  1. Sazuka, you cannot. Most of ordo already signed the DNR form.
  2. I LAUGHED MY ASS OFF. In the bathroom, on the toilet...making the other people in the house think I was crazy.
  3. That website uses the <blink> tag. This is a non-standard HTML tag, introduced by Netscape to seem flashy. Although goer.org lists this site as one of the only two sites on the entire internet that uses it properly, it is still proprietary technology, and is not supported by the W3C. Furthermore, it is a relic of the 90's. Because of the above argument, your entire point is moot.
  4. Any hostile that enters titan will induce TP lag for us. For them, luckily, they won't have to deal with rezzing lag. There will still be more lag than a single sim with spawn, as Williamca pointed out. Still, a major step forward, and something that I've been in support of for a while!
  5. GOD. I FEEL SO OLD. METALLICA WAS POPULAR WHEN I WAS BORN.
  6. I fail to see how this is an offline event, as it appears to be an entirely online phenomenon. MOVING TO OFF-TOPIC >:C
  7. He has always brought steadfast honor to the Imperium. He is loved by all, and will be missed greatly.
  8. Off topic, does not belong here. Moved to Off Topic. QUIT IT.
  9. It is generally the OIC's responsibility to delegate/decide who does the report, though.
  10. I yelled at a little kid today for running through a flock of seagulls resting on the beach. It shortens their life and upsets their migratory pattern, and stuff. Also, I don't warn others about sunscreen. I just point and laugh at the fat tourists who are pale white on one side, lobster red on the other.
  11. ~ORDO IMPERIALIS~ OFFICIAL DOCUMENT <=====================Extend to this length=========================> <===========================================================> **********Meeting Report********** NAME/RANK/DIVISION: Trevor Russell/E-6/Terra(Logged and cleaned by Garion Lowenhardt, and using his report format) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ DATE: The First Day of the Month of August, in the Year of Our Lord Imperator, Two Thousand and Nine ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUBJECT: General Topics ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SUMMARY: Ordo personnel gathered and discussed. ============================================================ CHAT LOG: Meeting Opener [17:59] Aryte Vesperia: All right. [17:59] Aryte Vesperia: Let's get started, everyone. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you all for coming. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia: Remember: keep it quiet, and this'll go smooth. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia: I will give you a chance to talk. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia: So don't interrupt me. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia stares. [18:00] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you all. [18:01] Aryte Vesperia: Let's get right to it. Imperator's Report [18:01] Aryte Vesperia: 257 members as of the moment-- yay! [18:01] Aryte Vesperia: 13 applications last week: 7 approved, 6 denied. [18:01] Aryte Vesperia: 10 new applications currently sitting on the server waiting for review. [18:01] Aryte Vesperia: I can hear Heather going "fffff!" [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: 26 defense operations this week. [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: 8 offensive operations. [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: A pretty solid, good week for combat. No real change from last week-- spare one curiosity: Geodan isn't visiting as much! [18:02] Aryte Vesperia: THANK YOU CHRONUS. Moving right along. [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomacy. All is well. No major changes. Looking to visit 39th and 2142 more often for combat. MBC seems to be picking up steam again, which is great. [18:03] Aryte Vesperia: Mm. CATI is busy as always. Hordes of Brazilians. [18:04] Aryte Vesperia: MC . . not sure, honestly. They seem to be up in the air, still. [18:04] Aryte Vesperia: Our brothers in the AN are still taking a hol dof their situation after losing Jason. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: I heard a lot of "whaaat?" on SL. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Er. Vent. