Optometrists did the research for me like I said. For others benefit: The basic concepts: Wearing -any- glasses will allow more moisture on your eyes (which is good) because of the air flow (or lack there-of? I forget which. Point is your eyeballs are wet :P) the color tint is chosen specifically to reduce gamma / flares on your eyes (like you said. And similar tones are visible on many shooting/other glasses) the polarization is to prevent UV damage (something that is on any high-dollar sunglasses. Cheap sunglasses use a film/glue tint similar to car windows) Other treatment of the lense prevent HEV light (High energy visible light or something like that) from damaging your eyes. HEVs have been proven to be a cause of muscle breakdown over time because of strain. (Again, most expensive sunglasses -also- have this) Extremely minor magnification allows your eyes to relax at a natural distance without having to squint or scoot closer and intensify light coming into your eyes Thats probably why Aryte's doctor gave him a small perscritption, to magnify and reduce strain. (considering he got terminator eyeball laser surgery and is 20/20) So why am I going with Gunnar? Its a reliable name ive found while searching, it has all the stuff I am looking for, it is comperable in price to other high-dollar sunglasses. Ooakley comparable glasses are well over 100 for example. Im still searching for other similar products of good quality before I buy, hence why I asked if anyone here had some, but so far it looks like Gunnar provide a good standard. *shrugs*

Im about to order some PC glasses because i spend so much time infront of them and my optometrist suggested it. Does anyone use them? Any suggestions? http://www.gunnars.com/ is what I am finding the most common, and is a brand a lot of gamers use, but Im trying to see if its my best option. I originally had thought it was a gimmick until my optometrist showed me some info stating otherwise. Their (gunnars) wording is a bit sci-fi over the top but what they claim is true, just wrapped up in fancy marketing lingo.

  4. want to see the growth of civilization / destruction of earth over the past 20-30 years? http://world.time.com/timelapse/ Wasnt sure what subforum this was most in-line with but it was awesome tech by google so I figured this works. Either way search your heart out and watch in awe/horror.

  6. Thats what confused me. It was clearly actors trying to do gamer lingo. So my confusion was "are these actors for the plot line? Or are they actually supposed to be players?"
  7. ^^ Agreed. The preview videos were choppy and nothing that came out screamed "good idea" This, however, looks well-made and is pretty visually striking. The chatter at first confused me till the end when he signaled that it was other players and "brace for PvP". Initially, it seemed like the dialogue was really wonky and detatched /gamer like. Either way this looks really interesting.

    I need to make/find a nice tank/air PS2 dual monitor screen.

