    I first wanted to say that this is going to be me rambling about some might consider nothing important but I just thought I would share. I have not slept yet tonight and while awake I thought of the most important thing I could pass on. For those that do not know I am the mother of a now 11 year old. When I first joined Ordo I just thought it was a guild on a game. I have since found a gaming community followed by a family. I didn't know that people could actually care as much as I do about others online.

    I was sitting in the TOR channel one day and Xoza mentioned the codex and I had never bothered to read it before and I'm honestly glad he did. When I read it at first I skimmed it and then something caught my eye.

    These three things caused me to stop and head right back to the beginning and read it from start to finish. When I was done with it I had decided to start applying it not only in the games I was playing but outside of it as well. I applied it to my life outside of the internet. Everywhere I go I apply the 9 Titles that have been laid out before us to the best of my abilities ( within reason that can be applied outside of the internet ). I have even go so far as to start instilling them into my daughters life. I never thought that when Jundani recruited me that I would be doing this almost 9 months later.

    I guess in all my ramblings in this post is a big thank you to all of you here at Ordo for not only helping me improve my life, my daughter's life, but also helping me improve the lives of those around me by leading as an example of what a honorable and devoted person should be.

    Hey there,

    I have been here a few weeks, and the people are freakin' fantastic.  I enjoy our Teamspeak shennanigans (Hey Favre...).  I'm from Boston area, and I travel often for work (1/quarter) internationally, so I may be playing from my Surface Pro in Chile or India or Poland and such.

    Anyway, the 55s I play are Dusker (GS), Evenfall (SH) at the pub, and Nyghfall on the impie side (OP).   I love PVP, having quite a bit of experience in it, and I want to get more into the ops side of things.  I look forward to meeting all of you :)

    AxaraBlue reacted to Wolf Shaman in Community Ranking Revision - 19OCT13
    Greetings!

    I’m posting this to explain some changes to our community ranking structure that is coming down the pipe. For most of you, you will not notice much of a change, But for our Vets, this will be a bit of a shift from our traditional ranking system.

    The Goal of this system is to move to a ranking system that more reflects our community as a chapter based community from that of a Single Platform mil-sim group. We’re going to be implementing the Billitied Ranking system that we’ve been talking about for a while.

    Billited Ranks basically mean that You hold the rank for as long as you hold the position. When you no longer hold the position, you will return to a member rank. Please note, that Bilited Ranks to not transfer between chapters. If you’re SG3-4 in PS2, You do not automatically become command or staff of SW:TOR.

    Ranking Changes

    SG1 = Community Member

    -Entry Rank, Majority of people here.

    SG2 = Community Veteran

    SG1 Minimum time requirement = 6 months.

    -Ordo people who’ve been around for a long time or have served in chapter leadership. Current Principales will be moved here.

    SG3 = Chapter Specialist / SGT - Billet Rank

    -Support staff position. Your squad/group/event leaders, Special Group Leaders (Think OSWO), Recruiters, Quartermasters, etc.

    -Billet Exemption: As Recognition for their service and achievements, Former CENTCOM Members will be awarded SG3 as a global community ranking.

    Enlisted Ranks Above

    ================

    Officer Ranks Below

    SG4 = Chapter Commander / Officer Staff / JR Officer - Billeted Rank

    Officer Rank. - Chapter Grade

    Billeted to Chapter Commander and XO. Additional slots available depending on chapter size and CENTCOM review.

    People in this rank are considered Officers of the Ordo Imperialis, and are expected to conduct themselves as such, as they will become ambasadors of the community as a whole as we expand into new communities. They will be tasked with General day to day Administration of their chapter.

    As with the limited scope of SG3, Chapter officers focus on their chapters and officer powers do not extend into other active chapters, But that does not limit an SG4 officer from providing input and advice when asked from other officers in another chapter.

    Potential CENTCOM members will spend time in the SG4 rank where Community officers can observe their administrative and command ability.

    SG5 = CENTCOM - Community Administration - Billeted Rank (Believe it or not!)

    Officer Rank. - Community/Global Grade

    SG4 minimum Time Requirement = 2 months.

    All Current officers will be combined into this one rank, and not much outside of that has changed. CENTCOM are the community managers who take care of all the back end stuff. This is the only group who maintain their influence across all platforms. SG5 personnel will typically be involved in the setting up of new chapters, settling disputes, and drinking coffee.

    SG4 officers who show interest and potential for working in an administrative role and show dedication to the community as a whole may eventually find themselves promoted to this role.

