  1. Needs more Intellivision. And that game in the late 80s where the controller was some sorta glove.
  2. Anyone got this? I just managed an invite. Go to the website. Ask for an invite and tell them you're willing to help troubleshoot. That's how I got it. Anyone have this? I wonder if it would be a good, alternative, secure way to group chat.
  3. I get tongue tied because of all these "SRS BZNS BE COGENT ORR ELSZ!!" posts.
  4. Chewbacca v. Bigfoot. Who wins?
  5. Ron, a dear friend of mine, a very feminine, hetero woman mentioned to me that she has a gun. This took me by surprise because libs don't usually pack heat. I asked her what kind, and her reply: .44 Magnum. "WTF?" I said. This didn't strike me as a very feminine calibre. Her reply, "It's a bit too much dick for me." Which begs the question, what is an acceptably feminine calibre I might suggest for her?
  6. Ron, if I gave you a potato, and that was the last potato you would ever have, how would you prepare your potato?
  7. How do I construct my own real life lightsaber? I have people who need to be regulated.
  8. I've said this before, but I still think our city should be dirtier the further from the base it is. Like the spawn should have flies and a garbage bin.
  9. Keystone, my beard is red. WTF? My hair is med/dark blonde. Yes, WTF? But, you know what, once it grows out and you trim it, it will work. I once rolled for 2 years with a beard. I can't swing it anymore because I'm fat and the beard adds to the weight, and hair on my face makes the hair that's receding on my temple look more receded. Perhaps I can reseed? You're a sissy if you shave after the month of growing it out.
  10. So, I just got back from the men's room. Here's my report: There's one of those privacy dividers between the two urinals. It's about shoulder high to about my knee. I suppose it's there not so much for privacy--you could look the other guy in the eye if you were so inclined--but to encourage shy bladders, so they get their asses back to their desks. That's my take. Nevertheless, I'm there, taking care of things, and the fellow next to me commences to shake after eliminating the heft of his water. Then, I feel a tap on my shoe. I peer down and see a shiny droplet of urine on my shoe--suede of course. I suspect given a slight pause, as though he were looking down and comprehending what happened, the other guy saw what'd happened. (5L to the first guy to make a "pissed off" joke.)
  11. What Aryte said... kinda. Just start doing this stuff and it'll build up and take off before too long. One thing that might help is if officers can post/submit shit for the calendar. Make a thread: "Wednesday, 12/2/09, Ordowide Training." Then outline a general wargame. One problem I ran into a couple times I tried to host/run some Ordo-wide fu was a general lack of interest. Probably, it was because at the time I was an O-1 in charge of an Alpha. So, there might've been some general "oh, this ain't for us" coming from most the personnel on base. Though a cursory reading of Coms and attention to Vent at the time would've dispelled that. Another instance, I suspect was that since it wasn't Aryte barking orders, people were a little less interested. (Aryte, did you know people are better behaved and more attentive when you're around? They are!) Aryte pisses charisma. Most of us have none to spare. But the mechanisms to make sure people participate in a serious manner in operations not led by Aryte exist, so we can use those to hold people to participating in a serious manner. If I could be around as much as I would like, I'd be pushing the heft of O-2 on you people and we'd be slaying one another for hours. Antesignani was in Rostok 2-3 nights a week. Invictus used it too. We owned that place.
  12. This always seemed reasonable. I think it was raised but shot down because of concerns about lag. I've seen boards in RP sims where they have a 'light' that lets you know if certain admins are online. Cadets would still have to IM a trainer, though.
  13. About this. Don't think for a second that anyone's too junior to recommend someone for something. Personally, I wouldn't care if you were E-1 and said "Sgt. Joe is great, a real go-getter." In fact, that might say more to me than the E-6 saying nice stuff about an E-3 or whatever. Furthermore, my present limited presence on Titan not withstanding, with higher rank comes more responsibility and hence more time spent buried in notecards and IMs. This has an odd effect of isolating an officer from being able to interact with the men simply. So, the way I look at it, I want my Warrants and NCOs telling me who is a badass and why. Simply put, they're closer to them. This isn't to shirk responsibility. It's to accept reality.

  15. What about an otter avatar? I'd go otter.
  16. Happy birthday. (They stop getting happy after a while.)
  17. Jeans qualify here. Sneakers too. I don't tuck my shirt in on days I don't feel like it. Today it's untucked. There are flipflops.
  18. Weimar Germany was one of the most highly and widely educated places the world has ever seen. Their children grew up to be Nazis.
  19. WTF, Dascede's back! If massive training is on the agenda, I'll type up some ideas and submit them via PMs. Also, gunships. Didn't we used to have those and call them Navis?
