TenTen just wanted an excuse to run around out of uniform for a month, then he got bored and is back now. -
So, about them snow leopards.

Does your forum av represent what you're doing right now? :inlove:

Thought about this a bit, today. I might be able to knock the rust off my PHP and bang something out, or FireFox could look into it since he's already got a database up'n'going. Simple HTTP requests tossing every line of the meeting skyward and then formatting it into a report, later. Not too hard.

EXCUSE ME I DO BELIEVE YOU MISSED FIREFOX AND I'S AWESOME GOOD CONDUCT RECOMMENDATIONS, ARYTE

I want a Piplup hat. Give me yours, Zrazor. You're obviously just wasting it. -
[2009/08/22 17:59] Aryte Vesperia: All righty. Let's get to it. [2009/08/22 17:59] Aryte Vesperia: Phew, 40 people. That is small for us. [2009/08/22 17:59] Aryte Vesperia: Which is both good and bad, haha. [2009/08/22 17:59] Aryte Vesperia: I'll keep this meeting as short as possible. I'm still grumpy and sick. For those of you here: welcome, welcome! [2009/08/22 17:59] Aryte Vesperia: Let's get right to it. [2009/08/22 18:00] Aryte Vesperia: 262 members currently in the main group. [2009/08/22 18:00] Aryte Vesperia: 16 new applicants, 4 approved, 3 pending, 1 new. Remainded denied. [2009/08/22 18:01] Aryte Vesperia: 30 defensive operations-- phew, down a bit. You can really tell school is starting. 6 offensive operations, with a few new targets being visited. [2009/08/22 18:01] Aryte Vesperia: Activity has been relatively stable, but, as I've been mumbling about, the next couple weeks will definitely be slower. School starting always does this. It'll pick back up by mid September. [2009/08/22 18:02] Aryte Vesperia: Combat abroad's been awesome. RR is active again. Had a couple great battles with them. [2009/08/22 18:02] Aryte Vesperia: 2142 is back on the market as a group we visit. Good fighting there. Curious rule complaints, but fighting nonetheless. [2009/08/22 18:02] Aryte Vesperia: CS stable as always. [2009/08/22 18:02] Aryte Vesperia: CATI, lord, they've been attacking us every day for like 9 hours. They've redone their sims. We need to go visit. [2009/08/22 18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomacy, no major changes. The giant e-ego fight on NJWJ summarized goes something like "omgomgomg arerrr u banned us." [2009/08/22 18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports? [2009/08/22 18:04] Sosarin Demar raises his hand. [2009/08/22 18:04] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Demar, Astra. [2009/08/22 18:04] Sosarin Demar: This week saw some good action for Astra. Heather McKay hosted an inter-AD event with CS, testing out one of their planes. In addition, we had our sorties into 2142 and Thorium territory. Great work. Training as usual -- one pilot was moved through. On a personal note, college courses resume for me on Monday, so my time will be more limited once more. Anyway, I hope to see as much if not more air combat next week. That concludes this week's report for Astra. [2009/08/22 18:04] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [2009/08/22 18:04] Aryte Vesperia: Next? [2009/08/22 18:05] Lestat Umarov raises hand [2009/08/22 18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Umarov, Terra. [2009/08/22 18:05] Lestat Umarov: Lets see, slow week for Terra in general. Summers winding down and people are getting prepared for the up and coming school year. Combat deployments have been fairly regular as well as frequent hostiles attacking Titan. I expect to spend the next week or so helping some people settle into new roles as well as fill some current vacant positions. Going over the command responsibilities and making sure all of them happen is another goal. Now, onto unit reports. [2009/08/22 18:05] Lestat Umarov: From Keller for Invictus: "We've filled one of our vacancies, and would like to welcome Streak Bender back into Invictus. The squad's starting to pick up the pace once again, and several members took part in various raids with excellent results. The next week