  1. 1.... with the recent issues with server pop giving most of us trying to log in a 20 minute or MORE wait before getting in.. do we want to consider moving to a new server? (most on the Sith side are low enough that a movie, isnt going to be utterly devestating like it will be for those over level 30...) OR would we rather sit it out and hope hte population thins out due to the honeymoon period ending or other solo players moving to other servers?

My vote.. is wait it out. BUT please note.. it would be utterly devestating to move to a new character/new server at this time >.>

2.... anyone sith side.. ever need any heroics or instances run. I can probably solo the heroics or instances that anyone else in the guild is eligable for.

3.... to any Sith Warriors (marauders OR juggernauts)... once you get the ex-jedi apprentice of yours... be careful with her. She LOVES charging the mobs on th FAR side of hte room, especialy gold elites, while you are still fighting silver elites she abandons you to. She will die. THEN the golds will come for you before you can heal. My recomendation is stick with your twi'lek slave for her ranged DPS, or your Imperial Captain for his healing. Just.. wish I had geared my Captain up when I got him.

  2. Since I doubt any large group of people will be online at the same time on sunday, can I make a suggestion?

Script a stopwatch. Milliseconds, seconds, minutes. Start, stop, reset commands.

Then let anyone who wants to participate, do so individually. Time them. record it. It DOES loose alot of the atmosphere of a grand prix I agree, BUT, it allows the event to occur in some way despite everyones schedual that day.

When there ARE multiple people on sim at once.. they can engage in more.. Mario Kart like activities in the spirit of the event. Hell, a special gun scripted for 5 LCS damage would really help that atmosphere... maybe even find a way to make it fire koopa shells if theres time.

I would like to participate, BUT I have no idea what my schedual is that day. Are hte bikes being given out or do we need to obtain them ourselves?

  3. Masters of Orion II is VERY old, but still rather amazing. III is doable, BUT you need to know how to mod hte crap out of it.

Civ3 is still considered the crowning achievement among the Civ community, BUT I havent heard how people are responding to 5 yet, I only know 4 was pretty much universally hated. BUT agian, Civ3 is best with mods and downloads (which are tremendously easy to obtain and install)

SimCity 4... I mean it IS frustrating like all SimCity games are (BUT damn is it amazing once your city is thriving), BUT hte level of detail is rather astounding, and since I havent played CitiesXL.. I cant compare.

Fallout 1 or 2 (or even Tactics) may be options, may help him branch out his game style. VERY old games yes, but turn based, and still rather deep storylines that he may appreciate.

The Settlers series may be fun for him... its more real time than the Civ series to be sure, and I think I have 7. Yes 7. First one I played of the series, whoda thunk there'd be so many?

Disciples may be a good choice. I think Disciples 3 is out now. These are games like Heroes of Might and Magic in terms of how they play, so very good options.

And yes I have to recomend Heros of Might and Magic. At least the older versions I played (havent played newer ones). These would be exactly like what your father is looking for, turn based.. though not really alot of micromanagement.

BUT if you really want to "give him what he asked for"... Space Empires. 4 was prehaps one of the greatest successes, even if it was graphicly simple, the micromanagement of a space empire of 100 planets, with thousands of ships an star bases.. was intense. Could take you HOURS to process a single turn. 5 was VERY good as well, but has alot heavier graphics and processing requirements that even I have trouble running. (its amazing how intensive 6 spherewolds spread out among different systems, when only one is visible at a time, can be on your pc). In these games, you go from your first manned interplanetary ships, all the way to domination of a region of space and the construction of stellar objects (ring and sphere wolds), hell even stellar manipulation! (WAR. we blow up your stars now, make zem.. black holes! is okay doh... we destroy them vhen var is ofer... make spehrewolds there for us to liff on!). The modding potential of this game is astronomical, since both 4 and 5 work off bmps and text files. EVERY detail, from the interface graphics, the various races you have playing against, the planets and other stellar features, the sounds, and how many of what, is all modable.

  4. you know.. in WoW.. any single player mission. I could breeze through it solo....

I have finaly found a mission.. where even with my companion, I get WTFpwned, even though I am of the appropriate level for the quest.

