Welcome back.

Sometimes one may feel that they have hit a wall and are not quite sure where to go. Or, perhaps they would like to have a better idea on how to demonstrate their character and abilities to acquire higher responsibilities. Maybe someone just needs a person to talk to in order to help develop an idea they may have, or to help solve a problem. Should anyone find themselves in such a situation, they should feel free to speak with me. I offer my services as a Career Counselor. Counseling sessions are informal in nature and confidential, unless prior consent is given to share information. To share a little about myself for those who may not know me, I enlisted in April of '08 and served Ordo until late '10. I was Praefectus of Astra for almost two years. I also had the joy of being a Schola Magister for a short time back in '08. Every counseling session is different, but what is typically explored are one's desires for themselves and the group; strengths and areas in which one requires improvement, a discussion pertaining to one's surrounding and how one may best take advantage of their niche, general tips for success, and specific examples of quantifiable tasks that can be accomplished. One time we had a grand tournament in that giant rezzable maze arena that Keno constructed in the first incarnation of Chronus (when it was linked to the lava sim). We did like pistols versus pistols and stuff and had a ladder. If we can construct such a thing we could have more events like that.

I remember that time we all watched that new rambo movie together. Awesome time. Maybe we can have a similar experience again with movies.

It is my personal belief that it is best for one to concentrate on one division. Specifically, when it comes to later in one's career. For an enlisted working within Schola, Curia, etc., it is infinitely helpful in both bolstering those divisions and demonstrating one's character. If that enlisted should one day join the administratio, the responsibility for their officer post in whatever division they reside increases. It is at this point that I like to encourage people to make sure they know their limits, and see whether or not they are truly able to give every position they hold their 100%. Most of the time this is not the case. In short, concentrating on one division will give a soldier the opportunity to give it their all. I do not like the idea of an individual doing the "bare minimum" for each role they fill because they are concentrating on multiple roles in the group.

Hello, everyone! After much consideration and with Heather Mckay's approval, I've opted to withdraw myself from retirement and return to active duty as a Consiliator that specializes in career counseling. At the conclusion of this week, a new policy is being implemented for those who submit an OCA: As of Sunday, April 3, 2011, all officer candidates are required to schedule and attend career counseling at the conclusion of their OCA interview. Any officer candidates who have submitted an OCA prior to this date may schedule and attend career counseling at their own volition. Those who have not submitted an OCA are able to request and attend career counseling at their own request, regardless of rank. The objective of the career counselor is to analyze officer candidates based upon their performance, well being, and opinions voiced by the Administratio and through periodic constructive observation and counseling provide a basis for which conducive behaviors and practices can be promoted as required for officer promotion. In other words, counseling serves as a tool to help groom individuals for the transition from enlisted to Administratio. Counseling sessions are informal in setting and are confidential. Should information arise that requires the attention of the Administratio, consent of the one being interviewed will be required. I remember a time when we had scarce an attacker for a long, long while. Two years back -- lava sim. Those were dismal times. I prefer the constant attacking to that, in hindsight.
