  1. He led the defense of western Europe, around the time of D-Day. What about Zukhov?

  2. In short: Nazis louse up anything they touch. Just like Christoph and the VG.
  3. WAIT. YOU ARE OFFICER. You sip tea and eat cakes, as you nonchalantly order men into battle, assured of Ordo superiority and the victory that is soon to come. BUT. You sit next to a table with a full set of communications and monitoring gear, since you do want to keep an eye on things. Viola.
  4. And drinking gin and tonics, speaking of the Empire, the civil war, and cotton production rates in Egypt.
  5. iBuypower is a good company, from what I've seen. I was considering buying one of theirs, over what I have, but I decided, all in all, that I wanted to build my own rig. If you don't want to deal with custom assembly, then go for a prebuilt.
  6. I think he meant "Imperial Gothic". Think Warhammer 40,000.
  7. Psh. YOu could be Gerd Von Rundstedt Or err...Goering?

  8. You are not, nor ever will be, Erwin Rommel.
  9. Bronze! Yes! And steel. And iron. And more marble.
  10. Grass and trees and broad, imperial avenues. And marble. Lots of marble.
  11. As always, I live to serve. Err...when will the meetings be held?
  12. German cars, German drivers, German hospitals. They've got it covered! Europe tends to have generally, much better -trained- drivers. That's like...everyone. I'm serious.
  13. Here's the rules: No politics, religion, or anything broadly offensive (racism, intolerance, etc). I'll start us out with this article I found while wandering the web. Legos Fill Holes in Real Buildings
  14. Of those weapons listed, only the Mortar qualifies as an artillery weapon. The others are infantry based explosive heavy weapons OR a rifle with a grenade launcher. Not artillery. Mortars can be rather tricky to utilize, really. Even with the "get:cam" command, directing a shell onto a target usually requires a barrage of well placed shells in the targets vicinity, and if the target runs to the other side of the sim while you're firing, so much for that. As defense OIC, if a mortar is required, I generally ask if anyone has been -trained- on one (read: academy course), first. If they haven't been, I will take command of one and use it appropriately. IF they have been trained, I tell them they are not allowed to fire, until I say to open fire with it. This is well within the realm of OIC abilities. THe OIC has the absolute discretion of when to deploy artillery, how much, and when, but they have the training to do so. Asking a lot to do this or this (something I've done from time to time in the past) can distract the OIC. Heavy weapons and weapons with grenade launchers (M203s, etc) should be cleared by the OIC within the realm of heavy weapons. Especially the Pilum, which with massed fire, is overwhelming. Our days of the "bunny hop defense" are mostly over. It only happens occasionally now, that I've seen, but it's still OICs and Officers in general to remind the defenders that the bunny hop isn't allowable, save maybe a handful of circumstances, which would still require the OIC to clear the use of jetpacks in that manner. If early morning defense has holes, I recommend the following tactic in order to tighten your defensive line: Order everyone to stay on the walls. This may seem boring and no fun, but the alternative of finding Geodan and an armful of SK inside the base should be distasteful to all of us. A tighter defensive line allows for a multiplier in the effectiveness of a small group of defenders. Also, OICs should try to get additional people on sim if an attack occurs. You'd be surprised how many people will show up for a little early morning action.
  15. ...I hate my school! I can't see into Chronus, from Titan. Raaaaage.
  16. Well, I'm not trying to e-peen here. I'm just curious what others think of the general build and it's components, and if it'll function nicely as a low highend, high midrange gaming computer.
  17. Currently, I'm running off of a 5 year old AMD box with way outdated hardware. To rectify this issue, I've decided to purchase a new computer, with a student loan I'm taking out this summer. Here's the specs: CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale 3.0GHz 6MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor I went with this Intel model because it overclocks like a dream, it runs smooth, and I don't need quad core functions to play games or do most of what I do on a computer, these days. Video Card EVGA 01G-P3-1282-TR GeForce GTX 280 Superclocked 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card I wanted to go for a fairly powerful video card, this time, and it comprises the most expensive single component of my computer. This one has good ratings, good stats, and is much better than anything I've everowned. the only down side is that it's huge, requiring me to buy a new case for it. Motherboard ASUS P5Q-E LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard I've been casting about for a while for a good, solid board that may not be a RAMPAGE or RoG rated monster, but is nice, stable, and has decent technology. I settled on this one, but I'm still a bit iffy on my choice. RAM 2X - G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK I know, it's not triple channel DDR3, but then again, I'm not running an i7, either. From my research, it appears to be good and solid, with excellent timings and good for a upper-middle range gaming machine. I felt 8gb of slower memory may do me more good than 6gbs of faster stuff. Anc cheaper, too. HDD Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive 650 GB is more storage than all the computers I've ever owned up to this point combined. I'm sure I can make due without a TB storage device, for at least a few more years. Optical Drive I'll just port over my good ol', solid optical drive from my old machine. It runs well and should be compatible with the system. I'll worry about a BLu-Ray when there's more quality, cheaper drives available for purchase. OS Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit for System Builders w/ Tech Guarantee - OEM I don't need the retail version's support. I'm savvy enough to work through or research any problems I may have. Ultimate is too expensive for only a handful more features. Case COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case It's not a COOLER MASTER HAF case, but it will get the job done nicely, especially with the two additional 120mm fans I'm getting to install in it. Monitor ASUS VH242H Black 23.6" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor I was due for a nicer monitor. This seems nice and well rounded. Power Supply CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC I couldn't pass up a powersupply this nice, that I can use in the machine if I upgrade to an i7 mobo and cpu. Periphials and extras I'm getting an OCZ Alchemy II Keyboard, because I can't justify the price of a Logitech G11 as much as I like the look and sound of its features. A logtitech G5 wired laser mouse will replace a 5$ P.o.S. that I've been using for 5 years. I'll be replacing the stock fan of my new chip with a COOLER MASTER GeminII S RR-CCH-PBU1-GP 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler. For the price and performance, I can't do much better in upgrading the chipset heatsink and fan I think. Thoughts? Note that I already ordered the Video Card, CPU, Power Supply, and Monitor.
  18. Holy crap. Dark Age Romans! Hell yeah. Gotta see if it's free online or a monthly charge...
  19. This is great news! Jason is totally awesome.
