Sera Otoro Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 ever since i wiped my system and reinstalled Windows XP x64, my old McAfee was no longer able to function as it is unsupported, so im currently looking around for a good internet security software... so far ive asked briefly in ventrilo and heard AVG and Avast, but id like to get the best one available that is compatible with Windows XP x64...any suggestions...? Stopped using AVG upon its AVG8 release since it became too bulky in my opinion.In any case, I doubt Avast would be a bad choice (or Avira for that matter), and the only solution you really have to avoid is Symantec/Norton. Cygna Posted July 28, 2009 Share Posted July 28, 2009 I've been computing since I was 9, never had any installed virus security, never had a virus.If you're stupid and click "Yes" and "Agree" and "Install" on every popup (especially on porn websites, where they tend to be) you'll get a virus. Click "No" "Stop" "DO Not Install" and "Cancel" etc and you won't get a virus. Most file servers now today automatically virus check upon upload by the user, so anything you download from megadownload, rapidshare, even torrent, is "typical" virus free. If you download something from any website that resembles or is http://www.cracks.am/ (don't click this link) you'll get a virus. Cuz it's packed into one of my boxes at the moment.Elaborating a little: enterprise edition is a server version, only 10.5MB low resource requirements and a boat load of settings for how you want the on access scan to work.
