Aryte
In the Ordo Imperialis (and in most groups), there is a concern of attempting to "figure out" what you can do with your position. There is no way that it could ever be entirely written out-- there's simply no way, it is not realistic. Consider the Ordo's tier of authority is a living entity. As such, if you WANT to try something, simply ask! The worst that happens is you're told "no, that's more of an officer task," or "no, that is outside of your authority." Keystone Gray
I'm glad this principle is alive and well in Ordo, because most groups will overlook it. It gives quite a bit of managable, healthy power to each and every member of the group, allowing the most development (in both material and personality). Individuality in this form is a powerful tool and a great morale boost. :)
Sosarin Demar
Agreed!Let's say you feel your hands are tied on the lower tier of the hierarchy. There are many open possibilities for what a member of the enlisted can do -- more than one may think. If you have an idea, for instance, talk to your comrades. Post in the main discussion thread of your respective branch, or approach a superior. As Aryte said, the most that can be said is, "no, you can't do that."Authority is also extended from those above you. Talk to a superior if you want to know just what the boundaries of your abilities are -- what opportunities there are where you can contribute, and what you can do to assist spearheading those opportunities. One can also consult the handbook and read about each rank and tier. It will give a general feel of things.
Rei Kuhr
The most important thing though is, remember to ask. Dont be afraid to. By at least asking, we're far more likely to give permission than if you go ahead and do it and ask later. Us officers are here to help.
