  1. Actually, the Aggressor testing took place mostly under my oversight as CO of Antesignani, along with the Venerator, and what was going to be a third mech, the Secutor. The secutor would have been similar in function to our Aegis. I also prompted the development of the Onager and the Ballistae during that time... And I also came out of the Legio Offensio Levitas, which Jayce neglects to mention.
  2. IF you can change the colors, I might recommend a pale, glowing blue for the oceans, and black and silver landmasses and accents. :D
  3. Very few violent crimes are actually random acts of violence. Chances are the victim in question was somehow connected to his assailants. Aside from violent muggings, most violent crime is committed by people who know their victims personally. The same goes for most home invasions, sexual assault cases, and kidnappings. The random, violent, drug hyped criminal is not wholly unknown, but represents a rarity in most cases. Though I doubt this'd be an issue for you or...pretty much anyone in the Ordo who carries, a lot of gun owners become less safe in the course of a crime, should a criminal discover a weapon, because there are people who will purchase a firearm and not know how to properly use, clean, store, said firearm. This doesn't mean that carry laws aren't worth it or that I oppose personal gun ownership, I just get a bit annoyed if people assume there's a direct relationship between owning a firearm, and being a responsible user who can react calmly and clearly during a crime and be safer for it. I.E. some of the dipshits I've known who thought that owning a gun was something like a magic medallion that'd ward off all the PCP pumped psychotic murder-arson-rapist-robbers in a very small town.
  4. I'm a fairly large, strong guy. I know how to use melee weapons quite well. I'd avoid large groups, but I have a feeling that my biggest issue will be zombies in small spaces, where they can only attack a few at a time, or are isolated from hordes in locations that you may not have time or practically engage them with a shotgun or pistol. Plus, as I said. I can get the weapons I need if I have a sledgehammer to batter down a door, window, lock, etc. If you're facing a shambling horde, you'd be insane to try to take on or maneuver through a large collection. It's easy enough to knock a zombie over with a thrust with the head of the sledgehammer to the sternum. You can then either try to flee or dispatch the zombie right there, and it doesn't require that much force or room to do so. My point being most people don't know jack shit about how to use a melee weapon to begin with.
  5. Sledgehammer, machete, rope, bottled water, hiking pack (and camelbak), various survival and first aid tools (Knife, basic light tools kit, maps, etc), sword (not kidding), camera, binocs, laptop, handcrank operated LED flashlight (very bright) changes of clothing. I can, if necessary, get anything else I need with most of this. Escape would likely be out the back door through the patio. It might hurt, but I'm reasonable sure I can drop down to the first floor without killing myself or breaking my legs. Sledgehammer is fiberglass shaft, securely connected tot he head. Makes an excellent, durable weapon in a pinch, as well as able to break locks, windows, doors, and barricades. Ditto machete. I can forage, link up with other survivors, and work my way towards colder areas where it is likely the decomposing, roving masses of the undead will be slowed down and hindered while the survivors and I formulate a more effective plan. By then, we will have fulfilled a checklist of other requirements and gear, which I actually have stored in my backpack for any nightmarish survival situation. Hopefully, we can locate a military installation which is likely to be best equipped to have repelled the zombies, or a larger gathering of survivors, though I would avoid mobs. The difference being a mob will be panicked, unwilling to accept their conditions, unruly, undisciplined, and destructive to itself. Survivors will be collected, if not in the best mental state (the world just ended, after all) and capable of protecting themselves and others. We would want to establish what sort of zombie threat we were facing. If viral or environmental zombies, then we wait for the zombies to decompose or otherwise die out as they will only survive for so long. Simple estimate is roughly a year, especially in this area of the country where the environment will breakdown and kill off large numbers of zombies rapidly over a few months time alone. Supernatural Zombies might be a bit more difficult to outlast, as the hellish and otherworldly energies that bind them to the mortal plane may well indefinitely sustain their state.
  6. I rather enjoy L4D2, since I don't have L4D. I'm all for it.

I'm increasingly warming up to this whole concept. We'll see how this next one goes. I hear that Agares guy is a real jerk.
  8. I suppose that this is better than nothing.
  9. I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of my Husaria saving Europe at Vienna.
  10. OH NO. NOT YOU, ZRAZOR. YOU WILL INNOVATE AND BE UNLAZY. Or else.
  11. Quickdraws are not a thing of honor. To (finally) address the topic at hand: No, we should not permit or grant anyone to walk over us, however there is also a line where we can take a few blows other groups cannot or will not to permit for a more active and thriving community. While we do, as the Lord Imperator states, try to mentor where we can, it is very difficult, and we seek other, subtler or less politically 'upsetting' methods. A lot of groups value their own sovereignty or the appearance thereof higher than following their own rules or acting on an ethical basis. Even so, by comparison of what some groups once where in the past, the community has, for the most part improved. I personally have observed this is in part thanks to our often careful diplomatic and exemplary actions, and groups such as CATI, while not outright paragons of ethics in combat, are much more inclined to act ethically than in the past. The line should be drawn at the blatant disregard for our own standards, particularly on Titan. While there is only so much we can do abroad, short of blockading them or diplomatic censure, at home we are capable of exerting the full force of our numbers, training, and rules to drive home our stance...and to bring underhanded individuals and groups to heel or otherwise deny them our combat if they're completely unruly and irreverent. I feel we are already very active diplomatically, though I think it is time to shift our tone a bit and focus on developing more transparency and a better set of commonly agreed "That ain't cool to do" guidelines for combat. The biggest thing about any diplomatic effort, however, is that it usually takes a lot of time and effort. Results will often be a long time in coming, and changes can be fragile or small at first.
  12. It's nice of you to leave the light on for me, Mr. Creeggan. Sweet dreams.
  13. Mind you, this is a Meyer's Briggs inventory Lite. A real one is like...5 hours of testing and answering questions. This barely scratches the surface, and as a result can and will only give vague indication of one's personality type. Furthermore, when I was tested, I was split down the line for three trait pairs, almost dead even in each. Those would be E/i, T/F, and J/P (Though I was less split on the J/P pairing, and leaned towards the J or Judging aspect.) According to the the test, then, I'm massively Intuitive, rather than sensing and I am more Judging than I am Perceiving. I split near dead even for Extroverted/Introverted, however, and on Thinking/Feeling. My tester said I was anomaly and that I should retake the test some time. The test gives an indication of what kind of personality a person has, but not, by far their potential or ability really is. So for instance, you can have INTJs who are absolute dumbFfffs, and ENTJs terrified of public speaking.

I'd like to appear some time in the podcast, to discuss things. Should prove interesting, I'd think.

I've never listened to a podcast. How does make it work.
  16. Crash makes the half of the Ordo that's gay look comparatively heterosexual.
  17. That's downtown Portland, Trin. Sadly, that fell through. The people who ran the place neglected to tell us that there were other were applications out, and had gotten accepted. Dicks. We're looking at a place in Gresham. Also, that's an example. I'd have curtains. And a gun rest.
  18. There is a 40% chance this will be my living room.
  19. What if a commander was willing (Theoretically) to provide reasonable compensation in return for a limited run of some of the goodies (say 10 caps @ 1.5 the normal rate)? Also, Berets may be better served by getting enameled pins with the Ordo logo on it. Thing is, to get the pins, you'd need to purchase them in bulk from the producer, but on the other hand tie/lapel pins and cap pins would probably sell like wildfire if we have people who are inclined to purchase them.
