Most Interesting (non pornagraphic) Movies on your shelf

Recommended Posts

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas- Not for the faint of heart, Johnny Depp impersonates Hunter S. Thompson so well. Not as good as the book but a well thought out representation.

Evil dead 2- A classic, Bruce Campbell is my hero!

Army of Darkness- This is my BOOM STICK!

Waking Life- A movie about lucid dreaming. I want to do that so bad now.

Requiem for a dream- oh my god

Let me see, think I can get behind this.

Equilibrium: Awesome movie about a futuristic society that appears to be a utopia on its surface and controls crime through suppressing what the government calls "offensive emotions" The movie went almost completely under the radar because it came out at the same time as the Matrix, if I'm not mistaken.

Star Ship Troopers 1-3: The only one that I would watch over and over is the first one. The second was a little to dramatic and the third, while it had bad ass mechs, was corny as all hell. Series about a futuristic earth and its military (The Mobile Infantry) battling a species of aliens that are all gigantic bugs.

Boondock Saints: DO I really need to explain this one. Go fucking watch it!

Event Horizon: One of the best horror movies of its time in my opinion. It centers around an older sci-fi premise of opening gate ways to Hell through the use of wormholes and temporal displation.

The Thing: Another awesome horror movie, this one about a shape changing alien that can look and appear like any living creature...what sets it apart is its adaptability...not going to ruin it if you haven't seen it. Highly recommended.

Went back over my collection of ripped movies. These are more along the lines of series though

=P

Miyamoto Musashi: A dramatic mini series about the life of one of Japan's greatest Samurai.

Shogun: This is, if I'm not mistaken, the first attempt the US made at a mini series. Its about 12 episodes long and has some DAMN good acting in it. Centers around a english trade sailor ending up shipwrecked on japan and how he actually becomes a pivotal destabalizer for one Lord's campaign against another. REALLY GOOD STORY. Highly, HIGHLY recommended.

Scarface: Enough said.

7 Samurai: I need to watch this one again. I barley remember it. There are three diffrent versions. Old black and white, old color, and anime. All of them were really good. I feel sorry for you if you ever played the PS2 game of the same name. Once I was finished I blue the disk to peaces with an m80 and burnt the book and casing and sprinkled holy water over what was left of it all.

Shogun Assassin: Part of the Lone Wolf and Cub series of movies...the first I believe. Damn good story with old fashion blood spraying from every wound Japanese theater goodness.

Valkyrie: I thought it was a really good Tom Cruise movie...with Bill Neigh to boot =D. About one of the failed inside attempts to assassinate Hitler.