    CENTCOM has become a bit more dynamic in these days. We’ve recently had some officers opt to step down from CENTCOM due to increased RL Demands. We’ve had some in the past who’s stepped down because They’ve lost interest or didn't have anything to do. These people have served the group well, and offer their space to the newer generation of Ordo to advance and bring their skills to the table.

    SG6 = Imperator - Aryte

    Nothing has changed here. Keep Dreaming.

    A special citation this week, the issuing of the [Corona Vallaris], our second highest award for combatant ability to the following individuals...
    Odin047, Gavrielloken, MadSeasonOfGrief, Angelin01, Wolf Shaman
    This citation reads:
    "The Battle of the Traverse.

    Ordo was moving to take the NW part of Esamir from the NC. We had just captured the Freyr Network compound from the raw recruits that the NC left to garrison the base, when NC Population Spiked as the alert hit.

    After capping the point, Ordo was counter-attacked by an air based outfit. Three Liberators, suppoting fighters, and a Galaxy that unloaded drop troops, and provided gunship support.

    Ordo fought them off as best as we could, delaying their progress into TR Territory. Eventually we were pushed back into the Transverse.

    While shaking off the initial shock of the air attack, We managed to knock down some aircraft and pop some additional ground support armor. At one point, we had one second on the clock and we were able to fight our way to the point, stall the clock for 10-15 seconds while we hunted down and cleared the last NC from the point, then flipped it back.

    On the map, Territories around us were flipping blue and some lesser willed NC Left the fight at the Transverse to go fight elsewhere, slowly evening the odds. We sent a few people back into the network compound to hack turrets and harass NC while we waited for the point at the transverse to recap.

    With half of NC chasing after cloaked infiltrators and playing flip the point, Ordo was able to push NE back into Freyr Network Compound and then retake the base in time to see TR re-link with the squad and push on into Freyr Amp."
    As such, for exceptional performance in the commission of battle, the previously listed  individuals are awarded the Corona Vallaris.

    Welcome to the Ordo Imperialis Forums, there's a lot to do here, there's a lot of information, it changes daily and can get overwhelming, especially with the more access you gain, the more there is to keep up with... WELL here's a few tips and tricks from all of us and some newer or unused features to help you on your way to exploration! We made a good investment with this powerful forum software, let's be sure we use it to the fullest capabilities.

    Start Page
    The first page of http://forums.ordoimperialis.com is the 'start' page of our forums. You can get here easily by using that address of course, or if you're already in the forums, just clicking [The Ordo Imperialis] Tab or the banner above.

    Posting a topic or reply
    If you wish to start a topic under an area, you may select [start New Topic] at the top right of that board. These topics are often moderated so please keep it on topic and respectful. If you wish to reply under an already started topic, you'll find a 'quick reply' option at the very bottom of the thread. The quick reply is a simpler mini editor you can use. The difference between the full and mini editor is a few management and file tools.

    The editors are pretty straightforward, there are plenty of options at the top you can explore to fullfill your layout needs just like any word document. Play with them, make sure you know what they do. When you create a thread or edit your own with the full editor, you also have the option to add tags to your thread. These help sorting, searches and disovery of your topic. Keep tags simple and basic, relevent to the topic you are posting. If you are pasting content from another area, it is always best to use the "Paste as Plain Text" button in the top right with the other paste options. This is good practice to ensure a clean transition. Other options would be to paste it from a notepad or Ctrl+Shift+V if you have that option on your browser.

    Quoting
    Quoting someone allows you to present who you are talking to or replying to in your thread, this also sends them a small notification ping shown in the top right of the forums next to your login name if they have those notification options turned on. To do this you can select the |Quote| or the |Multiquote| button at the bottom of their post. It will place what they posted in a quote box, in your quick reply at the bottom. If it's long or there are parts that are irrelevant to what you are replying too, you can delete these parts, as long as the information within the |quote name| remains.

    Images
    It's the internet, what site doesn't support the posting of those irrelivant, crazy, funny or trollish pictures!? One of the best way's to make a thread more fancy or interesting is visual stimuli. When working on your post, you can find a button on the top of your editor that lookse like a window. If you click this, you can post a link of the image you wish to post. If you feel the image is too big for the post, a good option is to drop it between spoiler tags. All bbcode can be entered in the code view mode (the lightswitch at the top left of your editor), only a few like ['spoiler'] can be used in the standard editor.

