Kicking off the summer in a expensive way 8D

So....

I got into a bike crashed a few days ago. Long story short I hit something while pulling off the side of the road going about 45 mph. It bottomed out my front forks and tossed my front end 3 inches in the air. Instinctively i griped my handle bars. Since i was using my breaks to slow down I gripped the front break harder. I my rear end went in the air, shifted to my right side and the bike basically fell on its right side while I was going out 30-35 mph. Ended up holding onto it as I was sliding down the shoulder and into the grass. When I stopped my leg was still pinned under the motorcycle. Several people pulled over, got the bike off me. I walked away from the crash but limping. 3 hours later my friend has my pickup truck at the crash, loaded the bike and went back home.

All in all I am fine. I suffered minor road rash on my right hip and a cracked fibula.

Battle damage as follows. Chip a grand off of it because I found a cheaper site.

It's 90 bucks well spent and first thing I got for my Fz6, right after lamp modulators.

Losing one of my close friends "Furp" to a motorbike accident about 100 miles from here at 29 palms really tore me up.

Furp and I met in 98 when both him and myself were stationed at 32nd st Naval Base. I was working along the border and he was on the USS Rushmore.

We were close friends hanging out often, all the way till 2003 when he ETS home.

His death has effected me like none others. Like a piece of my soul was ripped away, and I still feel it missing 2 years later.
