CHAT LOG:

Meeting Opener

[18:02] Aryte Vesperia: Let's get started.

[18:02] Aryte Vesperia: A bigger turn out tonight than I expected. Finals week is killing our activity. So thank you all for coming.

[18:02] Aryte Vesperia: I am going to keep this as quick as possible, so folks can get back to their work.

[18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Please remember to keep your comments until given a chance to speak, etc.

[18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, statistics:

[18:03] Aryte Vesperia: 281 in main group. 93 defenses marked, 9 offensive deployments.

[18:04] Aryte Vesperia: Applications . . oh god, pushing 18. Most denied, as usual.

[18:04] Aryte Vesperia: One major change this week in diplomacy. Looks like SK disbanded, and merged with the EU..? Still trying to figure that out.

[18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Not a major effect to us, as we had limited involvement with SK.

[18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Other than that, it's been fairly level. Combat has been solid. Lot of very good deployments, over a large number of units-- AI, CS, 2142, CATI, SF.

Divisional Reports

[18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Let's go ahead and move on to unit reports. Volunteer to go first?

[18:08] Detox Exonar: =^.^= DETOX

[18:08] Detox Exonar: raises hand

[18:08] Aryte Vesperia: .. hahah. Detox, thank you.

[18:08] Detox Exonar: I need to deactivate that damn gesture - lol

Astra

[18:08] Detox Exonar: ASTRA Report

[18:09] Detox Exonar: This week has seen 3 new ASTRA cadets get through phase training

[18:09] Detox Exonar: Apostles are steady with concluding training as always

[18:09] Detox Exonar: Sosa has just opened up a Flight Leader position to replace Williamca going to Terra

[18:09] Detox Exonar: We thank Will for his service and wish him good luck

[18:10] Detox Exonar: The position opening will allow any flight member from Paragon to submit his justifications as to why he should be the new flight leader of Drake team

[18:11] Detox Exonar: Will be weighted of course for those with time in grade -however - we are opening up to any member regardless of his tenure in ASTRA

[18:11] Detox Exonar: A thread was created in ASTRA Online Ordo websight and we have already seen 10 flight members submit their qualifications

[18:12] Detox Exonar: Sosa and I discussed - that after reading all the exceptional statements by our ASTRA flight members - this will be a difficult choice to make

[18:13] Detox Exonar: Nevertheless - I want everyone who submitted their statements - to know that stepping up to the plate in this way - and going after this position - reflects most favorably on all the applicants

[18:13] Detox Exonar: Sosa will make his selection and this will be conveyed in the ASTRA Thread no later than tomorrow - Sunday

[18:13] Detox Exonar: On to exercises

[18:14] Detox Exonar: Bradyn - is scheduling an event for this Wed - that will encorporate Thanatos bombers - and Escorts - against hostile attackers -this should prove to be a challenging event

[18:15] Detox Exonar: I wil get a notice out tomorrow scheuling this event and ask that we get good participation

[18:15] Detox Exonar: Crash concluded a weekly scheduled dogfight event yesterday - Friday - it went well - but we were a bit shy on participation.

[18:15] Detox Exonar: We are hoping that more folks will be participating in the weeks to come.

[18:16] Detox Exonar: This concludes the weekly ASTRA status report

[18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you, Detox!

[18:16] Lestat Umarov raises hand

[18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Umarov.

Terra

[18:16] Lestat Umarov: Overall another good week for Terra. I held a meet and greet at the begining of the week to get acquainted with the new faces and have been speaking with the upper levels of Terra command about some major changes I'm not ready to bring to public light as of yet. Now, onto unit reports. Forgive me if they're a bit light due to finals.

[18:16] Lestat Umarov: From Keller for Invictus: "Welcoming Corsi Mousehold and Nohime Runner ot the squad. Most of the development is going along nicely, awaiting the Imperator approval for the Negev to be finished. School is winding down and we are expecting a refresh to activity with the new members and the school year winding down. Thats it."

[18:17] Nohime Runner: o_O

[18:17] Lestat Umarov: errr

[18:17] Lestat Umarov: Mistype...

[18:17] Corsi Mousehold giggles.

[18:17] Lestat Umarov: That was antesig :|

[18:17] Anlysia Gregoire: (Antesignani.)