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: So I'll clarify that point: [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: Jason Backer left Second Life last week. [18:05] Aryte Vesperia: He found it necessary to focus on real life concerns. It is sad to see him go, but after speaking to him extensively, I understand and wish him the best. [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: He will always be a brother to many of us. The AN will continue, even without Mr. Backer. Please see the forums for a copy of my letter to the AN: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/4124-is-the-alliance-navy-a-legacy-of-finery-29july09/ Divisional Reports [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Other than that, good times. Moving on to unit reports. [18:07] Aryte Vesperia: Volunteers? [18:07] Lestat Umarov raises hand [18:08] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Umarov. Terra. Terra [18:08] Lestat Umarov: It's been a good week for Terra as a whole. We have a few new members and combat has been fairly frequent. There's been some command changes with more planned shortly. Now, onto unit reports. [18:08] Lestat Umarov: From Keller for Invictus: "A comparatively slow week due to fully half of the squad being on some kind of leave or vacation, or just not having stable, healthy internet access. Work on optimizing 'rapid deployment' procedures goes along smoothly, and hopefully there's another oppurtunity to test them out in a real scenario." [18:08] Lestat Umarov: From Gulliver for Antesignani: "Several good moments this week. We unveiled Zerow's "Bullet Time" training exercise. That'll become a pillar of our training, and likely other unit's as well. Later that same night we did some artillery stuff in Rostok (forum report pending from someone who was actually there)." [18:08] Lestat Umarov: From Xayvien for Fulminata: "I promise to actually keep this one brief and so here is the report. I have returned from visiting family and active duty, meaning that I'll be taking over CO from Hokusai. At the time of this report I have not been informed of anything major happening, which to an extent is quite good. From what I have been told we have one remaining spot open in Fulminata for anyone interested at the rank of E-4 or above. You're free to send IM's to either me or my XO with questions of this." [18:09] Lestat Umarov: From myself for the Adiutors: "The planned roster changes are nearly completed. A position has been been abolished due to there simply being too many people in the squad for the ammount of work that is required. At one point the staff was the size of any of the other alpha squads but in recent months it has been refined to a point where it can be effecient with a minimal ammount of people. As I mentioned before the Cohors C liason position is open to enlisted personel. I will be continuing the search for prospective candidates and will contact you if I feel you're up to the task. In terms of gear the outlook is pretty good. The gasmasks are nearly completed(Seriously) and sculpt work has been started on the revolver thanks to Syris Andel." [18:09] Lestat Umarov: This concludes my report for this week. Any additional reports may be given at the discretion of the Imperator. [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you, Mr. Umarov. Astra [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: Astra? [18:10] Sosarin Demar raises his hand. [18:10] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Demar. [18:10] Sosarin Demar: This week was the veritable less-than-activeness on my part, so I didn't have much of a peep into the actual goings-on. I finished moving into the new crib. Anyway, after reading unit reports, it looks like combat participation has been adequate -- mostly ground operations. Some individuals are having some computer troubles. Training persists at a normal pace: some folks are close to being done. I hope to help see them through over the next few days. I'd also like to see Cyric Paine's Astra tournament get off its feet -- I'll be prodding ya! That concludes this week's report for Astra. [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Academies [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: Do any other units wish to report? [18:11] Agares Tretiak raises his hand. [18:11] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Tretiak. [18:12] Agares Tretiak: I've begun retraining ARtillery instructors, and reacclimating myself and them to the ins and outs of ARtillery work. [18:12] Agares Tretiak: Hopefully, the academy will be running mid august [18:13] Agares Tretiak: That's all. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: That's great to hear. I would implore you to work with Xayvien to finish the very-needed NCO academy. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. [18:13] Aryte Vesperia: Any other units? [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent. Old Business [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on to old business. [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: Is there any old business to re-touch on this evening? [18:14] Intus Infinity raises hand. [18:14] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Infinity, Departmento Webpago. [18:14] Intus Infinity: Website activity is still (past 4 weeks) on the decline. Current ordoimperialis.com website statistics for the week of 07-25-09 to 07-31-09: There was a total of 2,131 visits (11.78% were new visitors), 396 absolutely unique visitors, 17,438 page views, and the average time on website was 13 minutes, 33 seconds. For a more detailed analysis, please see PDF document: http://intus.ordoimperialis.com/wrd080109.pdf [18:15] Aryte Vesperia: What is the % difference? [18:15] Aelus Janus: The Canadians are up against the