I rock house in Tribes:Ascend but dont pay a dime.Paying can get you an edge, but in the best made F2P games you dont pay for game-breaking gear. Scarlet Flaks
That is not the definition of Free-to-Play, that's Pay-to-Win. The key difference behind that would be only if there are items exclusive to being purchased using real money, and/or that items purchased using real money have better statistics than 'free' weapons that don't require real life money to acquire. As of current, we don't know what weapons, gear, or anything about the game will be like, let alone if it will even have a payment or subscription model at all. All we know is the title, and the setting/theme.
Deadmon
I think it would be silly to assume they have a F2P model that doesnt have some sort of micro transactions.
