[18:00:13] Aryte Vesperia: A very good evening to you all! Welcome and thank you for attending. Please be sure to hold your comments and questions until provided the opportunity to speak. Interruptions affect us all. [18:00:38] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 321 Cadets: 9 Applications New: 9 Accepted: 1 Denied: 5 Review: 3 Operations Defensive: 98 Offensive: 15 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:01:41] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes this week: fire and brimstone. XAF is fairly unhappy with us . . . but not one fuck is given. In short, Isabella ran her mouth and got slapped down with a ban as a punitive culmination of the last several months of having to deal with her. In other news, we dropped huge amounts of ordinance on CPC, SLAD, and 2142. It was extremely therapeutic. They do not seem to mind it too much. Other than CPC, who had a small conundrum when their gunship was vaporized by an Enforcer missile. See last statement: no fucks given. All in all, raid activity has dipped—but that was expected with the return of folks to school. It will level back out. Just keep trucking and we will resume a higher sense of activity once the semester is underway. [18:02:21] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this evening? [18:02:25] Hollowmengitus Yifu raises hand. [18:02:30] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra. [18:02:59] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Yifu. [18:03:03] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Terra has had an below-average week. Raids were led, enemies conquered, nonetheless! Shizzerk, the CO of A-1, has gone on LOA -- to Alaska. Let's hope he doesn't get mauled by bears or lost in the woods. Foward any messages you have to his XO, Riff Petrov, for the time being. There isn't a lot to report; the headline of today's meeting is very important, so let's get right to that. [18:03:35] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman? [18:03:38] Ethan Schuman: The past week was pretty average for Astra. While we didn't see much in terms of air raid activity and training, I personally ran two raids with quite a few Astra in attendance. Palaestra pushed through most of the Icarus candidates to get their basic training completed. I do want to emphasize to all that Icarus pilots are required to complete a couple of additional events to gain normal defense priority and offense deployment capabilities. These "events" can be extremely simple, such as doing a 10 to 15 minute dogfight practice with an Astra pilot, or participating in another person's training phases. The purpose of these events is to ensure a better comprehension of basic flight principles, and to increase skill retention over time, as Icarus pilots will usually be on the ground and not getting regular flight time. As I said, these events can be quite simple, and you can get them down quite quickly, so do so. [18:04:58] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:05:30] Aryte Vesperia: Excellent, then. [18:05:33] Aryte Vesperia: Onward! [18:05:45] Aryte Vesperia: Well. I promised you all a meeting worth making arrangements to be present for. So let us get right to it. There are two major topics to cover. I will begin with the smaller of the two. [18:06:03] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Strategic Initiative [18:06:17] Aryte Vesperia: We have spent a good deal of time idly chewing on the notion of what our underlying “strategy” is and has been over the years. Currently, our group goals are quite simple—and they have been that way for years: survive and grow. Sounds reasonable, no? In theory, certainly. But it leaves quite a lot of room for interpretation. It does not shape us properly; it does not guide us to an ultimate task, nor provide us an object to focus upon. [18:07:04] Aryte Vesperia: Looking back, examine our strategy in 2006. We were a new organization, with an ambitious aim: defeat the largest (and at the time, most powerful) force on the grid. Our goal was clear to every man and woman who joined: the AN was going to go down, by our hand. It pushed us. It provided us a real, tangible reach. And, by God, we dismantled them over the course of time. We clawed our way to the top with a great deal of strife and bloodshed. [18:07:47] Aryte Vesperia: Now, that sort of attitude would be labeled “extreme.” We would receive scorn from others and be labeled as “too serious.” To that, I say: fuck them. For the entirety of our existence, we have remained the villains. Even our allies, the Merczateers, broke apart the Symphony under the pretense that the Ordo was too much of a political liability. Now, let’s remember, this is all while we were timid and avoiding being “insulting” or “extreme” by putting aside our original plot in order to embrace a mundane desire to simply survive. [18:08:37] Aryte Vesperia: Think about it. All the time you hear “man, I miss the good ol days . .” The good ol’ days were blood, strife, and a spine. Today, we (the community) are wrapped in politics, timid because of bans, and afraid that someone’s feelings might get hurt because we bombed them, or used a weapon that was too strong for the situation, or that we outnumbered them. [18:09:27] Aryte Vesperia: Friends. I am too tired of that. We all should be. We have put far too much time in to this group to have our hands tied by fear of repercussion, or considerations of attempting to be “the good guys.” Fuck the moral high ground. We’ll take it by force, with firepower and collective arms. [18:10:02] Aryte Vesperia: That is not to say we should shirk procedure, honor, and integrity. Quite the contrary. We must embrace it. We must confide in what our processes dictate within the Ordo. We must remain strong among one another—trust me, we have recruited far more new members through demonstrating power, over demonstrating how “nice” we can be to others. We will not break our own rules, or the rules of others, but timidity be damned. [18:11:05] Aryte Vesperia: As such. Let us explore the future. Let us consider our new strategic norm today and state it to a candid world. Let us show the recalcitrant mob that is the SLMC that we intend to remain oh so much more than your average collection of folks in the same uniform. [18:12:03] Aryte Vesperia: Henceforth, our strategic aim shall be centric upon military dominance. We will not politically pander; we will not entangle ourselves into treaties. Our goal will be to project the presence of imperial might among all elements of the SLMC, to hang our banner over every world, and unravel—forcibly—those who seek to undermine our presence through acts beyond the battlefield. Our primary AO shall remain varied throughout our common foes—for now. Upon the conclusion of development projects that will provide us the necessary teeth, our aim shall be to wade into the CC as a crusading force. We’ve no intent to move a region there. [18:14:19] Aryte Vesperia: In short. Our strategic initiative is to conquer. We will bring bloodshed to everyone's door, or fight to the point in which there's nothing left to fight. Let war be our motivation. Let conflict inspire our designs, our development, and our process. [18:15:13] Aryte Vesperia: Next. [18:15:22] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ The Reformation [18:15:42] Aryte Vesperia: Yesterday I announced my plans to dramatically reshape the Ordo Imperialis as we know it. The officer corps collectively appeared to be on board and supportive of the ideas invested in the plan. However, I shall prefix this statement in the same manner I did for them: give it a chance. Avoid the sensation to cry “that’s an extreme change.” The Ordo needs to be innovative. We need to work outside of the box. We need to try new things. [18:16:19] Aryte Vesperia: Ultimately, the details are not all in place. There will be many questions—and I welcome them, but you must work with an open mind here. You must embrace this as an opportunity for the Ordo to advance, or it shall be inherently flawed by resistance. ! [18:17:12] Aryte Vesperia: To begin, I am looking to revise the Ordo’s structure . . . from the top, to the bottom. We need to consolidate our forces effectively, provide opportunity for the masses, and decentralize our power to ensure the ability to survive all events. I believe I have figured out how to make that occur. [18:17:54] Aryte Vesperia: The first step? I am planning to entirely dissolve both Astra and Terra. [18:18:02] Dresden Xaris: ! [18:18:27] Aryte Vesperia: In their place, I am effectively reorganizing the main combat units into . . . well; think of a Marine Expeditionary Force. The term we shall utilize shall be homage to our foundation: legions. We shall have conducive, unified forces under legionary tags. Rather than, say, Cohors A attempting to collaborate with Astra for manpower, Legion X will pull from its own forces to supply that air power. [18:19:05] Aryte Vesperia: Rather than putting a band-aid on our lack of pilots, we will have the flexibility to appoint and dismiss aircraft qualifications. The training portions will remain. The administration of that training will remain. The divisions, however, will no longer be in existence—nor shall the /division/ among forces. [18:19:57] Aryte Vesperia: Initially, I am looking at three Legions. Plus one auxiliary force. The auxiliary will be the entry level for all new members of the Ordo. From there, the legions will recruit. Additionally, the auxiliary will house inactives. From a vertical standpoint, the group will be adjusted to the following: Office of Imperator < - Legionary Council < - Legions < - Auxiliary < - Schola. [18:20:35] Aryte Vesperia: The council will consist of our current O-5's. They will devise policy, act as an effective senate, and hold the ability to . . . essentially be me (with the necessary number of votes) in my absence. Legions