Potion Creation Notes JSylvan Dibella's Tester
. Reagents must share at least one Alchemy Trait or the attempt will fail and you will lose all components

Alchemy is able to create several concoctions that are not found in the game world, including multi-effect potions.
Poisons were not available in the November beta, and may not be present in this beta, so rest assured that if you create a potion that melts your insides rather than those of the enemy, don’t worry, that’s normal.


To make a potion, you need at least two ingredients and a solvent. The ingredients you combine determine the effect of the potion, as well as grant you experience points towards alchemy.
Every ingredient has 4 'traits' which start off unknown, but you may eat an ingredient to discover the first trait, and conduct experiments to unlock the rest.

When you mix two ingredients with the same trait, you receive a potion with that effect - for instance, Water Hyacinth and Wormwood both have "Weapon Crit" as a potential effect, so if you mix the two, you will receive a mixture that boosts your critical strike rating a significant amount (by 601, according to the tooltip).

The solvent is the liquid that you are mixing the potions in , and for now, that solvent is just various kinds of water that you find in the world.
The solvent you use determines the level of the potion; a health potion made with the lowest level water will make a level 3 potion, whereas the next grade up will make a potion suitable for a level 10 character.

There are also ‘anti-traits’ which will prevent you from making certain potion types. For instance, Namira’s Rot+Wormwood+Water Hyacinth would normally make a potion that improves all forms of critical strike as well as adding ‘Unstoppable,’ but because Water Hyacinth features ‘Stun,’ the potion will not be capable of Unstoppable, even though Wormwood and Namira’s Rot both have the trait for it.

The most important talent of them all will have to be the triple ingredient talent, Laboratory Use, allowing you to mix 3 ingredients at once. This unlocks an incredible assortment of potential potions, as any third ingredient you use will add a number of effects based on how well it matches against the other two. This is what is going to make alchemist’s potions far superior than anything that can possibly be found while questing. Do note the experience earned does not increase with a third ingredient added; it is purely for making better potions.

1. Bugloss/Columbine creates a mixture that restores both health and magicka without the need for a third ingredient.
Mountain Flower as a third ingredient will allow it to also restore stamina, creating a restore health+stamina+magicka potion with no negative secondary effects.
All three ingredients are common, making it an incredibly useful potion that trumps standard single-effect restore potions.

2. Namira’s Rot is a mushroom that features both speed and invisibility.
It can be combined with
Blue Entoloma for invisibility or
Blessed Thistle for speed.
Mixing
Namira’s rot, Blue Entoloma, and Blessed Thistle = invisible and fast.
Nirnroot is also an acceptable replacement for Blue Entoloma, but unfortunately combines negatively with Blessed Thistle to hurt your health.

3. Emetic Russula is a mean ingredient with ravage traits for all 3 resources, plus stun. It can easily be combined with;
Stinkhorn OR Violet Coprinus = drain either health and stamina, or health and magicka.
Stinkhorn+Dragonthorn = drain health+stamina+armor,
Stinkhorn AND Violet Coprinus = drain health+stamina+magicka (though there are varieties of ways to achieve this same effect)
Stinkhorn OR Violet Coprinus after adding Water Hyacinth to add a stun in addition to draining health+stamina or health+magicka.
If poisons do end up being implemented, this is going to be nasty.

4. Lady's Smock and Cornflower Restores magicka and also boosting spell power.
This seems to be one of a couple potions that is fairly powerful with only two ingredients. That being said, it still has potential to be improved, and adding
Water Hyacinth will tack on spell crit to the mix to add a little oomph to the next cast or two.
Alternatively,
Wormwood can be substituted for detection instead of spell crit;
I don't know how strong detection will be, but it's possible that if some jerk is using potion #2 up there to get away, you'll be able to nab him.

5. Dragonthorn and Blessed Thistle share Weapon Power, as well as stamina regen. Throw in a
Water Hyacinth, and you’ll also tack on Weapon Crit to the mix for an offensive potion.

6. Columbine, Mountain Flower, and Imp Stool would raise armor while restoring health and stamina.
At least, it would if Imp Stool didn’t have “Ravage Stamina” tacked on to it. It still restores health and boosts armor, making a nice tanking mix.

I just ordered all of the parts to make this build, should arrive in a week or so. What are your guys' thoughts on this rig? Pay no attention to the prices listed, my settings were screwed up.

Lots of the members here have tried Elder Scrolls Online and do not plan on using our beta keys, or some of us received extra keys. I have 3 beta keys and have two beta keys to give away for anyone who is interested. If anyone has not played the beta yet and would like to please message me as soon as possible. I am a pc gamer at heart, and love playing swtor daily. I love dissecting and discussing computers, and specialize in programming AI algorithms. I watch tons of anime and love JRPGs, so if you are interested in talking I'm usually in Swtor TS Imperial chat as Magnus or DeumDeorum. 

Guess I should do one of these so I figured why not and made this thread

 

As you can tell my nickname is faardor (which stems from a roleplay character of SL SWRP) and signed up for the SW TOR part of the guild after being persuaded by a SL friend of mine (that would be Ren / Kullastia / Kal'liope) to join Ordo. I figured why not since a couple of other SL SWRP friends are in the guild.