British. [18:15] Intus Infinity: -7.79% [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Interesting. [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: If you come up with a way to inspire forum use, give me a hollar. [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Any further old business? [18:16] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent. Keynote Topics [18:17] Aryte Vesperia: On to new business, then. I have a few topics to cover, after which we'll open up to general session. [18:17] Aryte Vesperia: A lot of the new folks have probably been generally staring at me with a blank “wut dis?” look, as I have been referencing some old projects during the weekly meetings. [18:17] Aryte Vesperia: I am going to take the time to expand and explain some of our major activities underway. First and foremost, let’s talk about region build. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: It has been . . uh, probably six or so month now that we have been murmuring about the possibility of finally advancing our region build. [18:18] Aryte Vesperia: This current set up of a desolate waste was intended to be very temporary. But, of course, life and the tendency to be set back on account pressing concerns made a temporary build a bit more permanent. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: It has always been my sort of hope to be able to have a city scape as our headquarters. We have been trying off and on for years. [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: . Finally, I do believe we will be seeing our region in the style of a gothic imperial city. [18:19] Agares Tretiak has a heart attack [18:19] Melna Milos: YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY [18:19] Aryte Vesperia: Shh. [18:20] Lunus Ferraris: Wewt XD [18:20] Melna Milos: YAAAYYYY [18:20] Lunus Ferraris: Woops sorry [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: Quiet down. [18:20] Intus Infinity: !! YES [18:20] Zerowinged Vasiliev: Yes. . . [18:20] Lunus Ferraris lobs a brick at Intus [18:20] Lunus Ferraris: Silence XD [18:20] Aryte Vesperia: I am not sure when it will be completed, but a significant portion has been put to work. The hope is to be able to simply place down a huge piece of it at once, sparing any time delay or lengthy sim closure. No, I won't tell you who is working on it, and if you know, don't you dare bug him. [18:20] Keystone Gray raises a hand. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: What you can all expect from this is a dynamic combat zone, with high grade building and diverse, high quality low-resolution/low-lag textures. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: Story wise, we will be writing a brief blurb in response to our transition from wastelands to city: in short, our crusade across the barren deserts and ice tundra has ended with the capturing of a major city. Haha. [18:21] Aryte Vesperia: Keystone? [18:21] Keystone Gray: If it is as dark, desolate, and undecorated as this current base, I am going to be an angry ball of fluffy black fury. [18:21] Keystone Gray: Also known as: >:| [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: It will be regal and inspiring. [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: I'll give you a sneak peek. [18:22] Desereck Creeggan raises a hand. [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: Desereck? [18:22] Desereck Creeggan: 1) Is the sim build at like 2k m still going on? [18:22] Aryte Vesperia: No. [18:23] Intus Infinity raises hand. [18:23] Desereck Creeggan: 2) I agree with Keystone, if its all black and bland I will cry ;-; [18:23] Aryte Vesperia: Reference my above comment, then. [18:23] Aryte Vesperia: Intus. [18:23] Xayvien Rau raises hand. [18:23] Intus Infinity: Will Niiya be cleaning up her sim build? [18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Yes. [18:24] Aryte Vesperia: Xayvien? [18:24] Xayvien Rau: On a scale from 1 to 10...One being Punk, 5 being Victorian, and 10 being Diablos. How Gothic? [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Think Warhammer. [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Imperial Gothic. Archways, masonry, neo-Roman. [18:25] Xayvien Rau: Alright. [18:25] Agares Tretiak: Hive city-ish [18:25] Aryte Vesperia: Any last questions on that topic? [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: Cool beans. Next. [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: . Second up, I have been murmuring about an ‘unlock’ revamp during every comment session before promotions. So let me touch on that! [18:26] Aryte Vesperia: Unlocks indeed are being changed. Currently the unlock system promotes two habits that I don’t like: 1. necessary to promote for an unlock, 2. lack of reward for other actions. [18:27] Aryte Vesperia: For months, we have been working on the ideology and the technical side of a new unlock system. Xayvien Rau developed the underlying idea: a system based upon time contribution and overall picture, rather than promotions alone. [18:28] Aryte Vesperia: The system will