Early Game Access* for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ is only a few days away! Starting December 13, 2011, The Old Republic will begin emailing invitations to start your Early Game Access. Invitations will be sent throughout the Early Game Access period offering rolling access to the game in the order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code, so be sure to check your email inbox!

To ensure that players can get into the game as quickly as possible when their Early Game Access begins, we are now allowing everyone who has redeemed a Pre-Order Code at our Code Redemption Center to pre-load the game to their computer.

In order to download the game client before Early Game Access begins, you need have already logged into your account and redeemed your Pre-Order Code. Once you have done this, you can download the game client by clicking on “My Account” in the upper-right of the window and then click “Pre-Order.”

On your Pre-Order page, click the large button that says “Download Game Client” to begin download of the game!

If you participated in our recent Beta Testing Weekend between November 25th and 28th and still have the game client installed, you will be able to patch this client instead of re-installing by simply launching your client, logging in and allowing the download to complete. If you did not participate in the November 25th – 28th Beta Weekend, first uninstall the Game Testing Client and then re-install to ensure your game client will function correctly during Early Game Access.

Learn more about how to get ready for Early Game Access!

If you haven’t pre-ordered Star Wars: The Old Republic yet, you still have time. Visit our Pre-Order Page, secure your copy of the game and redeem your Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center to pre-load the client and qualify for Early Game Access.

If you have any issues installing or patching the game client for The Old Republic, check visit theCustomer Service Support section for information and assistance.

*Customers who redeem their Pre-Order Code at the Code Redemption Center prior to launch will be able to pre-load the Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Client before the official Game launch. Pre-loading the Game does not grant you access to the Game. Pre-Ordering the Game only allows you access to the Early Game Access period and your Color Crystal. Early Game Access may be up to 7 days. The length of your Early Game Access depends on the date and order in which you redeemed your Pre-Order Code. In order to continue playing the Game after the Early Game Access period, you must redeem your official Game Product Registration Code at the Code Redemption Center.

  2. A quite pencil drawing I did when I had an hour free earlier. Not as good as I would of liked because the features in the face and hands are very basic and quickly scrawled on the paper. Also had to darken the image in illustrator to bring out the shading because I didnt do that properly either >.< and that has the result of showing all the pencil dust smudges as well *sigh*

This one quickly became a pain but I decided to just leave alone in case I did something to mess it up

    Dont even try it

  3. Currently Working On

I decided to be a little vain as I get back into practice on drawing techniques ect as I have to admit its been a while and I need to get into the hang of it again.

I did all the rough sketching to get my angles, view line, folds in clothing, guide line for text height and what not, and now I am in the process of getting knee high in eraser dust as i get rid of the rough sketching and going back over with clearer more defined lines.

Still allot of detail to go back into this, shading, shadows, facial features, hair, Ordo logo and some other stuff.....not sure if I will draw in a background or not as I am conflicted as to if I should do the curia office, astra hangar or an over view of titan *shrugs* guess that's something for later, and once it is finally done I can scan it in and clean it up in a mix of photo shop and Illustrator to get rid of all the pencil dust smudges Etc.

But here is the image as it currently stands, and I have to admit, drawing formal's with the NCO coat....has been a bitch but I finally managed to get something that I think is smooth.

  4. Well,

as some people know I moved from a small town down on the south east coast of England into a big northern city, and Recently I finally got around to sorting through the last box of what I assumed was Junk. Much to my surprise I found one of my old folders that had a bunch of drawing's inside...the exact same drawings I thought destroyed when the roof fell in due to flooding in an old apartment of mine.

So happy to find them I figured I would take the chance to digitise them, so if anything happened to the originals I would still have them backed up somewhere. So im quite happily scanning away at 1200 DPI so they would be of a decent resolution, but it wasn't until afterwards I got a huge shock at just how detailed these were.

    Let me explain.....

Most straight scanned images save at a resolution anywehre between 380x 400 or 750 x 800, these images were coming through at near 13000 x 9000.......and here is a little thing to help you comprehend that......

Each square is 300 x 300 resolution, and it starts with one of my drawings at straight scanning resolution at 1200 DPI, then resized by 1/2, the 3rd by 1/2 again and same for the 4th, and just to help you out I put their resolution on there at the time they were reduced.

    shakedown.jpg

So yeah even reduced by 1/2 each time, by the 3rd time the resolution is still huge at 1295 x 1023, and even still is amazingly detailed, but i think the basis of the shock was the detail in the 10367 x 8184 image, its that good you see the fibres in the paper.........and whats more hard to believe....this was a cheap, shop bought five year old printer / scanner combo.

