  1. Does that include people who are not YET in command roles, but have been chosen for them and havent been able to reach the person they need to talk to finalize it?
  2. I'd hardly consider a needed service advertisment, a necro post, since it can easily get lost and yet new recruits frequently need the name plates made for them. Thus, keeping the topic visible IS needed. THOUGH personaly I do think all the name plate fonts should be the same for some uniformity.
  3. .. THERE IS A WH40K CON? WHERE? WHEN? I will walk there if I must!
  4. Chris was making a play on the old expression "Its 10pm, do you know where your children are?" I will be there btw.
  5. 37 - the more we make them rage (by killing them too hard)... the more fun we have. 38 - Being banned (For killing too hard) ... is the ultimate compliment. 39 - Its hard to get banned for killing too hard, when invincible chaos gunships are spawn camping you.
  6. I am.. disappointed. After getting teh game, and finishing normal mode, as I began going through nightmare... it just.. it felt REALLY stale. Tried other classes, still stale. Sure the game is gorgeous, the story detail is great. The play is great. ... after your first hour of play, you have thus, experienced everything the game can offer in terms of experience. Prehaps I was just easier to please as a teenager playing Diablo 1 and then 2.
  7. As Disembodied pointed out.. not all zombies are presented as dead things. Infact, realisticly speaking, were some kind of 'zombie apocalypse' to occur, it would likely be a more 'rage' type disease. We have diseases now that, even if temporary, can strip humans of their sentience. Ever had a really serious fever or other very serious head-cold? You can be left conscious, but incoherent and unaware. Aggressive impulses, a drive to satisfy natural needs (like the need to feed), are all VERY easily influenced since at their root, they are all chemical reactions in the brain, and any illness that has left you conscious but catatonic has already Ffffed your brain over. A very I am Legend sort of infection really, just strip it of the physical changes since those kind of changes arent really possible, not on a time scale as presented in that setting. This kind of "zombie" is still alive; just stripped to basic need for sustenance and its unbridled rage. YES, killing this kind would be DAMNED easy since they would in essence just be humans and not some magical zombie. But I really do think this is the "worst" that could happen when thinking of a zombie scenario.
  8. Give me a 12 guage shotgun with both slugs and buckshot. A 9mm pistol with hollow point rounds. And a machette. The oil rig idea is a good one except for one thing; food supply. In theory, if you could transport a large amount of dirt ontop of the oil rig, you could establish a small garden, BUT for that you'd need a large transport chopper. Given the liklihood that fuel for the chopper is NOT going to be readily available, you will want to consider ways to make it steam powered for the sake of a reknewable fuel supply, while you use up the last of the fossil fuel. Thus the chopper, when making supply runs, can grab wood as well for the sake of its own fuel. An ineffecient method yes, but at least it's reknewable. The chopper though is a great choice for transport, better than a ship becuase of its speed, the fact it can go inland, the fact it is air and thus avoids all the zombies. Though its size, when compared to a larger ship, is a downside. As well, ships cannot effectively dock with oil rigs can they? I always thought ships that close to an oil rig were considered dangerous for the rig. If you need ground travel, get something with a low center of gravity, alot of power and a very strong body; a humvee is one of the best choices IMO but old cadillacs from the 70s or earlier are another great choice. But again, you are going to need to consider how to address the dwindling fuel supply. Becuase remember.. an oil rig ISNT a refinery. Now if you had access to an oil rig AND a refinery? Well you will pretty much be the center of a growing post apocalyptic empire as you control one of the best sources of energy.
  9. While I doubt zombies can drown, I doubt they can swim since swimming isnt exactly a natural ability but is something we learn. IE, its not something zombies are going to have available to them.
  10. Barbs cant circle kite. When we are running, we are genuinely RUNNING becuase we are about to die. We have VERY little in the way of ranged attackes; a single axe throw which requires rage, a thrown spear to pull enemies to us, and a jump attack which brings us to them. Playing through on normal, there were a few bosses and mob types where the barbarian was at a distinct disadvangage; we could only run in, smack it once or twice, and had to run before it turned its attention on us. In nightmare mode so far.... well.. I Ffffing hate lazer beams. Me, and a party of 2 other barbarians... fighting laser beam enemies.... it became a game of who had the highest repair bill.
