  11. True. SL looks like shit and graphics are indeed not topnotch, but the performance differences between the two competitors were high enough for me to stick with one (though keep testing the other from time to time). Google it, SL has been known and it's pretty much common knowledge it runs better on eg nVidia, then AMD/ATi. But yes, for other applications, such as Fallout 3 you mentioned, has indeed chance to run better then on nVidia equivalents. Anyways. For Second Life, as Daymian wanted to know, from my experiences with the HD3/4000 series and GF9,GTX series... it runs smoother on nVidia.
  12. Memory is always cool, you can never have enough. All the extra space is used for diskcaching so that's kinda cool. You can get extra speed for free if you'd set your Q6600 at 3.2GHz. Pretty much all revisions of this processor can easily run at this clockspeed. While I don't know what you are doing next to Second Life, it is still a known fact that ATi Radeon cards perform less then nVidia equivelants in Second Life. (I've gone from HD3870, to 9600GT, to HD4870, to 9800GTX, to HD4890, to GTX260 in relatively short period of time so I've noticed the differences).
  13. Would be great fun for ol' timers wouldn't it ;p Welcome! :D