    Images
    [img=http://www.images.com/myimage.jpg]Spoiler
    [spoiler]Stuff I want to put under a button you have to click to show.[/spoiler]You can find plenty of other BBCode options, under the "Special BBCode" button in the top left.

    Unread and New
    As stated in the introduction, the forums here change often, we keep pretty busy. To help many of us keep track of what's going on, and observe everything everyone is saying so we don't miss anything, there are some pretty nifty features. At the very top right of the forums you'll find a [View New Content] link. If you click this, it will take you to a page showing every thread that has a new post since last you marked the thread as read or opened it. If you want to see a summary or quickly mark the thread as read, you can hover over the thread and an down arrow will show for you to click on, a few options are available there. To view this thread from the first page, you can click on the title, or you can click on the last poster's date at the end of this display to open the thread at the last post.

    Read
    Once you've read or opened a topic, it will marked as 'read' and will not show up again in new content, until someone makes another post. This doesn't mean however you have to read every post to remove it or clear it from the list. There are some threads that may not really interest you for one reason or another. Again you can mark these as read by popping down the summary with the arrow or finish reading what you were interested in and at the bottom left side of the forums there's a selection menu called [Mark Community Read]. You can open up this menu and select "Mark all as Read" or any other relevant selection.

    Following, Liking & Rating
    Following allows you to follow a topic you may be interested in, with additional options tied into your notification settings. This can be found at the top-right of every thread. When a topic is changed or replied to, you will get this notification either in the top right, next to your login name as well as a possible email, depending on your notification settings.

    Right below following, is your thread rating. This allows an individual to rate a topic by interest, entertainment value or how well on track or relevant it may be. While we don't really focus on thread ratings, it's there for anyone who want's it, use it realisticly and don't take advantage of it.

    In every post you will find a 'like' button at the bottom right, this allows members to mark a sort of appreciation for the post that can lead to the popularization of the thread as a whole and easily allow others to find relevant or helpful information. The amount if liked posts can also be found on your profile. Again, this is not something to be taken advantage of, as it amounts to no personal gain.

    Location
    Every thread you find has a 'location'. Forums are often built like trees. The root being the main forum page, the branches spanning out to other boards of various interests. If you are unsure of where a thread is located, you can find it at the top of every forum page like your standard file browser "|The Ordo Imperialis| > |Announcements & Guidelines|". This also shows where you are within the forums tree. You can also use this to go back to previous levels or go to the begining. If you're unsure where a forum resides or if it's relevant to you, be sure to check this location!

    Search
    One of the most important features to find conversations that may already exist. You can click the eyeglass or the advanced options gear to search with additional features. This includes titles only, content only or both. In addition to searching forums, you can also search for members.

    Members
    Members list can be accessed via the top left tabs. This shows a list of all our members their levels and links to their profiles. You must be logged in to see this information.

    Your Profile & Content
    All your profile, content, replies, settings and more can be found under a menu when you click on your login name at the top right side of the forums. In this area you can also find your messenger, notifications and friend lists. Again, though the information you place in your profiles is not public, it is available to any registered members.

    Calendar
    Members can access the calendars by the tabs at the top of the forums. This is a place where we post official event plans and information you can view. You can also follow these events, rate them, RSVP to them and make comments. Officers and other coordinators can post these events using a detailed outline.

    Example

    ▶ Chapter I: Introduction

    The following document serves as the basic codification for the military combat gaming group known as the Ordo Imperialis. The materials listed herein are available for public view and shall be treated as unclassified. All registered members and potential applicants to the Ordo Imperialis are expected to understand and abide by the contents of this document. Questions relating to materials may be directed to the presiding Tribunus officer corps.

    Individuals wishing to pursue enlistment within the Ordo Imperialis are encouraged to read this document in its entirety. After which, an application may be found at the following web address: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?app=groupjoin

    ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

    ▶ Chapter II: Getting Started

    The following chapter outlines the basic experience and expectations that an applicant to the Ordo should be prepared for.

    ➡ Mission of the Ordo Imperialis
    The Ordo Imperialis is a professional grade virtual military combat organization. Founded originally as part of the Second Life Military Community, the Ordo has over six years of experience in combat gaming. The Ordo aims to provide a regimented, respectful atmosphere for anyone wishing to serve within a stable, efficient group. Personnel of the Ordo are to hold loyalty to one another, honor, discipline, and dedication to the highest of regards. All members are expected to serve within whatever duty assigned with pride and distinction, without exception.