 

I am a big star wars geek and speak a lot of mando'a (aka mandalorian for those that dont know) and am pretty well into the culture to consider myself a mandalorian realist. I am not sure if that is a proper term but I basically translate it to this: I, in the real world, believe in the six tenants and the honor based (warrior) society revolving around it and try to follow the mandalorian code as much as I can. (although getting armor is gonna be a tough one lol)

 

Some of you might already know me if you RP in SWRP, some might me through the stories and jokes I tell ren who then tells to the people shes usually hanging out with on Teamspeak. I dont know why but people tend to think im funny. I am a big geek, female gamer (the other terms are kinda derogatory) and a sci-fi nerd as I not only love star wars but I also love star trek and even watched all the series + movies. DS9 being my favorite series. And I love both the Jem'hadar and the Klingon culture. I also like to read up on warhammer 40k every once in a while and am somewhat of an enthusiast into things related to the Tau and the Sisters of battle

 

If you want to swoon me over you gotta be wearing some thick beskar'gam, speak the language and have a good sense of honor.

Jokes aside if you want to know more just ask, I consider myself an open book, be careful however, I have been told I have more balls than most of the men that RP in SWRP and I am not afraid to voice an opinion on something or someone and be brutally honest.w

For those of you I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, please allow me to introduce myself. Some years ago, on the desolate waste that is known as Second Life, I had this silly notion that leading an internet community sounded like a good expenditure of my time. Seven years later, well . . . here we are! For the majority of the Ordo's existence, I did a lot of the wheel turning around here. No doubt, someone has probably told you horrible tales about mischief involving me. Most of the stories are probably true, especially if it starts with the line "this one time, Aryte was drunk." If there is one thing that can be said, I like to have a good time. But I also like to win while having a good time.

 

That's really the underlining idea behind the Ordo. We are here to take names, have a good time doing it, and build lasting friendships in the process.

 

Since August of 2013, I have been on a bit of a prolonged hiatus on account of joining the Army. I have a couple months left of training before I am in a more amiable environment to run around on the internet again consistently. Thankfully, that puts me in a prime position to sidle back in just prior to the release of a couple big titles that I have my eyes on.

 

Upon my return, I will certainly wade in and make all available effort to improve your experience here. I have no intent to shake up existing structure--provided it is working well! However, what you can expect from me can be broken down into three simple points:

 

Efficiency: I love the simplicity of order and the order of simplicity. I am my happiest when chain of command and structure make sense, are getting things done, and serve to improve your game-play experience. We are here to provide focus, direction, and motivation so that you as a member can hone in on simply having a good time.
 

Consistency: No one wants to be part of a community that applies its standards and expectations partially. Reputation is a very important part of any group. The Ordo will always strive to be known as an honorable, fair, and decisive organization.
 

Growth: Everyone has heard the idea that "more, the merrier." I am a strong believer in that. I am here to bring more folks into the fold, expand our horizons, and increase the number of individuals we get to interact with. There is nothing quite like having a big family of friends who you can go forth and experience new things with.
 

Tentatively, I am due back sometime around March 18th. In the interim, life will go on here just as it always has: the officers will govern in my spirit. For those of you eying TESO, it is highly probable you will have to endure me at a constant. I am aiming to make that "my" direct leadership venue for the foreseeable future! Otherwise, I also will continue to haunt Planetside 2 and whatever else I can find time to poke around on.

I've personally used Winamp since '98 of which I built my own first computer and it's been mostly the same since. This isn't only relevant to myself but to others I know and to the history of media players. I wasn't a big fan of AOL picking up Nullsoft, owner of Winamp and Shoutcast, but they've kept it to the standard It started with.

 

A few months ago, AOL, in all their wisdom announced they were letting go of Winamp and Shoutcast and shutting down it's services for it, Shoutcast has thousands of channels. Since then, people have been downloading the latest version possible and looking for answers hoping someone will pick it up, save it or come out with something similar. After plenty of interest from other companies like Microsoft, it seems an agreement of ownership has been reached and Radionomy will be taking up the reins.

I first wanted to say that this is going to be me rambling about some might consider nothing important but I just thought I would share. I have not slept yet tonight and while awake I thought of the most important thing I could pass on. For those that do not know I am the mother of a now 11 year old. When I first joined Ordo I just thought it was a guild on a game. I have since found a gaming community followed by a family. I didn't know that people could actually care as much as I do about others online.
 
I was sitting in the TOR channel one day and Xoza mentioned the codex and I had never bothered to read it before and I'm honestly glad he did. When I read it at first I skimmed it and then something caught my eye.

These three things caused me to stop and head right back to the beginning and read it from start to finish. When I was done with it I had decided to start applying it not only in the games I was playing but outside of it as well. I applied it to my life outside of the internet. Everywhere I go I apply the 9 Titles that have been laid out before us to the best of my abilities ( within reason that can be applied outside of the internet ). I have even go so far as to start instilling them into my daughters life. I never thought that when Jundani recruited me that I would be doing this almost 9 months later.
 
I guess in all my ramblings in this post is a big thank you to all of you here at Ordo for not only helping me improve my life, my daughter's life, but also helping me improve the lives of those around me by leading as an example of what a honorable and devoted person should be.

Its that time of year again... Christmas for us gamers always brings  in new deals with steam and other fancy things. But, it also brings in the trolls and new hidden agendas to spam and create non legit sites.
