Ethan Schuman
Well, we had our first meeting today, and it went well.Meeting log available here:/>http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/7036-navis-focus-group-17feb10/A lot of good ideas and points were brought up. Because I know that there were people who wanted to attend but could not, I'm starting this thread for the entirety of Ordo to see and participate in.For the sake of keeping the discussion on track, I will list some of the primary problems we discussed.1) The community trend towards lower yield munitions greatly decreases the amount of firepower capital ships can pack.2) Traditional capital ships are high prim. This is a problem for homesteads.3) Traditional capital ships are script intensive. This is a problem for homesteads.4) Capital ships require multiple people to crew. In sims with low agent limits, the usefulness of several riflemen is often greater than that of a single capital ship.5) We must create and maintain interest in naval combat both inside and outside the Ordo.6) We must increase community acceptance of fleets.7) Navis must be able to fulfill roles to keep it both effective on the battlefield, and fun. These will be our primary talking points. If you think of additional obstacles we will face, list them, along with any solutions you may have in mind. Suggestions are welcome, all constructive input is appreciated. Please keep this thread on topic. I will post my followup later, but in the meantime, have at it.