  11. Actualy I have to agree about the interface. Prehaps if we piled less details onto the bot (like the storing of raid data), and instead focused on polishing up the abilities of the bot that people do like (the recording of times, names, tping, and enemy sim details on request) it could be alot more agreeable to people, since right now half the issue I've noticed, is when people want the bot, the bot isnt responding as you are still trying to make all the pieces work together. Simplicity works not only for saving your workload, but works to ensure the bot doesnt have conflicts that cuase it to be unresponsive when we need it (which has happened a few times apparently), and helps us understand how to use it better. And personaly, I do find its constant advising us over coms of how many people are in what sim, to be spammy and I too wish it could be muted at least on coms. So far, that information has not been of any benefit to us on defense since the few sim raids we've had since you started working on the bot, have still come without any warning what so ever. The trick with this bot isnt going to be trying to predict what we might want and cramming it down our throats... but rather... finding the features we DO need most, the ones we like and want.. and giving us those to start, and as the dust settles, working from there. And right now, as I said, it does appear as if the ones that have been best recieved and the ones I think you should refocus apon are: recording of times recording of names TPs on request/auto on raid completion and the built in raid advisor
  12. The auto tping at completion of raid and the auto collecting of names of participants are the two features I personaly find most beneficial. BUT that said.. I have no idea what the raid advisor thing is that people talk about. The quesiton is, does this bot support the adding of names after the launch of a raid?
  13. ^ thinks I have any clue about foot wear < has been wearing the same 511 boots for 2 years now v is gonna classify my boots as toxic waste
  14. This is a slippery slope yes. I agree, we need to try our hardest to get along, and not insult each other. BUT it can be taken too far; most of the playful jokes we make towards each other is recieved well, BUT it is possible for those same jokes being made to the wrong person can insult someone. There is no reason to end what works, what we need to do, is know our audience. Know who can and cant take it. BUT so to.. does it rest apon the shoulders of the one being offended, to speak up and say "Hey guys, I dont appreciate that, can we cut it out for the time being?" and for the rest of us to accept that. If Milites Bob (the most abused man in Ordo history) is sitting there while 2 other guys are making jokes. He says something to try and get involved and someone says something to him that he takes as offensive and over hte line, BUT had it been said to anyone else, they'd be fine. Now he could sit silently, and be offended, and divisions are formed. OR he could speak up. and say he was offended.. and the guy who spoke up can reiterate he was meaning it in the spirit of humor, and not meaning to offend, AND the guy learns that Milites Bob has limits and can respect them in the future. Playful ribbing is fun. But everyone has different limits. We need to speak up when our limits are crossed, respect each others limits, and not be affraid to appologize when we cross one of our brothers/sisters limits.
  15. I.. will not be playing this. .... and I think those who remember me.. will know why I SHOULDNT play this.... ... .... I really Ffffing want to though
  16. I know before I went inactive, some people were pushing me to lead raids more. I lack the confidence to, and for many reasons I'm not getting into publicly becuase thats not what this post is about. I am willing to lead them, I WANT to lead them. I just don't feel ready yet. I am willing, and able to lead raids to places like New Jessie, or even run stress test training in Titan when needed. And have done both on different occasions. And I do lead defenses as OIC, unless relieved by higher ranks durring major assaults. But I think this is one of our major issues; NCO's and prehaps even a few officers, dont feel confident enough to lead raids. Confidence can be built but it is hard. The trick is finding the way to do it for each person, and identifying the personality types that you WANT to build confidence in for raid leadership. After all, building it in someone whos confidence is then easily broken, wastes the original effort. Building confidence in someone who lacked it to start, but who will remain strong when shaken, was a good investment.
  17. I do not think the collectors edition is worth the 150 I spent.... teh statue is amazing. but yeah.. 30 bucks tops. the ingame items.. are lacking. BUT. the CE vendor does have somethign rather unique that cannot be obtained elsewhere; an orange quality stormtrooper set. is that alone worth the price? no. BUT its still something quite nice to have that I wouldnt have otherwise.
  18. While Skyrim does have a "the quality of the weapon matters" approach, which is realistic, in many ways, it also practices, parallel to that a philosophy "the weapon does not matter as much as the use of it". This I find, is something alot of gamers have trouble with, they are always so used to always upgrading, looking for better weapons and in Skyrim, you don't really need to upgrade all that often, depending on if you know how to use the weapons properly/where to get the good ones.
  19. That comment Disembodied... can ONLY be responded to by getting into a political debate. A topic we should be avoiding. Especialy since I very much disagree and WOULD like to debate it with you, but cannot on the forums.