WOW.. whoda thunk I'd be so in love with something I cant beat. lol

Right now I'm level 27 (highest level Ordo member, on the imperial side) and I really have to say.. while the story is amazing.. playing melee dps without a tank to support me, BITES. I do have a healer companion, but he's un-geared as yet as I havent used him before. I may have to start using him.

Now to figure out what stats he uses.

  5. Yoki, Sith Marauder.. with his history, playing an Inquisitor would have been more true to his story, BUT when it comes to these games, I prefer melee dps. I wish my sabers were black with a black glow.. instead of black with a gold glow like my special crystal gives me.

and Krow WTF.. I see you like.. everywhere d00d.. we're almost hte same level. I think you might be a level or 2 above me. Thats IF you are the one I am thinking of.

HAS anyone begun making the OI-sithside guild yet? If not, I will. I wish there was a listing so we could find out so I could make it this morning. (I may anyways)

edit to add: I checked out how the guilds are made in game. It will require we be in a group at the time of creating, so we'll all need to be online at once to do it, but I am all set to cover the (hefty) registration fee and get the guild made once we get the 4 people online and in a group. And Krow, your name isnt checking out on Vrook Lamar.. you sure sure you spelled your name right?

  6. AND dont forget how willing George is to throw cannon out for every new movie/game and rewrite SW galactic history on a whim.

I once had 20k years of SW history (sith focused) memorized... but it was simple then, the content that George had allowed novelists and comic book writers to create and have made cannon. THEN then episodes 1-3 were released, the KOTOR games, and suddenly history is being.. re-envisioned by George and everything I knew, vanished.

The only thing I know now... is a proper interpretation of the Sith code, which isnt actualy evil at all, it just allows for evil or good, unlike the jedi code which only allows for good.

edit to add: and it looks like the guild I dont want to stick with, is assigned to the Lord Adrass server, so if we're on Mask of Nihilus as marked above, then sweet, less drama for me!

  7. Yep, even though I registered my code in the summer, I wont be able to play it till I get hte cd's from the store, as the DL is way too Ffffing large for my ISP to allow without dollar signs in their eyes. And this is what.. the first game EVER where Europe is getting the CDs before north america? More incentive for me to live there.

  8. I agree, RP-PVE is the best choice. It allows us to chose when we want PVP, and if WoW was any indication, while there is prehaps less RP than we get in Ordo on Titan, there is a certain level of maturity among 99% of the players in these types of servers, not to mention naming conventions (though I'm not sure how TOR will impliment that, WoW had it easy, no numbers as they were inappropriate for the setting. BUT they are appropriate for the setting sometimes in SW, so we'll see)

  9. The education process for him to reach that point, in TS, was more epic than hte order itself. Its good to see the young bloods learning that moar dakka, is only needed when present efforts are insufficient to achieve the immediate goals.

  10. MOST canadians are unhappy with the ISPs available to us. we pay out the ass for crap. and the comapnies that DO give us decent deals, are being screwed by regulatory boards that favor the big monopolies.

edit to add: How the EFF do I quit the guild I am in? I have.. cause to quit it... (Kisho, Achtai, Yoki, I'm looking at you three and expecting a look of understanding).. and I want to join the Ordo one.. BUT I cant bloody well find the option to quit the guild.

  11. Now what I've wondered is this...

I'm due for early access... yay for CE preorders right? Well... if hte game isnt released till the 20th.. does that mean I'm gonna have to download the enitre game to get that early access since I dont have the disks?

I mean.. thats gonna suck for Canadians.... who get SHIT monthly bandwidth allowances already. Just with my skyrim patches alone, I hit 75% of my useage in november.

OR will they be nice, and let people with early access, actualy pick their disks up early? Any clue?

  12. BEHOLD BROTHERS FOR I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT.

And the light is the breath of dragons!

I have beheld the glory that is Skyrim in all its divinity.

I have drawn the blood of the impure Imperials.

I have drank of the elixir that pours forth from the slain dragons.

Rejoice brothers, for all that might be slain and yet will be slain.

    For I have cometh!