BE SURE TO USE SPOILERS WHEN DISCUSSING ACTUAL EVENTS. Been obsessed with this book series for a while, the show has been a huge hit on HBO too.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ewkdhu9Zj-w reminds me of this old goodie. Hopefully itll be as entertaining as it was when I Was young.
  11. I was initially excited, I was happy that COD is making actual improvements to engine and game in general. While they still are doing both, it still doesnt even compare to BF3 graphics let alone BF4. Is it a vast improvement from previous? for sure. I will be giving this COD an actual chance. It still looks behind BF tech, but its stil a big jump forward for them. The only downside is they have already essentially expressed that hte engine this one will be with will be their engine for the rest of the nex-gen stuff coming out, until the gen after that.
  12. Win8 discussion kinda was a derail, but I have to say I have been pleasantly surprised with it. I think I prefer Win7 and the classic start-menu style but in general win8 has been extremely easy to navigate and install programs with. XBOX ONE has been difficult to make games for because the system dedicates 3GB to OS on a constant basis, so that way when you rage quit you can shout "WATCH TV" and close your game real fast and sparing you the task of pressing a short button sequence (middle button, quit game, yes) to leave it. Leaving the developers only 5GB to work with. Meaning its not really up to the task that a lot of developers want to push for nex-gen games. Granted, they have expressed they wanted to save the in-depth discussion of games at E3. "Letting Destiny speak for itself". Which, to me, really means they only have Destiny as a game worth mentioning. Nobody gives a shit about sports really, and will probably wait out the one year EA is doing sports for ONE exclusively if they want a new sports game THAT bad. Everything else mentioning is non-exclusive and will look better on any other platform than the Wii-U.
  13. I like the core idea behind the first I think. I had planned on making a new 3D ordo icon today in crazy detail to test out my zbrushing / have a nice icon to go in sim. Ill probably use that as a base idea.
  14. If XBOX was trying to "milk performance" out of it, they wouldnt be dedicating 3 of the 8 GB of DDR3 to OS on a constant basis. (confirmed by Microsoft) XBOX one is largely neglecting is core gamer market. from an article: From Microsoft’s mouth, we know that the Xbox One (formerly known as the Xbox 720) has an 8-core AMD CPU with 8GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive, HDMI in/out, USB 3.0, and Gigabit Ethernet. For more detailed specs, we must look towards the latest info from the games development sector, which has been programming Xbox One games since last year and thus has intimate knowledge of the hardware. The latest leaks suggest that the Xbox One will have an 8-core 64-bit x86 Jaguar AMD CPU @ 1.6GHz, coupled with a GPU that’s very close to the Radeon HD 7790. The Xbox One will have 68GB/sec of bandwidth between the CPU/GPU and RAM, the GPU will have 102GB/s of bandwidth to a local 32MB SRAM cache, and another 30GB/s of bandwidth to gamepads, Kinect, and other peripherals.Xbox One hardware diagram. Note the ports on the back. The PS4, in comparison, has an 8-core Jaguar AMD CPU, with a GPU that’s around the same level as the Radeon 7870 (which is significantly more powerful than the 7790). The PS4 has 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, providing 176GB/s of bandwidth to both the CPU and GPU. The Xbox One mostly ameliorates this difference with 32MB of high-speed SRAM on the GPU, but it will be a more complex architecture to take advantage of.

it comes down to 2 things. 1: nearly untrace-able money transfers 2: its technically an economy that will not have inflation (since after 2025 no more bitcoins will be able to be mined because of the method they use) which attacts you know... idealists. Like I said, zero faith in it as a currency but I know people that mine it for $. It doesnt really matter what the item is, to -most- people its simply a commodity that people want. Which means theres money to be made, until the bubble pops and tons of people lose tons of money.

rich people supposedly use them to avoid taxes /hide money too. Hence why a lot of big-name investors are known to own a lot. Like how the twins that the facebook guy "stole" the idea from own something like 1/3 of bitcoins currently in existence.
  17. Turning the ordo channel into a team channel would be great! when I am able to (probably a week or two after PC is here) I will be streaming and recording videos of PS2 / ARMA / Whatever Ordo stuff I participate in.
  18. just out of curiosity, what are you recording with? fraps?

    Bitmining

Yes, but thats because it recently had a huge spike in popularity from mainstream news finding out about it. The crash also happened on a day that "bitcoinbillionaire" gave away some 15,000 USD worth of BTC on reddit. Like I said, I have no intention of relying on it as a currency but I know from RL friends experience it can be profitable enough to make 1-1.5 BTC a week on a cheap computer that does nothing but mine. Even if it stayed at current value of 100~ a BTC thats 100-150 a week to spend. *shrugs* I doubt Ill do anything with it, simply seeing if anyone messes with it. I only know of one person who mines with a a profit margin worth mentioning. And he only does it for spare cash for hobbies and not really crazy into it.

Does anyone do it? Im considering buying the 5GH/s butterfly mining unit for the $275 which -should- pay for itself in 2-3 weeks of mining. I have no faith in the currency as a lasting thing, but I have no qualms cashing out on the hype while its lasting. Debate-able that its already peaked but most supporters think it was just the initial stress relief of all the attention. So Im considering crossing my fingers and invest a small amount that should be able to at least pay itself off. ANYWAY: Does anyone mine? EDIT: Found out a personal friend does this for decent money. He mostly uses it for hobby funding and /or game money. Though he hasnt invested much into his mining set up and only wants to use it for the spending-money situation not trying to make a large profit off of it. He said if someone has the money to invest in mining set up they could easily make the money they want. He is just in the same frame of mind I am with it in that "He just wants to be able to make some spending money off of it while its got a lot of hype." also not thinking itll be a lasting currency system.
  21. Minor update: War Thunder is planned to be on PS4. I dont know if it will be compatable with PC players though
