Cellphone Plans! Let's do some comparing.
Recalibar Zaytsev replied to Eriksson Foxtrot's topic in Offline
Nation: United states Cellular provider: Neighbor's wifi. Cellphone: Itouch 4g Rate plan: $0/mo Features included in plan: • Unlimited text with third party app • Unlimited calling with skype • Unlimited data allowence • Facebook compatability • Additional $14.00/mo for 10,000 minutes per month on skype to anywhere in the world (and yes, I'm not trolling, this is really my communication plan, aside from the provider; any wifi hotspots that are avalable will do) -

Winning and Losing: The Musical

If most regions are unwinnable, won't victory be that much sweeter of we did achieve it? And in terms of us winning in our own sim, it's only time that our opponents have reallyLost when it comes down to it. The only reason I don't really persue this philosophy is that I doubt the entire community would support it. -

Well, actually, that was his point in some respect. Sometimes we can pull out unneccesary force to deal with odds (Like this morning, we allowed a tank and a plane to deal with one or two lone wolves simply because we did not want to deal with them at the time, so was the impression I got from it.) Which was more or less what Mark was talkng about. The best way to deal with a situation is to use the best tactics, not the best weapons. Again off topic was the philosophy that when your home base gets attacked, the only thing two outcomes that could result is a loss and a tie. For example; if a burglar breaks into your house and trashes your things before finnally leaving after being beaten with a bat, who really lost more if he still got away? Would be interesting to think about if the entire community also thought that way. -

Treaties exist for a reason, the ones that limit the technology that both sides have in their arsenal? Usually groups get mass blockaded when they go outside these existing boundaries. If anyone remembers the teen grid, specifically the Rome and Talon wars (I wasn't there specifically, but I can tell you stories of their existence), there existed no such treaties. Pretty much they resorted to flyfighting, railgunning, and all kinds of ridiculous tactics to take home a victory. There was even a gun that was often used, I believe it was called the orbus(?) that if you shot it, it would self replicate until the sim reached it's limit and both sides were blackscreened. At that point you went home, called it a victory and celebrated. Eventually our own system of a standard RoE was made that would disallow these. I could go on about teen grid politics, and how often times the only way to "win" was to be banned from the parcel, as considered by most, but I'll save that for another time. My point is that treaties exist so that cases like these don't ever happen, or even become close to happening. With every development we make, it will still (hopefully) fall into allowed standards set by the rest of the grid. On a sidenote; This is how I roll in every other game than Second Life. />http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPYSUf9wbXI&feature=sh_e_se&list=SL -

Farmville 3D. Actually, when you think about it, most people who get involved in farmville can easily spend over 50$ for that crap. This is just that, with graphics, and a one time fee where they don't say "LOL YOU CAN'T DO THAT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PAY MORE REAL MONEIS." after about 20 minutes.

Well, it all depends on your gaming style. It's more of a test of patience than anything. You can go through room to room and just kill everything with ease as long as you use proper cover, but the whole point of it is is to recreate a Thief 2 style gameplay where you were pretty much Ffffed if you were caught. As for the hacking thing, I went though the game up until you arrive the second time at Hengsha with only level one hacking before changing the rule. A friend of mine told me that you couldn't beat the game with only one, and I fell for it, even though it was total bullshit. I'll probably have another run through where I more exclusively play pascifist and only use level one hacking.

Alright, so I recently picked up a copy of Deus Ex: Human Revolution and decided to start the game on the "Give me Deus Ex" difficutly. However, during my playthough, I found the game to be much too easy. (Except boss fights, lool) So, in light of this, I procedeed through the game with a few extra rules I had to keep by to continue playing. The rules go as this. 1) Start the game on "Give me Deus Ex" difficulty. 2) You may not kill anyone, unless directed to by the game. I.E. boss fights or an assassination target. 3) Going into "Hostile" mode, where enemies actively engage you, counts as a loss. Restart your last save. 4) You may not put any praxis into Stealth Enhancer catagory. 5) You may not put any praxis into Hacking:Capture catagory beyond 3. (Good luck finding those pocket secretaries!) Keep in mind that you may save the game at any time. Anyone think they can handle it?