will hopefully be busy!" [2009/08/22 18:05] Lestat Umarov: From Gulliver for Antesignani: "Nothing new to report. Expecting delivery of the Negev build this week. Tsume should be able to script it, easily. Will deliver to him and Aryte and Lestat proposed specs. Will pester animator to animate it so it's epic. " [2009/08/22 18:06] Lestat Umarov: From Xayvien for Fulminata: "A combination of a slow and stressing week. We announced that two of our members had to be removed from the squad, only to depart from our current XO. People remaining in the squad have positive comments from what I have gotten, although it's not much. Hopefully within the next week we're going to have the three positions replaced with a new functioning XO. Aside from that, no real interesting things to report. Training is remaining on pause against my better interest at this time." [2009/08/22 18:06] Lestat Umarov: From myself for the Adiutor staff. "A lot of good news for the staff this week! The long awaited masks are nearing completion. I've spoken with keller and seen some of the uploaded sculpt maps and aniticipate their completion this weekend. The revolver which syris is working on is also moving along quite nicely I believe. Gear aside I've been focusing lately on bringing the squad and the terra command structure up to speed. I've been looking around for a replacement for the Cohors C liason and will be making a selection within the next week I believe. Just keep an ear open. I might give you a holler if I think you're right for the job!" [2009/08/22 18:06] Lestat Umarov: That concludes my report for Terra. Any additional reports may be given at the discretion of the imperator. [2009/08/22 18:06] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [2009/08/22 18:06] Vai Tyran raises hand, for Armatura. [2009/08/22 18:06] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Tyran, for Armatura. [2009/08/22 18:06] Vai Tyran: In these few days of Dascede's absense, I've taken the priveledge of being Armatura's temporary commandant. With help from several others, Armatura's currently undertaking a rewrite into a longer, more effective, and developed course, with an emphasis on the mechanics of SL fighting, regulations, and team/squad cooperation. That's all. [2009/08/22 18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [2009/08/22 18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Do any other units wish to report this evening? [2009/08/22 18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Sweet. This doth bode well for my laziness tonight. Moving on. [2009/08/22 18:08] Aryte Vesperia: Business, business. Hm, I have a few things to prod about. After which I'll open it to general session. [2009/08/22 18:08] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, I am going to rattle out a few important forum topics that need everyone's attention. Please give 'em a look. [2009/08/22 18:09] Aryte Vesperia: I. Unlock system. Mechanical portion is done. Now we need your input. Head over when you get the chance and put down your opinion in this thread: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/4448-unlock-system-what-counts/ [2009/08/22 18:10] Aryte Vesperia: II. Those of you following the Praetorian restructure, we're still hammering it down. A brief look/outline of what the major changes will be is availale. Please post your opinions-- preferably more than the current 12 "epic :o" comments: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/4434-primary-structural-changes-praetorian-guard-%E2%80%93-at-a-glimpse/ [2009/08/22 18:11] Aryte Vesperia: III. Terra octet leadership. We have a couple spots open that I'll be filling. The opportunity to apply will end tomorrow: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/4380-octet-leadership-position-open-15aug09/ [2009/08/22 18:12] Aryte Vesperia: And lastly, IV. Terra octet/century/cohors command responsibilites. Some orders have been passed down to the unit leads. For those of your curious who's actually doing their job, check this