  4. Relating these things to current world events, we should all count our blessings and be thankful that these events are so few and far between. Thanks to all the men and women serving in the armed forces that keep us all safe.
  5. Might want to wait a few days to discuss the fine details. Lot of the preliminary information may only be speculated, if not downright fabricated.
  6. [Country, Unemployment rate, statistic last checked.) Sweden 8.1 2012 (November)[11] United Kingdom 7.8 2013 (January)[119] United States 7.7 2013 (February)[120] Pretty marginal. But as a population, probably varying hard numbers which are actually unemployed because of the population differences. Statistics pulled from wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_unemployment_rate If you want to get a guaranteed job in Europe, according to the numbers, Switzerland and Norway look like the best bet, and have remarkably low unemployment rates.

  12. I think I'll take my concerns outside of the forums I suppose. These kinds of dealings are far too stressful for me. Unfortunately, I relate myself far too much with both sides to simply stand by while things like this happen.
  13. I should respond to this somehow, specifically because I think I'm already partly to blame for at least some of this... First off, I do want to thank you for writing this. It is actually reassuring that you'd consider this a matter that requires bringing some attention towards. My first days back, witnessing both Ratchet and Salem being dealt with is quite unnerving. I feel like, even through Salem did present the resignation in an inappropriate manner, it also voiced genuine opinions. Something must be done about events like these, however. My burning question is this: "What can be done?" Personally, I'd recommend outright deletion. If it is not fit to be for the public eye to see, why keep it there? Once again, it leads to that ever looming silence among newcomers to leave such things up for all to view... Not to say that has transpired was wrong on anyone's part, I simply wish that there were better ways to deal with occurences like these without being called out on censership or adding fuel to the fire. The reason I left SLMC last year was because no matter where I went, there would always be the simple fact that it was easier to break the rules than to follow them. Such were the woes of the ROE, and the reason I concluded that SLMC wasn't for me. Now that your group moved away from that Archaic system, all I see are positve things. But some things still need work if we're to truely grow as a community. I hope I am not offending anyone with writing this, that's the list thing I'd wish in spite of all this...
  14. Not to be in defense of Ratchet, but I wanted to mention that I did feel that the haste of the expulsion was a bit too swift. People who don't know the history were probably thinking the same thing. "I got involved in this group, and it just seems way too serious. This is a gaming community..." Granted, there are people out there that shouldn't be involved in OI. People exactly like Ratchet, who probably wouldn't take a word of the entire meeting seriously. The reason I am speaking out about this is that, this is exactly the kind of behavior that bred this deep introversion that I've suffered from in the past when I was new to these groups. The thought that echoed through my mind day after day: "What if I say something that I'll regret? What if I screw up? I'd better stay silent. Not express my opinions..." Even now I'm shy about pushing the fact that I've recruited someone I talk to everyday. Ah well. All I'm trying to say is that we as a group should be careful not to create the kind of hostile atmosphere where people can't voice their concerns or opinions. Just because Ratchet behaved inappropriately expressing his opinion doesn't mean that other people who are new to the group shouldn't inquire a little more about why the group structure is so important.