[18:18] Lestat Umarov: From Keller(FOR REAL THIS TIME) for Invictus: "A slightly quieter week then previous. Invictus continued deploying regularily as part of general raid teams, and performing admirably. Currently, quite pleased with how the squad is progressing, and looking forward to the next couple weeks."

[18:19] MikeMurdock McMillan: here now don't send teleports anymore

[18:19] MikeMurdock McMillan: haha

[18:19] Lestat Umarov: I recieved no report from Fulminata, altho I heard Gulliver did get one. But aside from that I havn't heard much on the current status of the squad.

[18:19] Lestat Umarov: From myself for the Adiutor Staff: "I spoke with some of the builders who are working on gear for the staff. The revolver seems to be a go as long as the current sculpter gets unbanned.(?) As for the masks, waiting on keller atm. Still need to discuss policy with the Imperator and XO's."

[18:19] Lestat Umarov: From Genesis for Cohors B: "Good news on Endra being assigned as Lupus help (aka Sergeant). Activity steady and members levels in B are moving forward at a steady pace. Members come and go as needed, plenty of PRFs being done now. Nothing major event wise happened this week, and the group seems to communicate and work promptly and in a correct manor. All in all this week has been quieter to previous possibly due to mid-terms beginning shortly. Study hard and go far team.

Looking forward to next week!"

[18:20] Lestat Umarov: That concludes my report for Terra. ANy additional reports may be given at the discretion of the Imperator.

[18:20] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you.

Munitorum

[18:21] Aryte Vesperia: Any other units?

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire raises hand. :V

[18:21] Aryte Vesperia: Gregoire.

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: Quick'n'dirty Munitorum update this week. Lots of stuff in the bag and waiting on das Imperator's decisions on assignment and such.

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: The Veritas, Infensus, and Caelum are complete barring any sudden issues that appear. Tsume and Vincent have developed a second Caelum variant over the past li'l bit, you may have seen it around with the big ol' minigun on it.

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: Sera is still in the midst of doing many many updates to many many weapons. So everyone should give Sera a hug for it. Ethan's......I have no idea. So there's a plane, somewhere. But I have no idea what state it's in, honestly.

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: Scarlet has been working with Tsume on some fancy new pretty stuff as well, a riot shield and a new baton to replace the old Stun Baton Aryte......lost. When your inventory went kaboom? I think so.

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: This upcoming week I'll be working on some more finalizations to the Munitorum Handbook, so I'll be able to yell at people and roll that up to hit them with while I yell at them. Agares said he had lots of ideas for that, then didn't tell me anything, so I think he's a liar. ♡

[18:21] Anlysia Gregoire: Other'n that, not much else to report right now.

[18:22] Detox Exonar: Detox raises hand

Astra Cont.

[18:22] Aryte Vesperia: Exonar?

[18:22] Aryte Vesperia: (Disembodied Hand contacted me to notify me he's working on our orders-- high command uniform, trenchcoats, bdus.)

[18:22] Trinity Heckroth: (\o/!)

[18:23] Detox Exonar: I forgot to mention during my ASTRA status report - a new flight was opened up last week - Third Flight Caelum has been re-activated - with Foxers Fhang selected as Flight leader - that is all sir

[18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. :)

[18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Anyone else?

[18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent. Moving on then.

Old Business

[18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Any old business to bring up this evening?

[18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Very good then. On to my topics.

Keynote Topics

[18:25] Aryte Vesperia rubs his hands together. "Ahem . . well! Pay attention, important stuff."

[18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost.

[18:26] Aryte Vesperia: By my authority, the Legion Terra is hereby expanded by the addition of [1] century, serving the Cohors B unit. Century Liberatrix, the "Liberators," [Cohors B, Century III]: Liberatrix, will alleviate additional strain on B1 and B2. In addition, it will provide further positions within Terra for potential command leads. Filling of this unit will begin within the next week.

[18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Questions?

[18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent. Moving on.

[18:28] Aryte Vesperia: As discussed last week, we will be introducing additional officers within the Terra bracket.

[18:29] Aryte Vesperia: At this time, I would like to go ahead and congratulate both Ribena Homewood and Genesis Ronmark. They have been selected for elevation into the [W-1] role. Genesis Ronmark will be assuming the position of Cohors B XO, whereas Ribena Homewood will be assuming overall command of Cohors C.

