  1. Honestly. Return them both and Just put in a ramp of prims, That's fine with me. Just some way to get out that doesn't require you to have anything on (jetpack, grapple hook) and can take you to the build zone exit.

Good enough for me. I'd prefer a single prim ramp/ladder/non-phys elevator that you step on and it moves you up.

  2. Do we really need elevators in the build zone? I thought we were concerned about objects having scripts in the sim and also the number of prims available for the new sim build. This uses both of those resources. We already have plenty of means to get up to the top via jet pack and grappling hook, and there's also the teleporter at the base of the room to go to other areas.

  3. Not even kidding. Stuff like:

    [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0swR2fBtRA&

    Just depends on the mood.

Holy shit, you found Proteus' asian brother.

In all seriousness this thread has actually found me quite a few new songs to listen to :D.

Here are some of my own preferred artists:

Tool, A Perfect Circle, Metallica, Megadeth, Apocalyptica, Rammstein, Prodigy, Boys Noize, a small amount of dubstep and electronica artists, Justice, Muse, some classical. Really I listen to all kinds of genres. I tend not to listen to music during combat so much though so that I can hear comms clearly, and it actually kind of distracts me a little.

  4. [12:45] Ron Bleac: Yo

[12:45] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: Hi Ron :D

[12:45] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: I just realized

[12:45] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: I was about to say "I got a haircut! :D" and then I looked at my avatar.

[12:46] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: And realized that one could construe that statement as rather ironic.

[12:46] Ron Bleac: Yeah. Yeah, I see that.

[12:47] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: Would you be a sport and share a chortle with me if I say it? :3

[12:47] Ron Bleac: Chortle? What's a chortle? Is that like, a manly chuckle with lots of bubbly noises?

[12:48] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: The definition is "an utterance between a chuckle and a snort." Coined by whatever the fuck guy wrote Alice in Wonderland, oblivious to the knowledge that his works would one day be generic goth/stoner imagery.

    [12:49] Ron Bleac: Ahh.

[12:49] Ron Bleac: Yes, I'll share a chortle.

    [12:49] Ron Bleac: I'll be a sport.

    [12:49] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: Splendid! :D

    [12:49] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: I got a haircut :3

    [12:49] Zrazor Rozenstrauch chortles.

    [12:49] Ron Bleac chortles.

[12:50] Zrazor Rozenstrauch adjusts monocle. "Very good then."

[12:50] Zrazor Rozenstrauch: No seriously, I got a haircut. I look fly as hell.

    That quote makes me chortle.

  5. Sorry I didn't put much information in, I was on my way to bed at the time. But yes as everyone has said nexii rebuilt it himself. He was tweaking it during my breif stay in mercz however it doesn't have the mass tp function anymore I've played around with it a little bit but I still prefer emerald for the radar,

He removed mass tp, wireframe, and the ability to disable prims to deter cheating. In the Merczateers mass teleporting is banned, as well as gesture based teleporting, wireframing in any way, etc. Show look at is frowned upon as well.

Any way, I use combat cubed for combat for those reasons in a way, since then people can't claim you wireframe, but also because I lag a lot less on it. So much so that I couldn't even fight on emerald, but I can on combat cubed. I use emerald for regular usage since it does have tons of features I do like and use, but the lag that I get on it isn't as much of an issue.

  6. [18:08] Aduro Darkthief: shut up aero

[18:08] Aduro Darkthief: thank u joseph

[18:05] Aduro Darkthief: u dont have to be an asshole about it

    [18:05] Aero Silverblade: :|

Those parts made me laugh so hard. It almost feels like Aduro was trying to troll just how he goes "Shut up, person 1. Thank you, person 2."

  7. I remember someone getting banned for using VL because it's unregistered.

I doubt it, unless by VL you mean the crappy copybotting client that DID get blocked from SL. Not vertical life.

The only reason vertical life wasn't verified as a third party client was because you can't have "life" in the name of the client for trademark reasons.

  8. Here is a link for those of you who don't trust Jester's link, it goes to the same place though:

    http://merczateers.net/_downloads/

Nexii made it a long time ago, but Nexii doesn't really work on his clients much any more. He is much too busy with everything he is working on for the Merczateers (which really is a huge amount of work) that he doesn't have time, especially since he likes working on weapons and the like more because of how people actually thank him for them, rather than a client where no one really recognizes him at all and where there are clients such as Emerald in existance with a development teams that get thousands of dollars in donations, or even Kirsten's client where he (kirsten) receives all the donations himself.

    • And what is it?
    • Secondlife client built with extra features tailored for SL combat. These include hitbox and collision skeleton coloring and rendering based upon minimap colors. Mass minimap coloring for friendly, foe, and neutral personnel. Extra bits for the control event for the R, Q, 1, 2, 3, and 4 keys among others (you'll have to ask him for the specific bits, as I don't recall). Built in clientside raycasting using the client API. Thats all the major stuff I can think of, though I am probably missing something. It lags a lot less than emerald and crashes a lot less, except on teleporting. I use C^3 for combat and Emerald for content creation and regular use.

    • Who rebuilt it?
    • Nexii Malthus, Merczateer Head of R&D.

    • Is it safe?
    • Yes.

  9. You guys are making this way too complicated. A simple HUD that checks to see whether you're in a valid allied group, and if not sets you to hostile, with a local chat channel listener for whatever capture points or generator that communicates with that HUD is all you really need. We could get this added to our existing hud, along with something available in the IS spawn area, and another one in the teleport hub for visitors to wear if they wish to participate in the objectives.

Hell something that simple is easy to expand on with the database integration that I mentioned earlier, and the simple use of it now would be a base system to further implement and add features to when considering Chronus and the future Titan build.

Even that is a bit more complicated than you think it is. I don't understand though why we need this system? Can't you just allow them to run up and attempt to do the objectives, and when they begin to do so it alerts us. If an ordo member or an ally accidentally clicks it you just tell them to move away and it stops.

  10. Make the objectives work on the same principle that the Mercz flags do. Have one group set for the defenders, then any other group tag it encounters it recognizes as hostile and works in their favor.

The Mercz flags use a set of scripted one-prim boxes for auth. The flags go llRegionSay(channel,(string)llDetectedKey);. The boxes are all set to various authorized groups, one box is set to land management, one to IS, and so on. The boxes then basically go

    listen(integer channel, string name, key id, string message){ if(llSameGroup(message){llRegionSay(channel,"LOLITWORKED");}}

That is the basic system. If you did exactly that with multiple flags then all the flags would cap at once, so its a tiny bit more complicated than that.