work like so: an individual will receive “points” (not unlocks) for certain behaviors—for example, performance in combat, or serving me coffee appropriately. Any situation will have a graduated scale, like: [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: Performed Excellently in Combat – 20 pts Performed Well in Combat – 10 pts Performed Adequately in Combat – 5 pts Performed Poorly in Combat – 0pts [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: Points will be totaled up over time, with thresholds reaching the access to an unlock point. [18:29] Snowean Avro raises hand [18:29] Zrazor Rozenstrauch raises paw. [18:29] Aryte Vesperia: When an unlock is earned, it will be automatically added to the server for an individual to spend. He or she can then go to the armory and just grab whatever. This will remove the need for “omg I need E-3 so I can pew pew,” allowing for ranks to reflect the desire for responsibility, rather than a desire for gear. [18:30] Lunus Ferraris raises a paw [18:30] Aryte Vesperia: Currently the system is nearly complete. I have said that like ten times, but it is seriously about 98% done. Right now Inoue is wrapping up the vendor systems. After that, it is simple as plugging the items in and getting the forms out. So yay. [18:30] Aryte Vesperia: Snowean. [18:31] Snowean Avro: Sir not to point something out and not to undermind Xayviens hard work.... But this system... is nearly a complete mirror... of the Mercz's prestige system... [18:31] Agares Tretiak raises his hand. [18:31] Aryte Vesperia: I'll let Xayvien answer that. [18:32] Lestat Umarov: Or not... >.>; [18:32] Snowean Avro: But yes sir not to be a downer i just wished to point out what i am seeing in our new system [18:33] Aryte Vesperia: Considering you haven't read the thirty page write up he issued, I'd caution not to judge by face value. One could say the Mercz are copying most major MMORPGs. But again, letting Xayvien reply. [18:33] Xayvien Rau: I worked for the Mercz' a long while and their system was based loosely on...Well, it's not as detailed as the one I developed. I was inspired in design with mine, but their system would be condensed to one notecard of details. With numerous things that require to be done behind the scenes, as compared to a simple checklist and Grunt-Tokens from the Mercz'. [18:34] Xayvien Rau: And they are also heavily game based. Much like we are in a lot of aspects. [18:34] Xayvien Rau: My head hurts and I don't know if that made sense. [18:34] Snowean Avro: Ya sorry then Xayvien... Its just what i was seeing and what Aryte was explaining it as... it actually looking like the mercz system [18:35] Lunus Ferraris raises a paw [18:35] Snowean Avro: thats all i have o say sir [18:35] Aryte Vesperia: It works. Thank you Xayvien. [18:35] Aryte Vesperia: Zrazor? [18:35] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: Have you considered applying different point values to different kinds of weapons, instead of simply gaining an unlock point once a certain number of points are gained? [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Yep. [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: There are. :D [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: It'll work like so . . [18:36] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: i.e. The SMG pack costs fewer points than the Minigun pack? [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Tiers of unlocks, basically. [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: At the first threshold you get a "basic" point. [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Which can be applied toward lighter gear. [18:36] Keller Teichmann raises his hand. c.c [18:36] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: Cool. :D [18:36] Aryte Vesperia: After that, each threshold gives you a more . . unique option? [18:37] Aryte Vesperia: Like an explosive b ased weapon. [18:37] Aryte Vesperia: The nice part is, as we create more crap, we can simply throw it into the tier or add another threshold. [18:37] Aryte Vesperia: As Xayvien mentioned: think mastery points on Warhammer. [18:37] Aryte Vesperia: You can't go grab a Pilum with your first point, you have to work up to it. [18:38] Aryte Vesperia: The server does it all, so it takes very little management on our part. [18:38] Desereck Creeggan raises hand. [18:38] Aryte Vesperia: Lestat? [18:38] Aryte Vesperia: No more questions after Desereck. Possibly more, waiting to see how long these ones take. [18:39] Aryte Vesperia: Oops. [18:39] Aryte Vesperia: I meant Lunus. Not Lestat. [18:39] Lunus Ferraris: Heheh :) [18:39] Lunus Ferraris: We all make mistakes Imperator :) [18:39] Melna Milos: I don't. [18:40] Lunus Ferraris: ..... [18:40] Lunus Ferraris: Anywho [18:40] Lunus Ferraris: I wanted to ask, have we gotten any new weapons? Thought I heard something about it [18:41] Aryte Vesperia: Not relevant to the topic. Browse the armory or bug someone after! [18:41] Aryte Vesperia: Agares. [18:42] Agares Tretiak: Will this system have various means to