out: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/4424-terra-octet-and-century-level-accountability/ [2009/08/22 18:12] Aryte Vesperia: Questions, comments? [2009/08/22 18:13] Aryte Vesperia: . . okay! Yay. [2009/08/22 18:13] Aryte Vesperia: Next: calendar. Lot of folks are curious when things are scheduled. Raids, meetings, etc. [2009/08/22 18:14] Aryte Vesperia: All your answers and more can be found: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/calendar/ [2009/08/22 18:14] Aryte Vesperia: We update it weekly! [2009/08/22 18:14] Aryte Vesperia: If there is ever anything you'd like added, just let me know. :D [2009/08/22 18:15] Aryte Vesperia: Questions, comments? [2009/08/22 18:15] Seb Yakan: Can I add something? [2009/08/22 18:15] Aryte Vesperia: Definitely. [2009/08/22 18:16] Seb Yakan adds his birthday. [2009/08/22 18:16] Aryte Vesperia: . . [2009/08/22 18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Hahaha. [2009/08/22 18:16] Aryte Vesperia: OKAY. Moving on. [2009/08/22 18:16] Aryte Vesperia: The Ordo officer cadre is voting on two threads. Foremost, we've opened a poll on "whether to unblockade Vanguard." [2009/08/22 18:17] Aryte Vesperia: That one was more out of humor than anything. [2009/08/22 18:17] Aryte Vesperia: It's currently unanimous on keep VG blockaded. [2009/08/22 18:17] Aryte Vesperia: However! [2009/08/22 18:17] Aryte Vesperia: We're also voting on whether or not to resume combat with Chaos. Thaaat one has a bit more merit and conversation around it. [2009/08/22 18:17] Aryte Vesperia: If the Ordo officers ratify it, the poll will be passed down to the main forums for review. [2009/08/22 18:18] Aryte Vesperia: Chaos was originally banned long, long ago, due to the use of stolen Ordo gear and the likes. It's been quite a long time and the use of stolen gear is no longer a practice. So we figured it was worth reviewing. [2009/08/22 18:19] Aryte Vesperia: Questions, comments? [2009/08/22 18:19] Scientific Waffle raises hand [2009/08/22 18:19] Aryte Vesperia: Waffle! [2009/08/22 18:19] Cyphre Iredell raises a hand [2009/08/22 18:20] Scientific Waffle: If Chaos is unbanned, are we going to treat them politically like a regular military, or are we going to be less forgiving should they show any of their old behavior? [2009/08/22 18:21] Aryte Vesperia: Of course, we'll give them a bit of a short rope. [2009/08/22 18:21] Scientific Waffle: Thank you. [2009/08/22 18:22] Aryte Vesperia: Cyphre? [2009/08/22 18:22] Cyphre Iredell: Was there any other important faults to note from Chaos other than those obvious ones stated? And were there any individuals of note whom were a part of Chaos that were on the more absolute KOS list who may or may not longer be there to even deal with (such as known copybotters and griefers)? [2009/08/22 18:22] Aryte Vesperia: That'll have to be handled case by case. I am not currently aware if there is any niche in Chaos that is, well, could be termed as a griefer/botter. [2009/08/22 18:23] Aryte Vesperia: There was at one time a member who was a botter-- Dezno. [2009/08/22 18:23] Aryte Vesperia: He is no longer a member. [2009/08/22 18:23] Chase Quinnell: Dezno? [2009/08/22 18:23] Aryte Vesperia: Dezno Parx. Ulrick Umarov. [2009/08/22 18:23] Chase Quinnell: Noted. I recognise Dezno's name [2009/08/22 18:23] Chase Quinnell: from soemwhere [2009/08/22 18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Any other questions? [2009/08/22 18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Awesome. [2009/08/22 18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Opening up to general session: any topics or questions to bring up this evening? [2009/08/22 18:25] Desereck Creeggan raises his hand. [2009/08/22 18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Desereck. [2009/08/22 18:25] Joseph Hoxley raises his hand. [2009/08/22 18:26] Desereck Creeggan: Good news: I got a mic. Bad News: Some setting on Vista or with my year-and-a-half old mic is changing my pitch from normal to retardedly low. So I will not be speaking any more [2009/08/22 18:27] Aryte Vesperia: HAHAH [2009/08/22 