  1. As you may already know, I like making posters. Motivational, educational, or just comical. Sometimes the ideas don't come out quite right though, and sometimes I could use a bit of help with actors and the like. Or maybe I just need to be told it's a stupid idea and that I should be ashamed for having it. At any rate, I thought I'd run some ideas past you. First of all I wanted to bring some attention to the Armatura and also facilities like the Killhouse. I couldn't think of any good ideas though, until I heard the command "goto:range" enough times. It struck me that it sounds like an imperative. It conjured up an image where I'm crouching behind a wall with a rifle, and an NCO is standing over me. "Son," he says paternally, smiling and looking from me to my rifle to my (distinctively un-ventilated) target, then back to me. "Shooting range." he says. "Now." Fist picture: A shot of the shooting range, looking down at milites Bob, Joe, and Mike, who are busy putting holes in targets. Nothing fancy. In big block letters above the pic: "GOTO:RANGE" and under it, "MORE LIVES THAN YOUR OWN DEPEND ON YOUR SKILL". Second picture: A shot of the killhouse. Milites Bob (wearing a red flag) and Milites Mike (wearing a blue flag) are stalking each other, pistols drawn. Same deal with the text. "GOTO:KILLHOUSE" and then the slogan. Good idea/bad idea? Milites Bob, Joe, and Mike are three very generic looking troopers in BDUs. This is to keep the posters generic and timeless. No particular individual or division is pointed out. I'm thinking it'd work well to just apply one of the basic premade avatars from the library but wearing the BDU. Thoughts?
  2. Oh, and on the subject of bullet spam, I drew this while in the army I was in before. You might recognise two of the more prominent members in this cartoon.
  3. I'm not sure if it's a grunt rush or not, but you know those guys who never give up and go home? Three random morons running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawing in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, and then you log off to cook a really nice meal with a friend, eat, have coffee and a drink afterwards, talk about this and that, look at some hilarious YouTube clips, go for a stroll, have a shower afterwards, go back to the computer, log on to Second Life, and those guys are still there, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub... This was especially irritating on Cabaret Island because there was no cover for me and no cover for them so it'd be bullets flying as soon as they rez and get out of the box. I would be the only defender 90% of the time with perhaps one or two people in a skybox fucking about with their private projects, so it wasn't like I could leave it to someone else to do the fighting... And over and over with the running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub, running into your bullets, respawning in the hub... AAAAAAARRRRRGGGH!!!
  4. Objectives have really improved things for me. It's just a hell of a lot more fun to go to a sim and try to achieve something rather than just shoot people. Because like in any FPS there's really no point in shooting people - they just keep coming back. Sparta... now that brings back memories. Faint ones from when I first started with this combat thing. They disappeared not long after. I remember for a while there it seemed to me close combat was the thing. Everyone had these knives that just spawned killprims on everyone within five meters when you pressed the crouch key... except some armies that had those on automatic!
  5. To begin with, my first blooper was when I first got the HUD and the Hellgun and found out what happens when you use the grappling hook while firing full auto, indoors. It's just one of those things you have to go through I guess... The funniest thing happened to me just now though. I was standing on the roof of the NW bunker (not the round hut) and preparing to repel this lone attacker when he suddenly appears right next to me! He does a roundhouse kick and the melee attack hits me, but somehow doesn't kill me, but him instead. And so he sinks serenely through the floor, still stuck in the roundhouse kick animation. Although in my mind it went more like this: This is Titan!
  6. I really need to get active on the forum, and what better way to start than this thread? I'd like to than Nrom for being an immense help in getting me settled in, and getting me through the schola. He even got me to manage that labyrinth somehow.
