  1. In the 16 years I've been alive I've yet to actually own a desktop. All of my computers have been souped up gaming laptops, purely because of transportation and me bouncing between houses.

I'm still keeping my current one, but I also want to have something at home that I can use for my main computer and update throughout the years.

This thread is me asking for ideas, I suppose. I'm thinking about either going with building my own from scratch, by ordering a cheap tower and swapping out parts, or just buying one pre-made. I'm wanting to do the first one, because I have a semi-tight budget to work with.

That all being said, some basic requirements would be the ability to have more than one screen (which would be gfx dependent), and a fairly modern CPU (ie, at least four cores [hyperthreading or an equivalent technology would be great here]).

Other than that, I'm open to suggestions on parts.

    ŞCOOŦŞCOOŦ: Shhhhhhit

  3. try the o2 sensor first. mine's got a faulty one causing the engine to sputter in cold conditions. don't have the money to fix it right now.

that thing is new enough to have injectors?

  4. that rear whiper omg

i hear those types of headlights jam a lot especially in the cold. see if you can get some bulb grease or something of the like from your local auto store and rub it on the joints that the lights use to move up.

    hows the suspension?

  5. I don't know. It could be great.

I feel very disconnected from the main series when I think about the EU, but, I also realize that Star Wars' nature has the ability to create some truly great series, such as the first two KOTORs. I genuinely loved those games. I can't say the same for other titles, however.

I just hope they respect the original saga. I know Lucas intended for it to end at 6.

  6. It's a lot of fees here so it doesn't wind up free.

And I know all that disembodied, my friends are nuts about apple stuff. :p

The only problem I'm having with the notification center is that it actually won't let me dismiss certain things, like calendar appointments. There's no way to remove it, at least not in the traditional [x] [dismiss] fasion.

And I've had other keyboards, Cypher! I found swiftkey and like ones sort of annoying as i type by pressing and not dragging.

  7. Siri is pretty useful in the car actually.

Edit: The text prediction on iOS is ten times better than anything I've ever used on android. I rarely would ever answer texts just because I hated typing but now it's like I can mash three thousand different keys and always get the word I want. It's like having a physical qwerty again :dowant: :dowant: :dowant:

And there's just tons of little things I like a lot too, and I really forgot how much I missed podcasts. Now I can listen to Cnet's Car Tech before class and it's just so great omfg.

The only negative thing I have to say is that the notification center is behind android. And I'm still sort of getting used to some of it's quirks, like the fact I can't dismiss people's birhtdays from my facebook calendar in the notification banner... :(

And I'm referring to the developer tablet, Salem. I think eventually I can pick it up for cheap somewhere, and when I have more money to throw around.

  8. Went with the iPhone 4S!

Love it, a lot more fluid than what I had, also enjoy the little things about it that make the overall experience more enjoyable. I love android, but all the devices I was able to get hands on with just didn't seem as snappy. Looking into buying a developer device for android soon, though. So I'm not totally jumping that ship.

BUT YEAH, thanks guys! This thread resulted in a pretty satisfying purchase.

  9. My big problem is that my device slows down, regularly. I have to wipe it every now and then and flash a new rom. Now I'm sure that this happens to some degree with the iPhone, but every time I've ever experimented with someone else's, it's always felt way more fluid and responsive than any android I've ever touched.
