Walter, Ute, Tommy and Mary

Recommended Posts

An amazing video created by one of the greatest IL2 community members, DoktorOp. I found it extremely nice, and wanted to share.

The song is Daniel Landa - Walter, Ute, Tommy and Mary.

Low above the clouds,

there flies Walter in his Messerschmitt,

destroyed cities

remind him of reality,

when Walter dreams

of his Ute.

His Messerschmitt is a good old mate,

it carries Walter through the sky,

and he loves flight so much.

He forgot the bomb blasts

when he met Ute,

as a young rookie.

Ref.: Here flies Death, screaming through the grey sky,

over the quiet front line.

Here flies Death, and thinks of his beloved,

before he hooks his mask back on.

Low above the clouds,

there flies in his Spitfire Tommy,

He doesn't think about the wrecks

shot to bits,

Tommy is just dreaming

of his sweet Mary.

His Spitfire is a good old mate,

it carries Tommy through the winds,

and he likes flying so much,

he forgets the pain

and the bombers,

he just dreams of his sweet Mary.

Ref.

Little Ute,

she's a tall, slim girl with a gentle face.

She attached yellow blossoms

to letters she sent him.

Walter swerves his plane towards Tommy's flight.

Mary serves

as a volunteer in hospital,

planes circle above

greeting eachother with machineguns -

Greetings from Berlin,

for Mary of London.