attain them? I.E. passing an academy course, etc? [18:42] Agares Tretiak: Points, I mean. [18:42] Aryte Vesperia: Mm, points could be attached to academy completions, yes. [18:42] Aryte Vesperia: Basically using this to reward people for good behaviours, rather than throwing ranks at them [18:42] Aryte Vesperia: . [18:43] Agares Tretiak nods. [18:43] Agares Tretiak: Thank you, my lord. [18:43] Aryte Vesperia: So in theory, someone who's an E-1 who has no interest in command responsibility . . can sit back and just be an E-1 with every gun he wants. [18:43] Aryte Vesperia: This will work in tandem with the promotion requirement system in work. [18:43] Agares Tretiak: If he works for them. [18:43] Aryte Vesperia: Right. [18:44] Aryte Vesperia: Fishstick? [18:44] Keller Teichmann: I'm hooman right now, thank you very much >:c [18:44] Aryte Vesperia: Disgused Fishstick? [18:44] Keystone Gray: GENTLEMEN. >:| [18:44] Keller Teichmann: Wondering if the new system will give people more oppurtunities to build weapons and the like. c.c [18:44] Aryte Vesperia: Oh definitely. [18:44] Keller Teichmann also conveniently legs out. [18:45] Aryte Vesperia: The armory is going to turn into a bazaar. Lol. [18:45] Xayvien Rau: What are ya' buyin'? [18:45] Keystone Gray looks at his broken, tired builder's hands. [18:45] Aryte Vesperia: I'LL BUY IT AT A HIGH PRICE. Right. [18:45] Keystone Gray: ... :( [18:45] Aryte Vesperia: Desereck? [18:45] Desereck Creeggan: A couple things, one, What if someone has.. well everything but one thing lets say for example a heavy weapon like the adjudicator and this new system is implemented would they be able to get the adjudicator based on nothing else to spend the unlock point or have to wait until the next tier? Two, what about officers or the equivalent who have full access to unlockable technology, will the handbook be changed to accomodate this, or will it stay the same? [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: Nope. If you already have the item, you'll just be able to spend it on something else. [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: Officers . . well. [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: I haven't figured out if I want to force them to slave labor for gear yet. [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: I likely will keep it as it is. [18:46] Desereck Creeggan: I was more looking at the automated part of it, since you said the tiers would be regulated by the server. [18:46] Aryte Vesperia: I would rather officers focus on administration, than running around mining the proverbial experience points. [18:47] Aryte Vesperia: Ahh. [18:47] Aryte Vesperia: Everyone will start at tier 1. [18:47] Aryte Vesperia: If for some reason you magically have all the tier-1 items. . no worries. [18:47] Aryte Vesperia: The point will simply be saved on the server until a new t1 item is available to grab. [18:47] Desereck Creeggan: Oh and I forgot, will we be able to see our "points" as they accumulate? [18:48] Aryte Vesperia: Mmmm. [18:48] Aryte Vesperia: Probably could be arranged. [18:48] Aryte Vesperia: Otherwise every officer will be able to check on Mercury. [18:48] Desereck Creeggan: That is all from me then, thank you :D [18:48] Agares Tretiak: Why not via staff database? [18:48] Aryte Vesperia: Your names now have like a billion menus. Activity, unlocks, etc, etc. [18:48] Hokusai Otsuka raises hand on the same subject as Des. [18:48] Aryte Vesperia: It's run by Mercury, Agares. [18:48] Cyphre Iredell: Just need something to echo info in-world for points. [18:48] Agares Tretiak: Oh. [18:48] Agares Tretiak: >_> [18:49] Aryte Vesperia: Could probably be done. [18:49] Aryte Vesperia: Hokusai, go ahead. [18:49] Hokusai Otsuka: If the new utility hud is linked to mercury. Maybe we can have a server button simular to the OLD hud, that displays our teir/points/unlocks acheved ect? [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: Thaaat could probably be done. [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: Good idea. [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: I'll run it by Syl. [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: She'll probably stab me. [18:50] Hokusai Otsuka: >_>; [18:50] Aryte Vesperia: I'll take ONE more question about unlocks. [18:50] Desereck Creeggan: Might be an extra bit of lag we dont want though? [18:50] Desereck Creeggan: (sorry) [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: (It'd be a simple information fetch, not a lot of lag.) [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: I'll answer Foxers, since he IM'd me. [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: [2009/08/01 18:48] Foxers Fhang: Will you be in charge of giving the points? [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: Yes and no. [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: I will be involved in assigning points on Mercury. [18:51] ShadowFang Blessed raises a hand [18:51] Aryte Vesperia: Because I am a global admin. [18:51] Foxers Fhang: and god. [18:52] Aryte