Position recommendation

Recommended Posts

With us being on the the destinations list, how about something like a Ordo Greeter or such to take some of the pressure off the OIC and SOG. Basically the suggested guidelinesfor the position should be as follows.

  1. Bi-lingual, or at least have access to a good translator, even if website based.
  2. At least a e-2 or e-3 in Ordo, experience can help better with this job.
  3. Be willing to try and great all the vistors that arrive that are not hostile. (permission from the OIC might still be needed to be on the safe side).
  4. More then willing to answer questions and offer suggestions, if this sim is not to there liking as a curtosy.
  5. Last one is optional but act as a escort for a visitor to be sure they do not do anything against our rules

I got this idea as I noted some places I go to that have a large amount of traffic started trying to have staff on hand just to great new vistors and help them out. Clubs normally call them hosts, other places have started telling there scecurity staff as well to behave in such a manner.

With the size of the group, and the paperwork and such, it might nice to have something like this here as well. Just to be sure not all the vistors are shot by accident.

Perhaps, but very often the two leaders are redundant, so having a third might be more than necessary. Plus, we have a small selection of bilinguals, and we'd be stretching them thin with constantly having them on watch. Furthermore, the most used 2nd language on SL, Brazilian (I'm kidding, it's Portuguese) isn't spoken by any ordo, to my knowledge.

actually just in general according to our normal routine protocol, if there shows someone up and any individual thinks none is in contact already with him , and SOG and OIC seems to be busy or not noticing it its not a big deal without making shouts on vent or Coms like " OH MY GOD , there is a random guy in the hub! did some one contact him yet ? " or telling others to contact him , to go the simple way and just to contact the person and ask about there reason for the visit and explain the stand of rules and about place depending on answers and short filing a report to the OIC / SOG .. that's what i was teached in my schola days . and it was at least normal that there was no Sog needed or new position to contact people cause it was an automatic routine of the people around , maybe we schould just poke on that again and make people aware and push them out the laxity and okay there might be 2 people calling him the same time wont kill the person in hub or Personal on base .

we may be hot spotted now but we had weeks before with 15 randoms or 30 randoms per day and there was no special position needed and everyone was contacted.

i just wanted to point on that and with it i agree with Agares it works just fine how it is.
