No, you can capture aliens early on. All you need is an Arc Thrower, which knocks aliens unconscious when you get close enough to them. Just make sure you're prepared to deal with much stronger aliens in missions following it.. At the very least, try and research/manufacture Laser Weapons before you start on missions after capturing an alien.

At the very least, do the tutorial for the achievement, and then restart your game with the tutorial turned off (Obviously, right?). There's a HUGE difference in how the game progresses with or without the tutorial. On another note, I've found a way to cheat (Because I hate failure and I'm so close to losing my eighth and final XCOM council member) and got Sid Meier and three other game developers in the game as "Hero" units. EDIT: With this squad of heroes, Huttser and I ranked up to Colonel and are in the process of being outfitted with the best gear. :D

I was in 5th grade, going to an American school for military dependents in the middle of Bavaria, Germany (the township of Schweinfurt). It was a normal day. I had just gotten off the bus. Had a lot of homework I was worrying about doing. Rung the bell for my apartment and walked in. Our next-door neighbor told us to turn on our TV, and we did sometime after the first crash. We were watching the TV for hours. Our dad came home from work early and watched the news with us.

Just me being slightly bitter due to being let go from my job. I really don't like this new stigma of flying a Galaxy that everyone put on me because I accidentally flew one too close to a tower and locked the wing against the structure, keeping me pinned despite my best efforts to free myself - and as a consequence, killing six members of an allied squad. No one probably means anything by it, but it's just completely irritating when someone makes a joke about my flying abilities whenever I get into the pilot's seat.
