  1. I joined the Ordo with the least amount of experience at the time. Seriously. The day I joined the Ordo was the same exact day I joined the combat community. The first sim I stopped by was Titan - many of you who were there remember; I had a pretty incriminating name, at the time. I immediately changed my display name, got myself outfitted into something more appropriate (although I wasn't wearing anything distasteful to begin with) and applied because I liked to look of the army I was looking at. Then I went to New Jessie after buying a Titan Industries weapon. Unfortunately, about three hours later I was sent a letter of denial from the person handling my application. I shrugged it off, because I understood the reason behind it - they cited no experience. So I went military-searching to see if I could get that experience they needed. Later that same night, though (or early morning; whatever time it was in Americaland) I was contacted by none other than Aryte Vesperia, who asked a few questions regarding my situation (Why I was in South Korea and what experience I had with the military). Once that was done, only a half-hour later I received a letter of acceptance into the Ordo Imperialis. Within the next four to five days I completed Schola. Within the month, I became a member of an elite squad. Now, almost one year after I joined the Ordo, I sit as the third in command over Evalidus as its Adjutant. I know I was an exception to a rule that has guided the Ordo recruitment for years, but I'm proud of how far I'd come and how much I'd proven myself worthy of the opportunity. The entire time I've had in this military has been the sole reason I stay on Second Life, and I would never give it up for anything else.

  3. What I'm really doing is ordering pizza with my posts.
  4. I'd rather leave the entire military community, altogether, than leave for Vernian. =/
  5. You're in control of only one carrier. This carrier has four VTOL aircraft and four sea/ground vehicles. You can take direct control of every unit. You can even take control of the turrets on the carrier. When the game's released, you'll be allowed to control infantry, as well.
  6. It's a little confusing to get used to, but it's pretty good. It plays nothing like Arma 2, which is kinda surprising. Beta testers don't have access to the infantry combat, but from what I've played so far - and since I have nothing else to compare it to - it plays like how I would imagine Planetside 2 handles.
  7. Just wanna be serious. "Kurama Bingyi Ordo Imperialis - Heavy Weapons Unit Equipment: Adjudicator LMG Heavy Weapons Ability - Suppression When this card comes into play, it may choose one card on the opposing side to prevent from proceeding with their turn. 'Adorned with a top-hat and monocle, Mr. Fishy always strikes down the enemy with deadly efficiency, and deadly style.'" EDIT: Changed to sound less conceited.
  8. Twitchy, (I think Heavy), and I blasted a cop to pieces when he stopped us at the primary checkpoint crossing the border. Heavy (I think) shot him up with the pistol, somehow dealing only minimum damage, and I finished it off with the XM8. Then after, we took the Humvee to the Terror camp and finished off the police raid going on there. It was glorious. Most fun I had in Arma in a while.

  10. SO tempted to buy the pre-order, but I need to save my money. x_x
  11. The book and movies were about a post-apocalyptic world in which twelve districts submit two "tributes" - a boy and a girl, in their youths - to fight against 22 other youths in a survival game to the absolute death, the victors bringing home glory and honor to their district. It's like if, uh, "The Most Dangerous Game" mixed with "Gamer," only much better than "Gamer."
  12. I'm probably not gonna be around long enough to see it through, but I'd be all over this if I were.
  13. He keeps IM'ing me, saying "I still need to finish you. :<" =/
  14. Yeah, looking back on it now, I really have no idea. I was inspired by the SCP Foundation, so to speak. Just thought it'd be a fun attempt at writing some sort of fictional case report.
  15. (( Modeled after SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation, found here. Something I just felt like doing. )) Case File #: C-01B-A78891 Subject ID: "Kalis," "Subject-Epsilon" Clearance Level: Authorization Level 00 Minimum Authorization Level 05 Minimum AIR Read-Only Authorization Type: Maximum Threat Potential Containment Procedure: [DATA EXPUNGED] Containment not possible. Complete elimination is recommended. Three Octeris Class Battleships positioned above discovery zone on ██████ ██████████ is necessary. Platform █████ destroyed with all evidence expunged. Description: "Subject-Epsilon" (Secondary designation, "Kalis") is a physical object located by recon teams on the surface of ██████ ██████████. As its properties were unknown, research teams relocated Subject Epsilon to Platform █████ near the Titan system. It is a solid-black monolith with no other appearance abnormalities. It was originally assumed it was a unique crystal formation, as ██████ ██████████ was widely known for its crystal reservoir. Subject Epsilon was studied by several research teams sent under Agentus in Rebus supervision. The Imperator is the only other individual outside of the AIR that had/has any knowledge of Subject Epsilon's existence. Physical contact was initially made by Dr. ████████ upon its arrival. Following physical contact, Dr. ████████ experienced slight nausea and suffered heavy memory loss for brief, intermittent moments. A log of his first medical examination following contact with Subject Epsilon shows that Dr. ████████ was also suffering hallucinations that had impeded his continued research. He was placed under quarantine following an incident (Referenced: Incident-001) that endangered the lives of all personnel on Platform █████. He was later found expired with signs of advanced decomposition in his quarters. Dr. ████████'s quarters were closed off and under containment. Research was not halted. Second contact was made by Dr. ████████████. Immediately after, Dr. ████████████ committed suicide (Referenced: Incident-002). AIR personnel aboard Platform █████ were advised to contain all personnel in holding areas, with Authorization Level 00 given to certain individuals. Research was temporarily postponed as further study was given to Subject Epsilon's influential properties. [DATA EXPUNGED] Properties: [DATA EXPUNGED] Addendum: Two research personnel were found catatonic in their quarters. Each had their eyes wide open, muttering incomprehensibly. By the time AIR personnel had arrived, both individuals had expired. Both were soon confirmed to have made physical contact with Subject Epsilon. Containment Protocol 09-a put into effect. Remaining personnel were advised to leave Platform █████. Complete extermination of Platform █████ and its research personnel recommended and approved by AIR command. Addendum: AIR Agent ████████ submitted her report to Research and Development command personnel following Incident-003. Complete extermination of Platform █████ recommended and approved by Navis command. Addendum: All files related to Subject Epsilon and Platform █████ to be turned over to AIR and contained. All Incident Reports to be destroyed or contained.

  17. Firaxis also says that they've got an entirely different team working on the PC UI, and that the game is being built specifically for the PC, in order to be ported over to the console. The control scheme and UI in these videos are from the fact that they're playing with control pads on the PC. Very, very reassuring, actually. I'm looking forward to this release.
  18. Already signed my soul to the devil back when they started the Annual Pass business for WoW. Can't wait. I'm pre-downloading it now.