[18:29] Aryte Vesperia: It also should be noted that Anlysia Gregoire has been tapped to assume overall Terra Adjutant command. Additional appointments are planned and will be announced when prepared.

[18:30] Aryte Vesperia: Questions?

[18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Very good then.

[18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Next topic.

[18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Further additions to the merit pool have been introduced and will be added, compliments of Tiridates brainstorming:

[18:32] Aryte Vesperia: Architect of the Imperium – Possible next tier up in the Architect series of merits.

Excelsior Merit/Medal – For innovation, excellence, and/or brilliance in the pursuit of administrative duties, the creation of policies, the reform of organizational structures, etc.

Pathfinder Merit (qualification?) - For tactica?

Cogito Merit/Medal – for the contribution of strategies, tactics, or for excellence in implementing the like, in either administrative or military applications.

[18:32] Aryte Vesperia: In addition, it has been proposed that ceremony be adopted from the elevation to certain positions within the group. In particular, higher profile officer roles, Praetorian, Curia, and so foth. I support the notion and will work to achieve this in the future.

[18:33] Aryte Vesperia: Finally, Tiridates has proposed that honor titles be revisited-- for example, very elite, special awards that would allow individuals to assume a special title. Among his suggestions are:

Champion of the Imperium, Guardian of the Watch, Imperial Historial-- I largely support the idea and will also work to see this implimented. He and I agree it would be a great atmosphere building opportunity and provide people additional avenues to work toward.

[18:34] Aryte Vesperia: "Champion" role would be:

[18:34] Aryte Vesperia: For an example, consider the rough idea of what the

[18:35] Aryte Vesperia: (Keep in the mind this is entirely random and not refined, or in any way set in stone.)

[18:35] Aryte Vesperia: "Champion of the Imperium – The Champion is selected once a year, for the duration of a year, during Founding Day. Candidates are nominated only by Legates -level personnel from which the Imperator selects the recepient. A Champion can be selected more than once, but not consecutively. Any individual, prior to offical sanctioning, must pass a disciplinary and security reviews and investigations.

They must conduct themselves as a living symbol of the virtues and morals of the Group for the duration of their endoressment. Upon the nomination of the next Champion, they must present the regalia to the successor, under the blessing of the Imperator."

[18:36] Aryte Vesperia: So on and so forth. All very interesting and unique. Just sort of an opportunity to expand horizons.

[18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Questions?

[18:36] Agares Tretiak: :D

[18:37] Agares Tretiak raises his hand.

[18:37] Aryte Vesperia: Tretiak.

[18:37] Agares Tretiak: Tiri and I discussed this concept, is it a fairly likely thing we'll be doing? I had been side tracked for so long I nearly forgot about it.

[18:38] Aryte Vesperia: It's entirely Tiri's idea.

[18:38] Aryte Vesperia: Thus the insanity of it.

[18:38] Agares Tretiak: Haha

[18:38] Aryte Vesperia: Or. Yours and Tiri's ideas.

[18:38] Aryte Vesperia: So yes.

[18:38] Aryte Vesperia: Any other questions?

[18:39] Aryte Vesperia: Perfecto. All right, act like I said promotions and dial in for a moment. This is the big topic for the evening, and I'd appreciate everyone's full attention.

[18:39] Aryte Vesperia elbows Keller.

[18:40] Aryte Vesperia: The Ordo Imperialis has grown to sizes and complexity that, looking back years ago, would have never been expected. The nature of this group has evolved and will continue to evolve. It is a progression that is welcomed and unavoidable. People change, time changes, and the group will mature or even relaxes in some aspects. It is visible to those who have been here for some time—but there are actual generations and cycles of membership here.

[18:41] Aryte Vesperia: You will notice this in rank disparity, or by examining “who is more comfortable with who.” It is sort of like . . . class years. There’s the class of 2007, 08, 09, and soon to be 2010. And, in every class or generation, I have always experienced this sense of, well, what I would consider “moral panic,” or “times have changed.”

[18:42] Aryte Vesperia: This occurs when the last generation, now senior NCO, officers (et cetera) sit down and glance back at the current generation. From their positions, it is very easy to gander and point out error, compile it, and then share it with others in their generation until a paradigm is developed that creates a sense of “things are not like they use to be.”

