The concept of how Keller became a land shark.

Slow day in study hall? -
Thank you all. Zerow will be an excellent CO. He's gonna make me look like a softy. Remember everyone, the Ordo and your experience therein is what you make of it. If you see something that you think is broken or could be better. Submit your ideas to fix it. We have forms for these things. I wrote them. Even if you're shot down, you get noticed for simply giving a shit. Eventually, something sticks. You see it come to life, and things here become yours.

My main concern is that it will be difficult at the officer level to judge who should get what and for what action.

The Negev looks great (though untextured). Keller is a god among fish.

Primary Structural Changes: Praetorian Guard – At a Glimpse
Gulliver Carpool replied to Aryte's topic in General Discussion
What Jayce said. Prereq's. Time served, Curia/Frumentarii vetting, letters of recommendation, admission essay, etc. I'm glad to see this happening. Even if it is as selective as it should be, opening it up to application at least removes weight to any accusations of nepotism and favoritism. -
Happy birthday. Don't break your kneecap.

Rice patties?

Could custom textures for the armor be developed that have a bit of damage on it. Insofar as this is RP and we're at least trying to look the part RP-wise in regular Ordo ops, I've often been kinda sad that I look like a new recruit despite my combat time. My knee pads would be scuffed up.

Happy Birthday.

The Shake Weight

Exactly! To what degree is that an official Ordo function? It did have Aryte's blessing. Would I be ejected from the RP group for RP'ing poorly? For RP'ing insubordination? For breaking "actual Ordo" regulations? There're concerns here within actual Ordo, within RP, within D13 RP. Would an eject from the RP group constitute you yourself turning your back on one of your Ordo brothers? Because he's a douche in RP?

FWIW, once I've begun a working relationship with someone, I don't really expect to be saluted and "sir" is just off the hook. But there are exceptions: If you're fresh outta Schola. If a cadet or new member is within chat range. If I don't know you. If I'm calling you to me in a formal manner/you are in trouble. Simply obeying orders to me is a sign enough of respect. Taking it up if it's a problem is respect enough. Servility kinda creeps me out.

It gives me misgivings because it raises a ton of questions for which there aren't clear-cut answers that would work for a professional, organized, disciplined military organization. What if someone RPs there not as an Ordo member? You'd run into a conflict of interest if they were passed up for promotion within the group: Was it because my character pwn'd yours? You can't prove or disprove such a thing. Same problem as why it's not a smart move to secks up your coworkers. Oh hey, we have a rule about that too. What of the regulation that Ordo is never off duty? My literal reading of that is that even if you're RP'ing a character, if you get into it with another member of an Ordo, it's an Ordo conflict. (I'm a strict constructionist when I read the Constitution too.) I'll probably come up with more what ifs, but I'm sure we'll continue to do this. But I get dibs on an I Told You So.

I worry about the ramifications of taking Ordo into RP. It is my experience in RP that it can easily become too personal. An Ordo member is an admin on an alt there. I'm sure he'll be even-handed, but at what point does one consider him disloyal to the Ordo if his character tells them to fuck off? What of telling the Mercz to fuck off, since I hear they're a bit knuckleheaded? I suppose there has to be some sorta RP story for Ordo to explain why we salute a wolf and have a terraformer and shit, but insofar as we require military discipline, that precluded us acting as a character other than ourselves. Else, the excuse quickly becomes ((LOL, Aryte, I'm not disobeying your order, my character is.)) At what point in a RP situation would an E-4 turn on Zrazor and shoot him because he didn't like the given order, because shit, the apocalypse is nigh anyway? Ordo gear has traditionally not been allowed for RP. At what point do we draw the line? Should a detachment of Invictus go to SWRP to take down the Mandalorians? (That could be a good fight!) If this is a chance to increase Ordo exposure elsewhere on the grid, even if we can eschew the above sorta problems, we cannot control for the near insane fanaticism some people take their RP and could then use that to damage the Ordo.

I'd like to point out the efforts and abilities of several people: Zerowinged Vaseline, XO of Antesignani. An excellent soldier through and through both on the battlefield dispensing enemies and off attending to administrative affairs and planning. I envy his experience. Melna Milos. Easily the paradigm for how an Ordo soldier should carry himself. Level-headed, earnest in work, and happy go lucky in that so much moves in fits in starts because this is a bureaucracy. Always available for training and work or just to spitball ideas around. Each week that passes at least someone mentions that Melna's gotten better from the week before in training or real combat. If there were a school in Ordo that taught TP'ing in a ton of people to take a base, Melna would take it. Tsume Xiao. In any problem Antesignani faces the technical components are immediately broken down, explained, and when possible there's a device or method to solve the problem by Tsume. He is my technical sargeant, and I love him. WolfJoya Furse. Kinda goofy and zany in a tamed way. I love that he can be 200m behind you and drop people that are 30m away from you before you even recognize they're an issue. Alexi Ayres and Genesis Ronmark. Two dudes that got dropped into an established group of people and managed not to make waves and got the whole group raving about their excellent abilities and mild manners. Vai Tyran. This guy pwns. We keep him around even though he can be a dick.

Yeah, desert or something. It's summer. It's hot. Aryte lives in a desert. We're gearing up for tank battles. Tanks work great in deserts. I've never understood why we don't have a uniform that blends in more. Greyish brown would suit many more situations than pristine black. Black's not really functional. Especially those damned skirts the officers and Praetorians wear. You'd cut that shit off as soon as the first bullet flew, lest you trip on that and get your ass shot off.

This thread needs more pictures. Also, perhaps you can submit this to thisiswhyyourefat.com -
I would like to see officers pulling people who chit chat too much into another vacant channel so they can continue to talk to themselves. I'd like to know how to move people from channel to channel.
