Hi Alice, welcome to the community. We do technically have a Discord, but nobody really ever uses it except for the rare instance TS goes down for more than a few minutes, but I can shoot invite if you'd like. Mostly we use the teamspeak.

I think it's pretty much like WoW's 'free to play' where it's just an extended demo since you will be limited in terms of ships and skills.
