Scientific can change the color of his face at will. Red is easy, purple hurts. -
Kristian Kit is Dutch if I'm not mistaken.

How NOT to deal with Faces of the IS group IM's.
Scientific Waffle replied to Vinnie Lei's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, Diablos had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Back when I was in EU, my biggest surprise in attending an IS high com meeting was how chummy all the various high commands are... trying to align the various armies in the IS against each other beyond anything completely friendly in nature is something that won't happen any time in the near future. There's more than just ideology keeping us together, there's a shared history and friendship. We have fun together, treat each other with respect, and realize our place in the military scene. The latter is something Diablos never learned. -
Already have my land bought and my building built, I'd prefer to have my own plot anyways.

Well, I've decided to start up a small business in SL and open up a store location. The focus is on selling odd or random fun items (of good quality), and I was wondering if anyone would like to sell any products of theirs at my store. All it has to be is something enjoyable, and the store is geared towards selling things outside of the usual gunshop/skinshop/clotheshop found in SL, though if you've made any weapons or gear you'd like to sell their I'd be happy to put it in their as well. I'll create a vendor for anyone who wants to sell something in my shop if they don't already have one of their own. My shop's location is across the street from the Titan store in Ratin, and it can also be found in my picks. Just IM me or leave a post here if you're interested.

Well the waffle could also be folded or bent or curved, but that would present difficulties in building it which would probably require use of sculpties and the like. And NO, just shrinking my current head does not fulfill the requirements :P

Attention all builders, sculpters, and plywood box fans alike: I am hereby announcing that I will award 1500 L$ to anyone who can build me a proper waffle head to my specifications! You see, my one problem with my current waffle head is that I am sadly denied what was once a joy and source of pride in my Second Life: head paraphernalia! Due to the rather unique shape of my waffly head, I am denied the joy of hats, scarfs, glasses, berets, beards, and all sorts of fun things people put upon their heads. Being that I lack the conceptual vision and technical know-how to create a waffle head which would allow me to occasionally partake in the joy of head accessories, I have announced that I will pay the above amount to any individual who can create a waffle head which: 1. Allows me to wear hats, glasses (though no actual eyes needed), and other various standard head-based equipment. 2. Looks similar enough to my current waffle head (in terms of general aesthetic) to keep my current "look" going. I will provide any resource requested (textures, current heads) to help builders with this. 3. I must like/enjoy/approve of the final build of my new head. Builders can use any building technique (sculpts, miniprims, the like) to create my new head, so long as it fulfills the above conditions. I would be overjoyed if anyone succeeded in fulfilling the above requirements, but I would not be surprised if no one ends up being able to, being that the Ordo's top builders are naturally bogged down with actual important projects. Please post in this thread with thoughts/questions regarding this contest.

Merczateers: Request for Assistance
Scientific Waffle replied to Aryte's topic in General Discussion
I rather enjoy visiting Narik. The Mercz in the late hours are generally friendly and a good bunch. I'll be sure to make more frequent extended visits. -
It's a novel and well thought out idea, but I personally dislike the concept. From the looks of it you spent an extensive amount of time thinking this out, but I simply don't see this being feasible, worth the effort, or enjoyable on a personal level. One of the reasons I love SL military life is that its all very practical; you don't do quests to get some cool title like "Waffle Rouge Master Slayer of Dragons"; it's much more direct and simple. And yes, pretty much anything out of the ordinary would be complained about and banned from all practical situations. This might work if this system were in a closed, centralized military RP system. However, for the SL military community, it just simply doesn't fit with how combat and military life is conducted. To be blunt, it's a whole lot of busy work for an array of relatively small rewards, which is why I don't play World of Warcraft or other MMOs instead of Second Life to begin with. However, I don't think all of this work should go to waste; what I DO think is feasible would be to incorporate a similar system into our developing Academy system. What I would suggest is that perhaps such unlockable equipment could be accessed through special training sessions or "schools" in Academy. However, I think such a system would have to be much more practical. Creating huge lists of busywork for people to do is in my opinion an incredibly inefficient waste of manpower resources. You can argue that people will better themselves in the process; however, if this is the end goal I think there are certainly more efficient ways of achieving this. I hate to sound like someone simply resisting change for the sake of continuance, but this system in my opinion simply does not mesh with how SL military culture operates. Simply seeing the huge amount of work you put into this, I want these ideas applied to something. I think a simplified version based solely on direct and practical achievements could work (just look at the Mercz BP system, as an example). However, I am personally very much against implementing this in the form you've proposed.

Was fooling around with some of my instruments earlier, when Samia asked me if a Keytar is a real instrument. Someone is obviously lacking a proper appreciation of all things cheesy, synth, and 80s! So, as part of an initiative to educate my fellow Ordo members, I present to you an enlightening excerpt from the 1985 Grammy Awards. So terrible it's amazing. Props go to Herbie Hancock, who managed to survive this phase of his career and still win Album of the Year in 2008. Oh, how much we've advanced as a culture.

Scientific Waffle loves all things physics-related. Particularly enjoys giving people headaches by forcing them to do kinematics equations with objects' DeBroglie matter wavelengths instead of their masses. Also loves how awesome and long this thread has become. -

I'm sure he thinks the fact that he could do this is impressive. In reality, all it really means is that he's either a) a script kiddie or b) spends way too much time gossiping with people to get the slightest scrap of info about an obsession of his.

Wow. Really awesome find Intus. I love stuff like this. I really like how the underlying story is given very piecemeal, leaving you to fill in the blanks.

Detention for all of you!

I whipped up my own (I wanted a subtly different effect for mine), but I'm curious as to what you're using using to make yours. If you're using Photoshop, you could always just post a link to an uploaded PSD template so people who have even a minimal knowledge of photoshop wouldn't have to bother you, though I also suppose the corner cuts might be more difficult to incorporate into a self-explanatory template.

I saddens me when I see peoples' names whom I recognize (from when they were in actual, respectable militaries) on this list of petty criminals.

Ordo: Standards of Punishment [Officer]

I would like to point out that the topic of this thread is about as badass as official documentation can get. -
