Since it is Sunday, going ahead and making the new thread. Not much in terms of Navis, no new training to my knowledge, I have been busy moving. On the Navis forums we now have a roster giving various certification levels (Navis personnel: if it is wrong, tell me!). Also, Fleet has been renamed Departmento Classis, so that 1) it is Latin, and 2) matches Departmento Exterminatus. I have been speaking with various people on the orbital cannon project, which is still in the "lets get it in a notecard" stage, even though we have a full build. Our division is slowly growing, under great new management. Oh, and one last note...Cyrano is a goofball (Facelight 3000!?)!

My story begins in January 2006. I met a guy named Raye Carducci, he liked my AV, i sent him to Luskwood. 3 months later, he invites me to TCG. There I meet Dantee Eliot. When drama ensues and TCG dies in June, the three of us form a noob army called UPA. Dantee joins AN, and since he was in charge of external affairs, the group failed in that regard, and we never attacked anyone. Then Dantee joined Ordo, and I heard how cool they were. I wasn't sure, since they allied with the Merczateers, whom I fought in TCG. Then the MDF thing happened, and afterwords, I merged UPA into the NOI. After rising to the glorious rank of E-1, Ordo died. A few of us tried to restart it in NIL, but that failed; Dantee was elected leader, and then decided to go off and play BF2142 instead. yeah...Anywho, around April 2007 I joined the merczateers, along with Dantee. This is right after Crucifix, and right before the ordo mass-joining. I /almost/ went back to ordo right then, but I was on my way up, and Proteus wanted me to stay. After attaining the rank of O-3, the politics that run the group became too much, and I quit in November 2007. After being inactive, I rejoined Ordo April 2008, and here I am! (side note: april06-nov06, april07-nov07, april08-present; I am not planning this, but i see a trend.)

Navis Summary: Training of enlisted personnel has commenced, both josey Bingyi in Basic Training, and Gulliver Carpool in advanced training. The doors to the Navis dock have been fixed (finally) and fleetships may now park there more easily. The "orbital cannon" that some of you may have seen has been outfitted with attachement-based scripts provided by Phillip Hultcrantz, and Nexii will be scripting the flight engine properly, after Astra (and a break!). This craft will be used only for Departmento Exterminatus, to give a little more definition to the group. That is about it from our divisional standpoint. We are growing slowly, but under new management, this division is taking off! EDIT: I will be contacting Terra personnel this week with regards to planning joint training, i.e. HALO/HAHO and turret training. I mention the turrets because, lets face it, anyone can hop in, and there are never enough Navis online to fully man a Valkyrie. EDIT x2: Role deferred to Tsume.

From my undrstanding the Beta Grid and main grid are not linked, also if it is beta grid then they would probably fix it before launching. That is what JIRA is for, and that is the purpose of doing this, so that it gets fixed. As to the others, I am not sure of its reproduceability, but I got it in a notice from some scripting group saying something like "VOTE ON THIS IT KILLS ALL MOVING OBJECTS." I tend to take notice when someone sends a notice in all-caps.

Everyone seems to have great ideas for various courses that they would like to teach/be taught. Let me see if I can roll this into one big idea... We have one big group called an "academy" or something. Maybe even just a roll in Schola. Some set of requirements or approval would lead to people getting into this group/roll. Instructor X comes up with a great idea for a course. So that everything remains professional, he writes an outline and submits it for approval. Once it is approved, he is free to teach it at his leisure, provided he announces it properly (COM, forums, announcement, ventrilo, whatever). Finally, everyone does a big happy dance.

If I read it correctly, and from hearing from others... You fly a praeda, it disappears. You shoot bullets, they disappear. Random moving objects seem to disappear at random.

I think Terra and Navis make a good mix. We should train together. In theory you should be a launch platform and we need to train with you! Done, last night. 3 mixed division soldiers practiced being TPed in and jumping from an eternity, in rapid sucession. This was mostly focused on training the Navis pilot, though, not the soldiers. Also, we did not use parachutes, for simplicity (see previous sentence). Also, jumping from a moving ship is a BAD idea. As the ship is non-phys, it will move while you don't and you may fall out before you want to. We experienced this last night. Kind of a shame.

I LOVE THIS IDEA. I have actually been toying with the idea of cross-division training for a while, so this is right up that alley. Go for it, and I would love to help when I get back (soon!).
