[20:28] Aryte Vesperia: Oh yes. Addressing command solidarity concerns.

[20:29] Aryte Vesperia: In the event of any sort of event that would require officer direction--for example, defense of Titan, only one individual should and really legally can be delegating.

[20:29] Aryte Vesperia: I know there is a habit of chiming in. "We should do this" sort of comments. Or "don't shoot them, because . ."

[20:30] Aryte Vesperia: Those are two common phrases, among many others, that I note on coms.

[20:31] Aryte Vesperia: Input is great and necessary. Communication is important. But input and communication should not be prefixed with "we should," "don't," etc. Although you may not intend to "give an order," you are essentially infering that you are.

[20:31] Aryte Vesperia: Even if an E-3 is rambling about "shoulds" and "don'ts" while an O-3 is in command, it creates confusion.

[20:32] Aryte Vesperia: The responsibility of OIC is to be the individual who delegates. The remaining staff and on hand support is just that. Support. Listen and manuever as directed. If you've got information, state it. But don't infer command.

[20:32] Aryte Vesperia: I know someone mentioned concern over "reluctancy of assuming OIC."

[20:32] Aryte Vesperia: As in, noting a superior is on map, but they're not readily apparent as the OIC.

[20:33] Aryte Vesperia: Pretty easy way to handle that. Comm it. "Current OIC?" No reply, assume and move on. If it comes back to burn you later, better to have the superior officer giving you angry stares than no one taking the lead while the superior is afk.

[20:34] Aryte Vesperia: As always, announce your presence and make it clear.

[20:34] Aryte Vesperia: "Current OIC?"

[20:35] Rei Kuhr: Along the same lines as what was said, it's best not to argue with orders as well, especially in public. If the OIC gives an order that you do not agree with it, talk to him publically about it. Challenging them in public is a good way to be punitively punished.

[20:36] Desereck Creeggan: I've noticed many times on sim, where we are being attacked that one person or I ask for an OIC currently, no one replies and I look around at ranks to see who should. I see people who should be taking command because they are there, but they dont. It becomes increasingly frustrating for defence gets really haywired. Maybe something that would boost confidence in officers to take OIC?

Sometimes if say im back and fourth cooking dinner, or 10 minutes from goign to work ill hop on sim and idle around incase there is an emergency or to defend if i see it, but will not take OIC. Wouldnt threatening people with loss of comission just cause them to stay away for that time?

[20:42] Aryte Vesperia: If there are, for example, four officers sitting on base during an attack and none of them are chiming in, I find that negligent of duty. I consider that reportable. I'd rather have them fighting eachother for command, than sitting on their hands.

[20:43] Aryte Vesperia: If officers mysteriously disappear (highly doubt that'd ever happen) to avoid OIC, then they would again, be neglecting duty and lose their commission.

[20:43] Desereck Creeggan: In other occasions where there actualy is no OIC on sim to take charge, only enlisted or lower rank NCO's there are Praetorians on. Arent Praetorians supposed to assume OIC in these instances? If so there is the same reluctancy to take charge and organize the defense. I understand its not regulatory for Praetorians to take OIC, but in required situations I've seen only few who do.

[20:45] Aryte Vesperia: It is a Praetorian's responsibility to do so, yes. It is actually a regulation within their codex to do so.

[20:45] Aryte Vesperia: If you note any failure to do such, simply toss it over to Kytec and he'll take it from there.

[20:46] Aryte Vesperia: NCO's work the same method as officers. In the absence of an officer, senior NCO may assume command.

[20:46] Aryte Vesperia: This has happened several times in the past, especially at late hours.

[20:47] Aryte Vesperia: If, for say, officers are present but afk/off staring at walls.

[20:47] Aryte Vesperia: NCO can still step up.

[20:47] Aryte Vesperia: Just be ready to relinquish it on an officer's return.

What can be done either externally/politically to assure our inclusion or internally to give us some sort of ancillary role?

[20:57] Aryte Vesperia: It isn't an "ordo fleet" denied. Our two primary targets were initially "no aircraft/fleet."

[20:57] Aryte Vesperia: We brought up aircraft in both.

When Fermi is forced to the ground, his efficiency decreases none what so ever as he provides essential cover for our ground troops. Off the field he is a great comrade and always does the best."

He was able and constantly active, providing fire on the Northwest Temple, and holding the center temple with Tandem Destiny who I'll now adress for performance just as Jester, who has shown me his true colors on the battlefield."

She has constantly offered to help with Phase 4 training and other things on base, and can almost always be found on the south end of the wall, watching and waiting for the enemy to fall into her crosshairs. She did an awesome job in helping stop the response attack on Titan, even returning after having issues with things off of Second Life, yet showing devotion to the protection of Titan and continueing thereafter those issues had been dealt with."

Its hard to overstate my satifaction with this guy's performance. He even held down the main office of the Rebel's leader, and sat in his chair. Lestat was an amazing asset on the battlefield today, making use; along side me, of the Velox and turning the tide swiftly, providing teleports on request, and keeping everyone focused on Ventrilo as well, he stunned everyone today, and I believe I'm not the only one reporting his excellence on the battlefield. He deserves reward for his efforts. Along with me, he continued his impressive display of power onto SLSN soil, helping to pin them to their offices until the Iron Symphony called the end to this massive event."