Vesperia: But the actual "experience" points will be handled by other folks. [18:52] Foxers Fhang: ahh [18:52] Aryte Vesperia: Last question. Shadow. [18:52] ShadowFang Blessed: once we get this new unlock system, and if im not e-7 by the time it comes out, will i finally be able to get things? or do i get to stand around without cool stuff like the cool kids? [18:52] ShadowFang Blessed: :o [18:53] ShadowFang Blessed: if this is a stupic question, im half awake sorry. [18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Rank will no longer equal an unlock, so yeah, you and everyone else will be able to get items by participating. [18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Good questions. [18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. [18:53] Aryte Vesperia: Next up. Dress attire. [18:53] Aryte Vesperia: I mentioned to the officers a couple weeks ago that I placed a commission with a highly talented clothing maker. [18:54] Aryte Vesperia: He will be redoing our dress uniforms and creating some new BDUs. Lucky for us, said individual is currently in need for money. Soooo he is nearly done with the dress uniform and expects to be ready by the 3rd. [18:54] Aelus Janus: Yesss. [18:54] Seb Yakan: <3 [18:54] Aryte Vesperia: The new attire will replace all current dress uniforms and include a female version with a skirt. [18:55] Aryte Vesperia: It will be in the style of: [18:55] Aryte Vesperia: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3d/Bologna.01.jpg [18:55] Jayce Iredell: We're wearing processed meat? [18:55] Seb Yakan raises his hand. [18:55] Aryte Vesperia: I am ejecting the next individual to speak out of turn. [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: I will give Xayvien the benefit of the doubt. [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: Disembodied Hand is the gentleman handling it. Check out his store sometime. [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: Seb? [18:56] Seb Yakan: So, can I wear the skirt :D? [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: No. [18:56] Seb Yakan: :< [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: Males will be required to wear gender appropriate attire. [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: I don't care what you do on the weekend. [18:56] Garion Lowenhardt raises his hand. [18:56] Aryte Vesperia: But in the Ordo, you will dress professionally. [18:57] Aryte Vesperia: If you want to wear a skirt. Shape>female. [18:57] Aryte Vesperia: Garion? [18:57] Vai Tyran raises hand. [18:57] Blaze Wiles raises hand [18:58] Garion Lowenhardt: I'm assuming there will still be the color difference to distinguish Enlisted from Officers? Also, good call sir. [18:58] Aryte Vesperia: It will likely be universal. [18:58] Zerowinged Vasiliev raises hand. [18:58] Aryte Vesperia: Officers will wear shoulder cords. [18:58] Garion Lowenhardt: Ah, nice. [18:59] Aryte Vesperia: By shape>female I mean you must literally be female. Don't be dumb. [18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Vai. [18:59] Vai Tyran: You answered it. [18:59] Zerowinged Vasiliev lowers hand [18:59] Aryte Vesperia: :) [18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Any other questions? [18:59] Blaze Wiles raised hand? [18:59] Aryte Vesperia: Oops. [19:00] Aryte Vesperia: Blaze. [19:01] Blaze Wiles: this might be a dumb question but the BDUs will they be ready at the same time? [19:01] Aryte Vesperia: Week or so later! [19:02] Aryte Vesperia: BDUs: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9a/Firenze.Carabinieri01.JPG [19:03] Blaze Wiles: one more question sir? [19:03] Aryte Vesperia: Go for it. [19:03] Blaze Wiles: will we be able to wear the BDUs as an alternative to the body armour? [19:05] Aryte Vesperia: Mm, they will be replacing the Schola attire primarily. In addition, undersuit use. Otherwise it'll likely be allowed for downtime-general work wear. [19:05] Aryte Vesperia: Does that answer you? [19:06] Blaze Wiles: yes Sir, Thank you [19:06] Seb Yakan: I have another question, if you don't mind. [19:06] Aryte Vesperia: Seeeeb. [19:06] Seb Yakan: Will there be any new regulations with the new dress uniform? Like, do you mind if we wear it outside of formal meetings and what not? [19:07] Aryte Vesperia: Nope, standard regulations. I don't mind if people sport them. [19:07] Aryte Vesperia: I wear mine 90% of the time. [19:07] Seb Yakan: Thank you. [19:07] Aryte Vesperia: Welcome. [19:07] Aryte Vesperia: Next topic. [19:08] Aryte Vesperia: . Starting tomorrow morning and until the 8th, I will be more scarce than usual. I will be busy offline, on account of my girlfriend coming over for a visit. She won’t be very amused with me if I hop online, but I will have opportunities when she is sleeping and spending my money. [19:08] Aryte Vesperia: As such, I will maintain effective overall command and still will oversee the basic functions of the group. There will still be a meeting next Saturday, on the 8th. [19:09] Aryte Vesperia: Also, raids will still be conducted—simply I