Aryte
As we went over in last week's meeting, we are looking to make some adjustments to how we handle interactions in SL. The pamphlet below is designed to be presented to folks when they enter Titan. I am attaching it here so you all can see what the average person in SL will be provided.More details will follow when this is live.◢ ◣The Ordo ImperialisSecond Life◥ ◤▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀Welcome to Titan! As of September of 2012, the Ordo Imperialis has grown to a multi-platform military gaming organization. As such, members of the Ordo are engaged and interacting over several separate games simultaneously. Currently, you can find us on the following: Second Life ARMA 2 Planetside 2That said, we do things a bit differently. Titan, our primary headquarters on Second Life, will most often be open for visitation. However, the mainstay of our interactions will be on a scheduled basis to facilitate the group's desire to participate in all of our various venues. We realize that this is a pretty large shift in the paradigm for the SLMC. With that in mind, we will make every available effort to accommodate groups that wish to interact with us. However, please understand that sometimes, at some hours, we are predisposed in defending Auraxis or rescuing downed pilots. That said, we wholeheartedly encourage groups to join us and cordially invite you to find us on any platform. We would love for you to join the fray!▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀Combat InteractionsYou will notice that the hub directs you to this post upon entering Titan. If the security barricades are down, that's the green light to feel free to start shooting or bring in your group. However, sometimes the security barricades are also deployed around spawn area. Do not despair! This does not mean we are closed: it means we are doing something else at the moment and we would like to communicate with you.If you are lone wolf or a loose number of attackers without affiliation, please feel free to pop in and see if the standing base commander is interested in entertaining you. Now, let me be fair and say: if it is four in the morning (sorry, most of you lone wolves), we probably will tell you to come back later. However, this is hardly set in stone: it is at the discretion of the defense lead, with heavy investment into whether or not we are busy elsewhere. If you are a representative of an organized military force, please give the defense commander a nudge and let them know you would like to attack. The defense commander will coordinate with standing forces via internal channels and muster a team. If we are in the middle of an operation on another game, we may ask you to try back later. Your point of contact will do their best to find a mutually agreeable time to accommodate. That said, please feel free to even speak with the base commander or an Ordo officer to arrange future events or even repeated events. Just because we are on other games, does not mean we do not want to hang out with you!If we just attacked you, you have full priority and we will ensure you have the chance to counter attack. If you would prefer we schedule times to attack you, please just let us know! We would be more than happy to.▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀VisitationNot involved with any of this combat nonsense and just want to visit (or apply for the Ordo)? No problem, just contact the base commander and he or she will get you cleared. If you are a repeated visitor with a vouch from an existing member, we'd be happy to even have you on our TS3 to participate with us in other games.▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀Why the change? We have been defending Titan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week since June of 2006. Frankly, we are tired of being constantly tied to Second Life by having to deal with predominantly small attacks. It is boring and it wears out our membership's desire to fight the organized groups. We, as an organization, have made the move to expand our horizons to include new games into our scope of influence. For example, we have an entirely separate section of the Ordo on Planetside 2, with dozens upon dozens of Ordo members who have never even touched Second Life.On the flip side, Second Life still has a lot of life left in it. We desire to interact with the other groups in the military community. On occasion, we would also be happy to interact with the lone wolves. From our perspective, if the community treats interactions on a more match-making based level, we will eliminate a lot of the negativity invested in the SLMC. Think about it. When you log off X FPS or X MMO, the game is left behind. You can move on and do something else without worry of it following you. When you log off SL, you are often nagged back because X group is attacking at an inopportune moment. This goes both ways. The Ordo will accommodate any desire to focus on scheduled events. Just speak up and let us know! Eventually, we will develop a schedule to assist other groups in finding times we are most available on Second Life. Our ultimate goal is to be able to say on a weekly basis "these days we will focus on SL, these days we will focus on PS2 (etc)." For now, just give us a holler any time and we will work with you to sate your interests in taking shots at our group.Thank you!