18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [2009/08/22 18:27] Aryte Vesperia: Joseph? [2009/08/22 18:27] Joseph Hoxley: Just a Reminder. There was an Item passed out in the Main Group Notices that was titled " [Ordo] Database Checker .47 " that is used to update Firefoxinc.net/Ordo with the most current and up to date rank. After the Meeting, Can everyone Please drop this item to the ground and click it. Make sure to have your Main Group tag active or your Schola tag active. [2009/08/22 18:27] Joseph Hoxley: This will be a great helper to both myself and Firefox to make sure everyone's rank and merits are up to date as of the current meeting. Thank You! [2009/08/22 18:27] Joseph Hoxley: PS: If you don't have this Item in your Inventory, please look in the past Notices, the Notice is titled is called "Reminder" and was sent out 8/20/2009. [2009/08/22 18:28] Joseph Hoxley: That is all Imperator. [2009/08/22 18:28] Ethan Schuman raises his hand. [2009/08/22 18:28] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you! [2009/08/22 18:28] Aryte Vesperia: Schuman? [2009/08/22 18:29] Ethan Schuman: Five-seveN's just about done. Final bug testing is in Anly's hands. The left version should be out by Monday. It's important to note that the new pistol can be rezzed from the holster, so you never have an excuse for being unarmed again. [2009/08/22 18:29] Anlysia Gregoire: \o/ [2009/08/22 18:29] Ethan Schuman: Oh, and for all of you who remember the P99 debacle... [2009/08/22 18:29] Aryte Vesperia: Hahah. It's a great weapon. Thank you for scripting it, Ethan. I'm impressed with it. [2009/08/22 18:29] Anlysia Gregoire: I actually just broke it last night so it had to be reset. [2009/08/22 18:30] Ethan Schuman: ...the Five-seveN features both particle shell casing eject and blowback. =p [2009/08/22 18:30] Desereck Creeggan: . . . [2009/08/22 18:30] Karlhockey Forte: . . . [2009/08/22 18:30] Arken Soothsayer elipses [2009/08/22 18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Hahahaha. [2009/08/22 18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Any other topics or questions? [2009/08/22 18:31] Jayce Iredell raises a hand. [2009/08/22 18:31] Aryte Vesperia: Jayce. [2009/08/22 18:33] Jayce Iredell: A quick question for Ethan, when you say left, does that mean there will be a Right handed version? Also I gave Kraa a tactica notecard with a few suggestion on it I'd like to give you Imperator, and Gunau Emailed me the NCO Academy outline I am waiting on him to get things rolling.... [2009/08/22 18:33] Ethan Schuman: There will be a right handed version too. [2009/08/22 18:34] Ethan Schuman: That will come along later, when I can afford to pay Mark for the animations. [2009/08/22 18:34] Syris licks their own nose :D [2009/08/22 18:34] Zerowinged kisses Syris's nose. [2009/08/22 18:34] Jayce Iredell: Dualies? <3 j/k [2009/08/22 18:34] Ethan Schuman: Aryte said no. =( [2009/08/22 18:34] Aryte Vesperia: Ethan. Give me battle rifle and you'll be able to afford it, haha. [2009/08/22 18:34] Aryte Vesperia: All righty. [2009/08/22 18:34] Lestat kisses Syris's nose. [2009/08/22 18:34] Jayce Iredell: Hahaha. [2009/08/22 18:35] Syris Andel: ._. Sorry.... [2009/08/22 18:35] Aryte Vesperia: . . [2009/08/22 18:35] Aryte Vesperia: Next topic. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Yeees. First time in like 9 years we've finished keynote before 7. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia: This is a magical night. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia wipes away a tear. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia: MAGICAL. