Trinity Heckroth
A long time friend and colleague of mine was recently killed in the Libyan attack on the US consulate. Sean was a good friend. He was in situ to provide IT services for the consulate, which meant he was on the net all the time, hanging out, and a veteran of deployments in the earliest, gritty days in Iraq. During these deployments, he would occasionally say on messenger "Ffff, incoming" and vanish for a few but would always return shortly thereafter unscathed. We were chatting before it happened, and his last messages were(2:40:22 PM) Sean: Ffff(2:40:24 PM) Sean: gunfireand then he vanished as usual. This time he did not return. My heart and my thoughts go out to his family, his wife, and his children. I don't really know why I'm posting this here, I just needed to get it out somewhere. Aryte
I don't believe the identity of the victim has yet to be released to the public. Not that I imagine folks here are going to go post it on Facebook or what not. Just, food for thought. That's really sad to hear. I follow an author who keeps track of incidents like this (http://www.defenddemocracy.org/about-fdd/team-overview/gartenstein-ross-daveed/ -- he is a badass), but you never really grasp the impact until you hear it from someone who was there or knew the individuals directly effected.God speed. Krow Ames
I just went searching around. There are a few conflicting reports, one claiming an injured security worker, and another claiming a state department officer. The only clear thing is that everyone was evacuated from the site. He might still be okay, just give it some time.

BlackSergal
I see shit like this and the same feelings I felt in Oct93 well up. Remembering the dead troopies and burned blackhawk..I wish at times I was still in uniform to go over there and kill some Ffffs again... Deadmon
Lets not sully this with politics, its edging kinda close. Im sorry about losing a close friend Trin, from what all these articles are saying and what you say he was a really great guy.
Guest Ruin Nefarious
Looks like this was a planned attack, not a protest.
Ron Bleac
It's no coincidence it took place on 9/11. That video they were "protesting" over was uploaded months ago. It was just an excuse for a relatively small armed group to attack the consulate for whatever Ffffing reason.

Disraeli Calderwood
Same here. Sean was in my new hire class in 2002. Wish I'd known he played EVE before now. Yesterday at work was like an all day brain beating as everyone tried to get news. I stopped trying after a while. For those wondering, his boss in The Hague will be collecting him from Germany today to take him home. Disraeli Calderwood
A FAST team. Some elite mofos. One might also assume some pissed off elite mofos. I think the other two unidentified Americans killed will probably be two Marines from the Tripoli embassy. Just a guess though, since they're still doing next of kin as far as I know.