[18:43] Aryte Vesperia: Let me be clear when I say: comments or discussions of “things are not as strict as they once were,” or “things are too strict now” are a complete farce. The strictness within the Ordo has never changed; it is simply applied in more professional, ethically silent manners. In 2006, when I assumed command, the rule of law that exists today was founded. There has been no variance in my strictness, only variance in the application and processing of offenses.

[18:44] Aryte Vesperia: That is, however, not to say that incidents do not occur—they do, of course they do. But I promise, when the 2006 era was looking at the 2007 era, and then the 2007 era looking at 2008 . . . the cycle only perpetuated. Every generation has had its share of being looked at as potential threats to the Ordo’s continuity. And I promise you, months from now when the current wave of new members forget this speech, they will look at the 2010 generation and have the same impulses.

[18:44] Aryte Vesperia: The reason this is brought up is twofold.

[18:45] Aryte Vesperia: One, the size of the Ordo maximizes and increases the sense of “panic.” In 2007 it was easily contained and naturally worked out through normal proceedings of members becoming vetted—we were 100 strong, maybe. Now we’re three times that size.

[18:45] Aryte Vesperia: Secondly, the danger of labeling an entire generation as degrading to the Ordo’s continuity has undermines the entire purpose of unity and kinship this group focuses upon.

[18:46] Aryte Vesperia: In order to overcome this and to ensure proper socialization, it takes the efforts of existing generations and the current generations.

[18:47] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, officers and NCOs must be willing to step up and exert their knowledge, assistance, and, when necessary, authority. Poor actions and behaviors must be rebuked, in order to stem it at the root and ensure future members receive the same instruction and consistent treatment.

[18:47] Aryte Vesperia: Secondly, the current generation must embrace and understand the situation they are stepping into—the Ordo’s been here for a long time. We have “ways,” rules, norms, lore, even. These must be respected, or, the grating sensation against the older generations will alienate and eventually erode away membership.

[18:48] Aryte Vesperia: The contribution of membership goes far beyond the field of combat. Fighting is what the Ordo does, but fighting is not what the Ordo “is.” We are a community, a brotherhood, a gathering of friends, family—whatever you wish to term it as.

[18:49] Aryte Vesperia: Every generation is a new layer to the community. Every new member is another voice, another mind, another individual who is contributing their time to the collective existence of the group. Individuals do not simply join the Ordo to carry a gun. They can do that on their own. They join the Ordo, maybe not consciously, for the appeal of being “with” something. And that something is everyone here.

[18:49] Aryte Vesperia: There are many personalities within the group. Our differences are vast. Our political beliefs, personal situations, and our morality: not one of us is exact. To step into the Ordo is to acknowledge that, set it aside, and confide in the utilitarian necessity for embracing the greater picture—that, although different, we are all in this together.

[18:50] Aryte Vesperia: Tomorrow, the officer corps will be discussing more stringent observation of regulations and ensuring due process is followed in all accords. In addition, I will be summoning an NCO gathering tomorrow at 5:00 PM SLT to discuss the future and cover ways that NCO members can be involved in furthering the grandeur of our organization.

[18:51] Aryte Vesperia: For everyone, however, I remind you to not lose sight of the bigger picture and the observation of standards: some days you may not be in the mood to put that uniform on when you’re visiting the base. Some days there may be a bit too much sugar in your veins and you’re thinking about rambling about something inappropriate on Ventrilo. Some days your temper may get the best of you and you’ll be considering mouthing off to that OIC telling you to get in line. But think hard and realize every action percolates to a much larger identity: our identity as an organization and our identity as a professional operation.

[18:51] Aryte Vesperia: You owe it to yourself and to your comrades to embrace the expectations you signed up under, and to carry yourself with the utmost diligence and respect for one another. Thank you.

[18:52] Aryte Vesperia: I will hold questions during this gathering to save time. If you wish to discuss this topic, you may do so here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/6178-on-generations/

[18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you for your attention. Let's move on.

[18:55] Aryte Vesperia: Combat this evening: as last week, I will be away from home for a couple hours directly after the meeting. I will host a large raid tonight when I return, however. I expect to be back around 9.. 9:30 at latest? (If my timezones are right here.)

[18:56] Aryte Vesperia: For those of you who weren't here for last week's massive battle, it was absolutely hilarious and CS told us to go the fuck away after four hours.

