Deadmon
Much like the 720, release date isnt set in stone, however there are suggestions of a 2013 Holiday release. No used games, motion controls rumored to be similar to kinect. Blue Ray confirmed still, no backwards comparability with PS3.Will feature an AMD CPU and graphics card in one chip, their new fancy chips.PS3 is currently the top-selling console across the globe, so many people believe they dont want to release this too soon and kill its momentum. However many companies have already received dev kits. I wouldnt expect a small game library like PS3s initial release.
SalemAdams Wobbit
Ah, so it will use their "fusion" core. I actually built a computer using one of those and it plays Blu-Ray decently with low power consumption.Sadface about the backwards compatability. They had that for the PS2 and for the PS3 for a while (until the release of the slim).

Deadmon
really the only difference besides much upgraded specs is that it wont play used games, but it seems almost all consoles are going that direction now.
CrescentSnow
Good portion of people buy used games, they are trying to help stop piracy. You are going to need a special code for used a game then you have continue paying or something. I think they are going to be losing a lot money over this. Deadmon
Maybe, or itll just force people to buy the games they want to use new / wont let people use gamefly ect.Piracy isnt an issue with PS3, as there isnt really a way to download/burn/play stolen games. SalemAdams Wobbit
It's too bad about the used game department. That really doesn't help other people and that will ultimately kill not only retailers (because some actually do sell used games) but it will also have other people go to other consoles that will allow such a thing, if they don't change their pricing scheme. Not everyone buys a brand new game, and hell, I buy used games sometimes.
Krow Ames
Yeah, there's a way to download and play games via PS3 and 360. You have to void the warranty of the system, of course, but you can burn games to DVD's. Might have to use a blu-ray for PS3, though, I'm not sure. SalemAdams Wobbit
Blu-Ray drives can read DVDs...for now. Blu-Ray uses a blue laser (hence the name) where DVDs and CDs use a red laser.
Cyphre Iredell
It would be their efforts to thwart the zero profit used games market. If they've already found a processor architecture, it'll be out of date by the time it's released. I have more hope there is a Steam console at that rate.
Deadmon
You say out of date, but most developers and Sony all agree people havent maxed out the PS3s potential still. Most games are the quality they are / amount of content so theres easy conversion for XBOX versions generally speaking.Though technology gets better at an exponentially faster pace as time progresses, so its likely that consoles lifespans are going to be their Achilles heel in the near future

Cyphre Iredell
Nobody maxed out the potential because it was never worth it for developers to adapt code to try and run 9 different cores for different processes. This is why games like FEAR were absolutely terrible on the PS3. It hasn't been maxed because nobody cares to if they can get it on Xbox and PC a whole lot easier (god damn I hate GFWL....). Xoza
This finalizes my return to full PC and never touching a console again.

Recent games like BF3 even make you download the HD texture pack because it wont fit on disc with the rest of the shit they have to include. That and anything thats PC vs Console, usually the PC version is better. Simply because theres a world more flexibility with controls and UI.