I guess I have to take back every bad thing I ever said about Epson >.<

But with all this, and with all the work shrinking the resolution, sticking in a signature and name of the image while taking out my scribbled lettering with pencil, and trying to keep the best detail possible, I finally managed to get them all done, and i thought I might share them with you...hence the name of the thread, and as i get more and more back into drawing in RL and not digitally through photo shop, I will post them here for everyone to giggle and snicker at.

So without further stalling for time....... Here they are:

(NOTE: the first three images have been drastically reduced...the rest however...well when click on them, see what happens when you zoom in :P)

    SEE YOU IN THE GAME!

  6. As of Dec 2nd 90% of the actions anyone could do in a guild were taken away. So it may be a case of you will have to join when you play. Also due to this im not even sure if its possible to join a guild through the guild HQ now as from the 2nd guilds were starting to be placed on their server's.

  7. Now what I've wondered is this...

I'm due for early access... yay for CE preorders right? Well... if hte game isnt released till the 20th.. does that mean I'm gonna have to download the enitre game to get that early access since I dont have the disks?

I mean.. thats gonna suck for Canadians.... who get SHIT monthly bandwidth allowances already. Just with my skyrim patches alone, I hit 75% of my useage in november.

OR will they be nice, and let people with early access, actualy pick their disks up early? Any clue?

If you get the full 5 days early access....which you should then yes you will unless as Krow said the retailer you brought it from ships early, however you should be allowed to download it up to 48 hours before early access begins so it gives you time to download the client.

  8. Reading the TOR updates on facebook I came accross one....

Dec 20th launch date... say what?

Is this confirmed via information anywhere else?

Only ever PC game review magazine, and website that has been running TOR articles since they announced the launch date....that and the big thing right on their front page of the site that says " Coming 12.20.11 Pre Order Now"

  9. I'm probably going to be looking for the Meridius Republic PvP, since I tend to go for PvP servers, although my favorite are PvP-RP.

Are there going to be PvP-RP servers that anyone knows of? I didn't see any but I also didn't go looking that much.

There will be four different server types in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Here's how they work generally, and details on how we're dealing with roleplaying (RP) servers:

PvE (Player vs Environment) – Players will have to manually flag themselves if they wish to engage in PvP outside of designated Warzones and Open World PvP areas.

PvP (Player vs Player) – Players are automatically flagged for PvP outside of the designated 'safe' areas (such as Origin Worlds, Capital Worlds, and the Republic/Imperial Fleets; see below for more info).

RP-PvE – Players are encouraged to roleplay and act ‘in-character’ while playing on an RP-PvE server. Players must manually flag themselves if they wish to engage in PvP outside of designated Warzones and Open World PvP areas.

RP-PvP – Players are encouraged to roleplay and act ‘in-character’ while playing on an RP-PvP server. Players are automatically flagged for PvP outside of the designated 'safe' areas (such as Origin Worlds, Capital Worlds, and the Republic/Imperial Fleets; see below for more info).

The pre-launch Guild Headquarters currently allows you to select between three different server types for your guild: PvE, PvP, and RP, which will determine your server placement during Phase 3: Deployment. During Deployment, we will be placing all eligible guilds that select 'RP' onto RP-PvE servers by default. If a guild wishes to exist on an RP-PvP server, they will need to create their guild manually on a new server once they reach their Capital World (Dromund Kaas or Coruscant) and create their guild.

The decision to make RP-PvP servers an option for players was made recently, which is why the choice was not available in the Guild Headquarters to start with. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but we hope you are as excited as we are to be able to choose this option for your guild in the game at launch.

    PvP server rulesets

We also wanted to expand on what the PvP server ruleset means in The Old Republic. The obvious overarching rule is that in general, if you see a player of the opposite faction, you may immediately engage them in combat.

The exception to this rule is sanctuaries, which are large areas where PvP may not take place, regardless of whether you are flagged or unflagged for PvP. Examples of this are the Origin Worlds (Tython, Ord Mantell, Hutta, and Korriban), the Capital Worlds for both sides (Dromund Kaas and Coruscant), and the Republic/Imperial Fleets.

Hopefully this post helps inform your decision as to which server type you'd like to play on at launch. If you haven’t already, create a guild on the Guild Headquarters so that you can get placed on a server before the game launches!