[18:56] Aryte Vesperia: lol.

[18:56] Aryte Vesperia: SO. I will be looking forward to that.

[18:56] Azoth Zsun: sounds familliar...

General Discussion

[18:56] Aryte Vesperia: Now then, does anyone wish to bring up anything before I move on to promotions?

[18:56] Jayce Iredell rasies hand.

[18:56] Aryte Vesperia: Jayce.

[18:57] Jayce Iredell: How is the sim coming along in terms of tweaking, I notice eeveryday something new seems to be added or something removed, do we know if Imperial has a final idea in mind and if he plans to finish it?

[18:57] Jayce Iredell: How is the sim coming along in terms of tweaking, I notice eeveryday something new seems to be added or something removed, do we know if Imperial has a final idea in mind and if he plans to finish it?

[18:58] Aryte Vesperia: Imperial is . . actually interested in finishing, so I can leave him alone forever. Progress has been fairly solid.

[18:58] Aryte Vesperia: As for a date. Well. I hope within the next week.

[18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Any other questions?

[18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Or topics?

[18:59] Jayce Iredell raises hand......

[18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Iredell.

[18:59] Typhon Perun raises a hand.

[19:01] Aryte Vesperia: I'm very supportive of that.

[19:01] Aryte Vesperia: Never had a problem with it.

[19:01] Xayvien Rau raises the table 50 cents, and puts down a Flush.

[19:02] Aryte Vesperia: If you work out a list of what you had in mind, we can definitely work on it.

[19:02] Aryte Vesperia: Typhon?

[19:03] Typhon Perun: I know I am still new, but the talk on vent in alpha channel during raids has me a bit concerned as it gets very confusing at times. I've had some ideas to help make the chatter better understood for those on a raid, and posted them for discussion here. http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/6175-vent-raid-comm-chatter-control/ Please note that I got the opinion that some might think I am pointing out specifice people in it. I'm not, just trying to help the vent chatter during a raid run more smoothly so we can do our jobs better.

[19:03] Typhon Perun: That is all I have to say sir.

[19:03] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. :]

[19:03] Aryte Vesperia: Doctor Rau?

[19:04] Deano Kharg: o/

[19:04] Xayvien Rau: I may as well say something for once, and in regards to Fulminata. We were going to be rebuilding the squad and making it fancy from the ground up. Wanted to say at least one thing in regards to my squad. D<

[19:04] Aryte Vesperia: (No more after Deano.)

[19:04] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you.

[19:04] Aryte Vesperia: Deano?

[19:05] Deano Kharg: Nvm. not important enought to bring up in meeting

[19:05] Aryte Vesperia: Ok! :)

Promotions

[19:05] Aryte Vesperia: Promotions-- oh god, this is becoming monstrous. Lot of Numerii level movements here. Please remember I do appreciate and value recommendations. Nearly all of them this week are direct recommendations. Merits especially!

[19:05] Aryte Vesperia: If you don't see your name ont he PRF list, see your commander. You know the drill.

[19:08] Aryte Vesperia: On that note. Thank you all for another awesome meeting. I am going to RUN now, I'll be back in a couple hours. Have a great night if I don't see you. For those of you in finals week: study hard, good luck, don't stay up all night studying, it's unhealthy (ENDRA).

[19:08] Aryte Vesperia: Officers, expect Endra to bug you to host a raid while I am gone, for Armatura.

[19:08] Aryte Vesperia: Other than that. Dismissed and much <3.

[19:08] Aryte Vesperia clasps his fist to his chest, presenting a salute.

The contents of the report I gave to Gulliver:

Fulminata's leadership has put a lot of consideration recently into the squad's activity levels, its purpose, and its direction. After a considerable amount of ponderance, I have determined that Fulminata needs to be completely torn down and rebuilt from the ground up. Century A.III will be renamed. It will fill a new role that will work more harmoniously with both the other alpha squads, and the whole of the Ordo itself. It will feature new gear and specialized equipment. It will not be stagnant or overshadowed as Fulminata was. I intend to have this revamp finished by the end of January, and I'm going to need all the help I can get in order to accomplish that, both in regards to development of training and organizational materials, as well as in regards to gear. Before those of you in the squad start IMing me about it, no, you're not getting kicked out. This concludes the report for Fulminata.