can’t promise a schedule. Look forward to more morning and late day sort of battles, since that’ll be when I have time. Contact wise: same as usual, message me whenever. I will have my phone on hand. [19:09] Aryte Vesperia: . Next, some comments on general progress here. I am pleased, to say in the least. Group growth has been really high, both numerically, structurally, and materials wise. Thank you all to everyone who has been contributing. [19:10] Aryte Vesperia: Also, welcome, welcome everyone new here with us. It’s a pleasure to have you all along for the exciting ride of “yay SL!” We have had a wonderful summer thus far and I have no doubt we will continue to. [19:10] Aryte Vesperia: I wanted to briefly comment on a lot of ongoing projects—I haven’t forgotten! There’s a lot on my plate still. The NCO academy oversight, offensive authorizations, etc, etc. [19:11] Agares Tretiak: <_< Already started looking over those materials, my lord. (NCO Academy) [19:11] Aryte Vesperia: Aaand lastly. I want to remind everyone: please do not think that "Aryte is gone, time to misbehave" is in anyway a smart idea. Please mind your behavior, when I am here, and when I am not here. Your conduct is being monitored heavily, on account of heightened concern to ensure that the group size does not become a detriment to our quality. [19:13] Aryte Vesperia: Curia has been expanded. Please, if there's a problem, report it. Otherwise, redouble your efforts on being respectful and minding yourself. [19:13] Aryte Vesperia: Especially on Ventrilo. [19:13] Aryte Vesperia: Verbal conduct and topic control: going to start holding my word when it comes to laying down the banhammer on Ventrilo accounts. [19:14] Aryte Vesperia: Forums: if you ask a question that's /on/ the forums, don't be surprised if you just get linked. Please, read the forums. It takes me 30~ minutes a day to keep on top of all the posts. [19:14] Aryte Vesperia: If I can do it, you can do it. [19:14] Aryte Vesperia: Make me proud. [19:14] Aryte Vesperia: I'll take open topics at this time-- no more than two, likely. [19:15] Aryte Vesperia: Nothin'? Promotions [19:15] Aryte Vesperia: Perfect. On to promotions. [19:15] Aryte Vesperia: I have a decent sized list this evening. For those of you new to how we handle this: [19:16] Aryte Vesperia: Promotions are heavily based on recommendations, so recommend your comrades for their feats within the group. Otherwise, on occassion, I and other officers will step in and do a wide-spread wave of promotionary assignments to reflect our image of how people are performing. [19:17] Aryte Vesperia: There is never room to q.q about not being promoted. Because you'll probably just be promoted next week, ha ha. [19:17] Aryte Vesperia: Keep in mind we do follow a strict minimum time requirement, in addition to observing a big question beyond E-3. "What have they done for the betterment of the group?" Progressive action = demonstration of ability = promotion. [19:17] Aryte Vesperia: You do not simply receive elevation for sitting on your hands. [19:18] Aryte Vesperia: Hold applause and such until I have my final words after promotions! 15. In hind sight it would've been badass if some crazy guy ran out into the water and started to drown, just so I could go save him, and have an even more epic story to tell. Apparently there was also another tornado that touched down south of me, a guard told me about it (and heard about it on the news) which picked up an unmanned catamaran sitting on the beach and tossed it across the beach, severely damaging it. Combine that with multiple waterspouts sighted during the storm...yeah. Oh, and another tornado ripped through a mobile home park on the southern side of the county. All funnels aside, by 7 PM, that storm was averaging 3000 lightning strikes per hour at its peak. And another waterspout destroyed part of the pier in the next county north, just yesterday. And waterspouts were spotted 4 hours away today, in Tampa Bay. Seriously, what the fuck. We NEVER get this kind of storm activity

  17. This image was taken by my zone supervisor, Captain Scott Dowling of Volusia County Beach Patrol, Ormond Zone. I personally was not in a position to take pictures, as I was yelling for people to move away from the water and seek shelter. This waterspout was to the north of me, between Neptune Ave. and Granada Ave. I was stationed at Granada Ave, as the beach lifeguard in the area. This waterspout did pick up and set down on the beach briefly, roughly 250-400 yards to the north of me, moving south at a slow pace. By this point I was out of my car, ordering people to seek shelter. We must have had a large influx of foreign tourists, because few of them seemed to listen, as they all wanted to take pictures. Eventually a police officer arrived and was able to assist me in getting people off to the ramp. I was watching, and if at any time it became obvious that I was in danger, I was prepared to run into the concrete bathroom at moment's notice. All in all, just another day on the beach. I love my job.
