Aryte
Hey there, help out your errant Internet warlord. I have a task for you of the technologically inclined (and good shoppers). Namely, I am looking for a solid hotspot source to use out here at OCS. Something with oodles of data, preferably! Anyone have anything neat up their sleeves? (How much data does SL devour, Afevis? I feel like you'd know. You probably have a spreadsheet.)Thanks for the help!
Xoza
When I was in tech school, I found a network port and hacked.. I meen.. ummm where is 'here'?
Aryte
Fort Benning, GA. Specifically, in the OCS barracks, on the third floor. It looks like a castle. Google map that ish. It's epic.
Guest Afevis
I'd say that idling in an already cached sim takes up around .015MB/s (15KB/s) ~ .04 MB/s (42KB/s). So, roughly about 2.4MB a minute, 144MB an hour. Of course this doesn't factor in texture downloads, people teleporting in/out, ect.

Wolf Shaman
According to Sprint's Website, They have shitty coverage over Benning. 3G at best. T-Mobile shows Full 4G LTE Coverage that pretty much covers the whole base of the base. with signal dropping slightly around the Ranges - Top Tier no-contract Data only is 10.5 GB for 70USD/Mo - No overage charges. They just throttle. http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phone-plans/mobile-internet.html#tab-navigation Verizon has full LTE Coverage. Data is 90USD/MO for 10 gigs. Hard Capped. They dont say their overage charges, but it's about 15USD per Gig over. http://www.verizonwireless.com/wcms/consumer/shop/prepaid.html ATT does 10 gigs at 60/mo data plan + 20/mo hotspot tax (20gig for 110+20/mo) Overage charges, But full coverage over Benning. Worse coverage at the ranges than Tmobile. http://www.att.com/att/planner/
Inoue Katsu
Also the IT guys there are going to hate you if there is wi-fi in the building :PAnd yea SL will take a lot of bandwidth, make sure you cache lots.
Xoza
We didn't really have very good internets when I was in Japan until the end of my time there... Had to pay based on how much data used. It was REALLY expensive for me.. lol.
Agares Tretiak
The facility technically has offered internet access, but you have to pay for it according to the Fort Benning OCS website.
