Ethan Schuman
I mentioned it at the meeting, so here's the formal thread.I'm looking for suggestions/submissions for a new Navis uniform. Submissions can be in the form of simple text descriptions, sketches, screenshots of in world builds, or just about anything that allows you to describe your idea. While I'm not going to post guidelines because I don't want to limit creativity, I will suggest that futuristic looking designs and things low in prims are a plus. All submissions will be judged by a panel from Navis, with the winning design submitted to the Imperator for final approval. As a little bit of incentive, the creator of the winning design will receive their choice of one weapon from the new Navis armory lineup, scripted to auth for their specific group.Attach all submission candidates to this thread. Contest ends January 15th.

RazorFox
Of course a direct copy of this would be dumb, but it can't hurt to draw attention to these for inspiration's sake.Jaunty as fuck, and appropriate for spaceship crews, right? Anlysia Gregoire
Personally I'd want to stay as far away from stealing anything from Star Wars uniforms as we could.
Agares Tretiak
Agreed. As far as dress uniforms, that will be standard across all Ordo branches as I understand it. So what you will looking at is your combat uniforms, which should vaguely resemble what everyone else is using.

Dagger Exonar
If only one branch of 7-10 active people has the only sculpty armor in the entire army, especially when they only have one ship(?) I can easily see problems coming from that. The light armor is perfect for what it does, fill the description and requirements for those in tight enclosed spaces on board their vehicles. If anything, you should just stick to minor details to seperate yourself from Astra.Like, Astra has wings above their merits. Why doesn't Navis have a whale with butterfly wings above their merits? Before this gets mis-read and deleted for a variety of reasons I'd like to present my own take on things, if you'd like to maintain combat armor for when Navis isn't in their ships or some sort of "in between" version of Terra. (Ie, Armored, but not super-armored.)I present to you to the concept art designs from AT-43 (Drawn by Karl Kopinski, the warhammer 40k artist guy so it somewhat fits in the style/theme of 40k while still being different enough.)Why? Because you have to think of this design in SL-terms and the style of the Ordo thus far.Benefits of the style include the fact it has a neckpiece like Medium and Heavy armor, and on top of that it simply is a plate on the front and back with shoulders. That's it. Light armor, yet still very combat effective (in SL terms) while maintaining a unique yet similiar feel to the rest of the Ordo. All you'd really need to do is change the coloring, smooth it out in a few places, and it's all set. Navis really doesn't need gloves/boots/helmets because furries rarely wear helmets, the Ordo has plenty of wrist equipment available (as well as Boots, and I can easily forsee Keno releasing Das Boots for Navis use, which this armor fits well with) and in all honesty I view "Light" armor to mean "Vital protection only with plenty of room to move" ie, the arms are fairly unarmored (Like the current light armor) as is the legs (again, like the current light armor) Throw in one of Navis' "Because we're on the ground sometimes" guns and you've got an effective ground trooper. One of the main reasons I even think this would make a good Navis armor is simply because it makes little/no sense for Astra personnel to ever wear it (Making it Navis-only)More images from AT-34:http://www.at-43.com/images/stories/AT-43/..._01_s_color.jpghttp://www.at-43.com/images/stories/AT-43/..._02_s_color.jpghttp://www.at-43.com/images/stories/AT-43/...L02_s_color.jpghttp://www.at-43.com/images/stories/AT-43/..._troop_i_01.jpghttp://www.at-43.com/images/stories/AT-43/..._troop_i_03.jpg(SOURCE: http://www.rackham.fr/index.php?option=com...=155&Itemid=246 )

Diablos Korobase
I kinda like the ones Dagger posted but they kinda remind Me of the IEN armour a little aswell as slightly Mandalorian, though it would make them stand out and easy to recognize as Navis. But we'll have to see how those making the decision decide. Kellervo
I like the AT-43. It is a bit top heavy, but it reminded me alot of WH40k's Princeps and Moderati. Simple, effective. Like others have said, the Navis don't need particularily heavy armor on par with Terra's Medium or Alpha's Heavy armor, though marines could possibly make use of a variant of the Medium armor.I could see that working, sans helmet (or with an optional helmet), for Navis crewmen. As for that GoW image suggestion, that's way too heavy. That'd be a suitable Heavy armor replacement, if anything.
