Kellervo
IIRC, some of the people who worked on NEO and Hull actually work for Zombie Studios - the team behind BL - now. I could be wrong on that note, but they did list both as inspirations for the aesthetics.
Agares Tretiak
Not surprised: The Post-cyberpunk tech-FPS genre is a limited field right now. And regardless of anything else, it has pretty damn slick design sensibilities.

Mark Karlfeldt
sorry mark, it needed to be posted here due to relevancy That suit has won me more than $500 in games.
Mark Karlfeldt
Man, why the Ffff did I even bother getting a key. I can't play this game. They won't ever make Australian servers, and even if they did, no one in this Ffffing country would even give it a glance when they're pissing away time on Modern Warfare or Battlefield or whatever else flavour of the month rehash game is. Lanny Ansar
Long-story short: Mark hates every modern FPS to-date because he can't play them on that silly Prison Island known as Australia.
Mark Karlfeldt
Actually I changed my mind - grabbing an SMG and charging straight at an enemy while spamming a wall of bullets seems to work remarkably well under lag.
Kellervo
http://www.alienwarearena.com/giveaway/blacklight-retribution-beta-key-giveaway/The Phase 3 Beta is only open for a couple more days, but here's a free shot to get in. :dI got my own key, and while I had issues at first (using Nvidia? Update drivers, and if you have issues, disable Dx11) it's an incredibly fun game once you're going. That said I'm not sure why my compact bullpup is a better sniper rifle then the actual sniper rifle... George Reisman
Eh, I played a game or two, just didn't seem like my kind of game, really. I'll give it another try after Tribes.

Tsukiyomi Yuhara
Played two rounds and did pretty well.. Once I got the grasp of the weapon and my net stopped spazzing out I was doing pretty well.I dislike the whole "Buy a weapon for a day" Cash shop system, however getting about 150~gp per match isn't all that bad, still might find it annoying in the near future. Kellervo
Play Domination. I averaged 350 - 400 GP, and peaked at around 790 GP in a single match (you get 0.25 or so for every point your team scores in Domination - which caps at 1000, and even a crappy team will get 400). Tsukiyomi Yuhara
Once I started getting setup and learning the maps, KOTH and TDM were pulling in 300+GP a match even for quick matches. Though I realize the first time you come against someone who spent real cash on the game you get your shit stomped at every turn..
Kellervo
P2W is currently disabled - the guys you're running against are either exploiters or no-lifers who've grinded 20 - 30 levels in a week. The former simply slap electro mags into everything (which are glitched, and deal 120% damage and impair vision / aiming on everything instead of just hardsuits), and might just camp by a depot to spam specialized Stingers. The latter are fearsome because they have access to all of the blinged out gear.

Agares Tretiak
Did they fix the flamethrowers? Also, the dynamics of the game scream "TEAMWORK"
Kellervo
Flamethrowers are still very powerful, but the range isn't as bad as it was the first day I played. It's great for the CQC maps (and for toasting lone hardsuits) but it's not a freakish abomination. Also, most of the teamwork-related unlocks ironically are some of the hardest to get, and they cost alot. A gun part costs 500. A backpack costs 5,000.EDIT: Beta was extended until January 15th, 2012.