    The Ordo’s slated goals are to exert military excellence at all times, and produce a respectable foundation for the gaming community. To be a member of the Ordo Imperialis is to be part of a continuing family, with traditions and values that have been born through years of experience. From cadet to commander: every Ordo member is held to high regard and respected as a brother at arms.

    ➡ The Process
    Application: In order to initiate one’s career, the first step is to submit an application. To do so, you must access the web form: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?app=groupjoin

    As a general rule: an individual who takes time to answer each question on the application honestly and thoroughly will have a far greater chance of making the cut. Upon submitting a complete form, the application is put into a queue for review. Wait times vary dependent upon current loads: expect to wait at least two business days, but typically no greater than five.

    Most applicants will be contacted by a member of the command staff; please be certain to respond to inquiries, as failure to do so will delay or result in a failed application. In the event that an application is deemed unacceptable, a denial letter will be sent detailing the reasons. After which, an applicant will be provided the opportunity to reapply after seven days. In the event that an application is deemed acceptable, the applicant will receive further instructions and enlistment invitations.

    Schola: Upon entrance to the Ordo, a new member is subjected to the Schola program. Schola is, for all intents and purposes, the Ordo’s “basic training.” Schola is designed to provide cadets all the basic information that he or she will need to survive—additionally; it is an opportunity for command members to review the cadet thoroughly for any issues that may inhibit their participation within the group at a proper level.

    Schola is separated into several phases: each has a particular focus. Overall, Schola is typically conducted over the span of several days. Scheduling a phase may occur in two fashions: at random or on demand. Random classes occur based on instructor availability and will be announced over the group via notice. On demand classes occur based upon cadet request—to make a request, simply find an online instructor and send them a message.

    Induction: Provided all phases of Schola are completed at a satisfactory level, a cadet is graduated and inducted into the Ordo Imperialis as a full member. At such time, the cadet will be awarded the rank of [sG-1] and granted access to all group functions.

    ▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀▀

    ▶ Chapter VI: Constitutional Protocol

    The following is to be considered constitutional law, setting the general foundation by which a member of the Ordo Imperialis operates. All other regulation originated within the group must abide and fall within the scope of the following materials.

    ➡ [Title I] Standard of Authority
    It is necessary to adhere to the orders of personnel in enumerated positions of power. Furthermore, commissioned officers shall bear the explicit right to create additional policy or provide the necessary extension of authority for another individual to create policy.

    ➡ [Title II] Standard of Brotherhood
    It shall be the expectation that members of the Ordo Imperialis support other members of the Ordo Imperialis against the actions or accusations of outsiders. It shall not be acceptable to aid or abet others in seeking the detriment of another Ordo member.

    ➡ [Title III] Standard of Respect
    Members of the Ordo Imperialis must afford all individuals, whether another Ordo member or not, appropriate reverence and politeness. It shall not be acceptable to demean or attack others in a malicious manner.

    ➡ [Title IV] Standard of Integrity
    All members of the Ordo Imperialis shall be expected to exhibit sound integrity in all interactions. This includes, but is not limited to exercising sound decision making and exhibiting honesty.

    ➡ [Title V] Standard of Order
    To maintain civility and a professional atmosphere, members of the Ordo Imperialis shall be subject to a system of justice. Although variance will exist based upon severity of infraction, most events shall be afforded three stages of action: informal warning, formal reprimand, and expulsion.

    ➡ [Title VI] Standard of Information
    It shall be the responsibility of every member of the Ordo Imperialis to ensure information intended for privileged access to Ordo members shall remain accessible only by Ordo members. Additionally, all personnel are expected to maintain a general sense of understanding of ongoing actions by routinely reading any publications within the group.

    The Ordo Imperialis provides multiple avenues of communication with other members. All of these areas, unless otherwise excepted by enumerated personnel, are intended for use by only Ordo membership and respected allies.

    ➡ [Title VIII] Standard of Community
    To ensure a proper atmosphere, discussion within the Ordo Imperialis should be pertinent and within scope: controversial topics (such as religion and politics) are not permitted within any venue, unless in a reasonably private area with unanimous agreement from all present parties. Furthermore, all elements of conduct by the Ordo shall not exceed a general rating of PG-13.

    ➡ [Title IX] Standard of Allegiance
    The Ordo Imperialis generally does not and will not prohibit any individual, except commissioned officers, from participating in other community gaming groups. However, the Ordo shall expect that members of the group do not participate in other community groups directly opposed to any Ordo interest on any platform.
