I tried to retire once.
Aryte rejected my resignation and said my fifty year term of service wasn't finished yet.
I will be 80 years old.
This is like the third time I retired, Frankly I think theres just too much drama on the sidelines, I dont even play SL anymore and Im dealing with someone trying to File a false AR that Im underage or some shit. Just because I hurt his feelings when I rejected his facebook friend request... Same person got another verified adult banned by just spamming ARs. this person also being a member of the military community.
My hat off to those of you who can continue putting up with all the crap. I've been on SL for 4 years, I'm too old for this :(

I remember when I had a handful of that. Normally im used to american or canadian money, the different sized notes of a pound sterling or euro .. I found odd.
and the last 20 note I brought home got stolen by a "friend" turned drug addict.

Just wanted to leave a note that I've decided to finally retire from the military scene, As those who know me.. know that I've been inactive for like 2 f-ing months and virtually dropped off the map, I didnt have time to keep my activity at a constant pace. I had other matters to attend to.
Truth is SL stresses me out, and there have been far too many changes in this Organization while I was gone for me to readjust, I was capable of doing it before, but not really so much anymore.
even the most basic of the community utterley bores me, I havent enjoyed combat since Ordo had the "lava fishing" sim. I don't know how some people do it. lol.
Regardless, As long as I could care to remember I didnt stay on SL for the combat or the prestige, whatever. I stayed around for the people, talking to people and such, and I don't need to keep being an inactive old fart to still talk to people here.I dont think I'll be on SL at all anymore, but I'll still be around vent, I hang around in the gaming channels regularly looking to just chat about any random shit, or play a game if anyones up to it.
I've left and rejoined both the Ordo and the Merczateers each more than once, although I'm afraid that this will most certainly be the last, as I havent been more sure that of myself that I'm done with SL as I am now.
I enjoyed my time here, in particularly my latter days here. I just wanted to say to everyone I guess that I wasnt a person who was driven by the desire of rank or prestige, the only thing I wanted from being apart of ordo, even from day 1 way back in 2008 (which probably only 3 people remember) was to become one of the crowd, someone who had been around for a long time that everyone knew. I didnt gun for any ranks, but retiring at the rank of Sergeant Major at least says to me I contributed something more to the group than my annoying personality, bad jokes and limitless "stories", I'm glad to have been able to call you all my friends, and for you to call me yours. and so on.
I had a good run, I just hope my presence here wasnt a nuisance

Turning Point: Fall of libity
brought this day one completed it in two hours took it back the next day because it was an over hiped pice of rubish got less then half back.
though i disagree with you on homefront its a good game even though its short it has a great story and the DLC's have good promise and the multiplayer is different from both call of duty and bad company.
I remember playing that on a console. an interesting story idea but they made the game play like shit
And Cyphre, I hear you on the shit servers. I was trying to play with Arokh the other day and it either lagged at the worst possible time "Usually in a gun fight or car chase". or you'd be sitting at "Connecting to server" for 20 minutes only to get a LOLNO Failed to connect message.

SHOGUN 2: Total war
Price: $49.99 USD
Reason: this is a great game, granted I wish I had waited a week or two to buy it since it went on sale for 33% off the other day, Could have saved over $15. Game's still full of bugs that crash the game, and the devs havent made any attempt at fixing them, they're more concerned with releasing DLC to fill their pockets with. other than that Shogun 2 is a good RTS.
BRINK
Price: $49.99 USD
Reason: The game advertises as being a revolutionary future of shooters, I find the game plays like Counter strike meets TF2, And the game is too much bark and not enough bite, in other words it says it has this and that, when it really doesnt. Some people enjoy it, but I could have used that 50 bucks for something else :(
APB Reloaded
Price: Game is free but other stuff can be bought (Spent $60)
Reason: Im an idiot, Im an idiot for spending money on this "Gamersfirst" company, I'm an idiot for giving APB a second chance, some things should have remained dead
it's just a big scam that aims to drain the money out of dumb little kids who play MMOs. And the stuff I bought for the game, "Premium mode" which claims to give you a "money boost" but it's so minimal it's barley noticable, Spent money on unlocking guns early, but wait! you only get to keep them for 30 days, and then you have to buy it again with real money. the guns that are lifetime keeps are junk, they're overpriced garbage with no other purpose than attracting idiots with daddy's credit card, who think they can unlock something early by paying for it, I bought a gun that USED To be a beast in the original game, but they made every aspect of it worse, and slapped a pricetag on it..... also even if you buy a gun with ingame money *IE money you made in the game and did not spend any real currencey* you only get to keep the gun for 10 days.
I'm not even going to bother explaining how poorly the game plays, It's garbage, the only improvement is there is now the ability of playing it for free. before you had to pay a monthly fee. I should have known better. APB is nothing but World of warcraft for gangster wannabes. it may have a different theme but the scams are the same.
HOMEFRONT
Price: $49.99 USD
Reason: Rented it on xbox to try it out, it seemed ok, bought it on PC, Turned out that the only good stuff was the first level or two that I played on the xbox. then I found out the campaign is only 7 levels long, and a complete ripoff of freedom fighters. and the multiplayer is a complete clone of Call of duty and Bad company.

All men of war games are on sale on steam. you can get the entire series for $20, 30 less than what you'd normally pay. and you can get Assault squad for 11, individually. or the original men of war for like 5.

The amount of change in the past 110 years has been momentous. Nearly every working family has a car, a TV, a computer with internet. Back then you still had to take baths with a bucket of water reused until everyone was clean. To imagine what he has seen in such a long lifetime... Truly amazing and slightly sad. I was just thinking about the last American WWI veteran who died in February today.
There's now no one alive to have witnessed that period of time and everything we have is now history.
That last statement is false. there are still people around who -Witnessed- the fighting, just alledgedly no one still around who fought in it are alive anymore.

I Was pretty sure the last WW I Veteran was a British guy who died last year, but then again this could even be false, given there was so many people in the wars there could still be some dude in France or Germany who fought in WW I
