Huttser
Me and an expanding group of Ordo have been playing his in it's beta as of late, and with the final release slated for tomorrow, I thought I'd toss a post up to see if any more people were interested. What is Wargame: AirLand Battle? It is 1985. Tired of repeated provocations from the United States, the USSR strengthens its military capabilities and rises to the challenge of the confrontation. After several months of growing tension, an incident in the North Sea sparks an escalation. All over the world, Pact and NATO forces are mobilized and set the world on fire. As neither camp dominates the main front in Germany, fate hangs in the balance in Scandinavia... Find yourself at the head of all military forces involved, with more than just tanks, as planes make a dramatic entrance in this series, with 100 aircraft of all kinds to complete your arsenal: fighters, bombers, electronic warfare aircraft, etc. Four new nations and their vehicles join the eight nations from Wargame European Escalation, for a total of over 800 vehicles and combat units! The game experience is enhanced by the brand new version of the IRISZOOM Engine, offering even larger and more detailed game maps with impressive landscapes rendered from satellite imaging. Wargame: European Escalation was one of the best RTS I'd ever played. AirLand battle expands upon it, and then some. Larger games, more units and most importantly fast air make for really dynamic battles. With so many nations and units to choose from you can really find the play style that suits you, each one providing pretty awesome game play. With battlefields that stretch for over 70km and up to ten players a side, you can get huge battles. In just one battle there was a massive armored engagement (50+ tanks either side) between American and Soviet tanks which was going rather poorly for the Americans. However a full scale air assault launched the other side of the map, a good 30 km away by French and British troops secured a town, providing a clear air corridor for a wave of A-10s and F-15Es to fly in and smash the Soviet advance. And this was only a 5 v 5 game. There aren't many RTS out there that really win my heart anymore, this one though, has me in love. I'll leave a few images down below.