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Next topic. [2009/08/22 18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Promotions! [2009/08/22 18:37] Aryte Vesperia: Okay. Well then. Uhm, shortish list tonight. Which is great for me, as unlock points have not yet been moved to the new system. Pleeease read the forum in regards to it, so I can finish it this weekend. [2009/08/22 18:38] Aryte Vesperia: Most of the bump-ups are lower end, per the NCO academy being worked on, promotion system revision, etc, etc. You all know the drill. Regardless: always next week. [2009/08/22 18:38] Aryte Vesperia: After I finish list, hold your comments and applause. I have a closing statement. [2009/08/22 18:39] Aryte Vesperia: [if you see a lot of missing recommendations . . it's because you recommended things people already had, and I deleted it.] [2009/08/22 18:39] Aryte Vesperia: ATR Vasser - [E-2] [2009/08/22 18:39] Aryte Vesperia: Anlysia Gregorie - [Corona Obsidionalis] [2009/08/22 18:39] Aryte Vesperia: Arken Soothsayer - [E-2]; [Comrade Support]; [Combat Prowess Mk1]; [Homeland Defense]; [Marskman]; [Wtf! [2009/08/22 18:43] Aryte Vesperia: I appreciate you all coming to our extremely fast and unusually quiet meeting, haha. Combat this evening will be multiple-deployments. Simply stay on map if you care to participate. [2009/08/22 18:43] Aryte Vesperia: We'll begin deployments in about 30mins. [2009/08/22 18:43] Aryte Vesperia: I'll be handing out merits shortly. On that note. Thank you all. Much love. [2009/08/22 18:43] Aryte Vesperia clasps his fist to his chest, presenting a salute.

[IS] The Alliance Navy: A Legacy of Finery - 29JULY09
Anlysia Gregoire replied to Aryte's topic in General Discussion
It's really silly to think of breaking up the IS now, when we've demonstrated we have the capability to go to arms against each other and still in the end resolve it peacefully if need be. -
I do believe this is supposed to be THE DOLPHIN AV.
-
Fix't.
-
Awesome, Wolf.
-
Haha...the snow up where I live glares so bright in the daytime you can hardly see.
-
Anything from Mercury that pops on your HUD isn't on channel 1, it's an llOwnerSay, which is text sent from a script only to its' owner.
-
Easy way to fix the Titan sim-kicker is to relocate the default Titan sim telehub to somewhere in a corner and with no cover from the wall. IE, make a little "U" shaped piece of ground that covers it from Chronus, but faces the wall completely openly with no cover. No issue to an Ordo person approaching, of course, but if you're assaulting why would you go in there? Also, you could steal New Jessie's one-way prims from their spawns. Only out, no in.
-
The HUD uses a sensor that polls on a timer, if the sensor returns nothing it does nothing. But if there's anyone within range of you, it has to do a bunch of stuff...and the more people in range, the more it has to do (determine name, range, etc.), then it has to take all that stuff it just did and use an llSetText on the prim in the HUD that displays everyone within sensor of you. My assumption would be that it uses a loop, and the more people within range the more times it loops. Up to a limit, of course. Then there's the logic of determining who's within 20m to put that little separator bar in there, which is more...though not much. Ideally I'd tell people to use the Gemini/Emerald clients, which have a built-in radar that measures every single person on the sim, regardless of distance. (Sensors are limited to 96m, by design.) But Emerald was the victim of a built-in keylogger (yay open-source) and Gemini is supposedly built on Emerald (and also supposedly safe, but YMMV) so at this point I'd not recommend either. Perhaps we could ask Nexii to implement a similar built-in simwide radar into VL so we could use that.

Get rid of the Flash anim, replace with an embedded Litany.

Clarification: Unlocking Equivalents
Anlysia Gregoire replied to Aryte's topic in General Discussion
Regardless of an unlock-equivalency rule, there's still the "Don't use miniguns against attackers with pistols, for decency's sake" rule. Haha. -
Accept it'll be useless and leave it up for uselessness' sake, or disable it because it's useless. Either way it's useless, as this forum is a side-usage from our MAIN communication method. Reputation and the like is useful if the forum is the main method of communication, but we communicate mainly in SL and only put things here for posterity / record / wanting-to-show-lulzy-things-to-offline-people.