will act under constitutional law, as set by the handbook-- their primary codex. Every legion shall have the ability to devise their own rules therein-- provided it falls within the constraint of the codex. [18:21:23] Aryte Vesperia: Commanders shall, effectively, be able to devise how their units are run. Whether it is standard codex, or an ultra-specific force. Legions shall be fleet centric. Each shall have a flagship. Legions will grow as the group grows. If an officer grows within a legion and aspires to lead his or her own: he will request the honor from the council. If said officer can raise the necessary forces, without cannibalizing other legions (beyond . . say, 10%), then said officer may raise their /own/ legion. [18:22:11] Aryte Vesperia: It will be the responsibility of each legion to maintain adequate air power. If, for example, my legion consisted of 10 people, and I had 3 pilots . . . if one of my pilots went inactive, it would be up to me to appoint a new one, ensure they enter Palaestra, and that they pass. As such, legion commanders will be combined forces leaders. [18:22:48] Aryte Vesperia: There will be administrative corps devised to ensure basic proficiencies remain -- effectively, a number of inquisitive auditors who will maintain proficiency among the legions. It will be their responsibility to ensure the handbook codex is followed, and the group wide training expectations (ART/Palaestra) are imposed. [18:23:38] Aryte Vesperia: The Praetorian Guard is going to join this legionary structure. It will be its own legion. It will also be seeing a change of mandate. Rather than simply treat it as a repeat of what I expect from every legion (squad combat), the Guard will focus on an operator mindset. They will focus on force multiplication, special tasks, and operating in small groups. The Guard will remain officer centric, but raise additional forces from the first tier of each legion. [18:24:41] Aryte Vesperia: In tandem with this project, I am changing our ranks. We will be seeing an infusion of traditional rank names, with a bit of flair. Additionally, we will be introducing grades vs rank. For example, an E-3 may become a corporal, or a specialist-- based upon their skill sets and potential of making a worthy NCO. The council shall hold respective deviations pertinent to their assignments. [18:25:36] Aryte Vesperia: I understand this is a big change. I understand there are a lot of questions and changes. Bear with me. Let's give it a try. We've got nothing to lose. [18:26:46] Aryte Vesperia: As for a time line: too early to tell. My focus for the remaining month has to remain upon preparing for an officer exam. However as time permits, I shall work upon this and prepare for the transition. Ambitiously, it could be a matter of a couple of weeks. The transition should be rather simple: establish legion cores from existing elite units, divided up Astra personnel accordingly, fill vacancies from staffing in B units, reorganize the educational elements to IEA centric (and the administration therein), provide the invitations to the new groups and begin actions. [18:27:12] Aryte Vesperia: The difficult part will simply be going through and modifying all of our existing documents and policy to reflect the new legionary structure. [18:27:47] Aryte Vesperia: Upon the posting of this log to the meeting forums: feel free to ask questions on there. I shall answer them and provide clarity where necessary. Otherwise, hold your horses and maintain status quo for now. You will be kept in the loop. But it is necessary to keep proceeding as is and wait for the switch to be thrown before making any movements. [18:28:12] Aryte Vesperia: Ladies and gentlemen, I am excited to give this a shot. I hope you are too. I hope you see the benefit I see—no other group has done this or organized in such an effective manner. There’s no reason we should continue running in the footsteps of traditional structure. Let’s maximize our potential and prepare for the escalation of conflict properly. [18:29:23] Aryte Vesperia: I will be spending the remaining thirty minutes alloted to the meeting answering questions in the top channel of TS3. I stress that you realize /it is not in stone/. My answer may not be true a week later. [18:29:53] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you for coming. As always, it was a pleasure to speak with you all. Dismissed. I’ll be in the top channel on TS3 and the sim will remain closed until 7 for uninterrupted questions.

They're not always at the computer, or otherwise preoccupied (ex: Xoza is on TS3 in class). Looking at other regions, it is pretty much dead all around. We just keep pushing and we'll be fine.
-
Things will level back out. There's always a strong decrease in activity during the first couple of weeks of the school year. Simply be persistent and be patient.
-
As a reminder, battle buddies are mandatory. If you've been in the Ordo for at least a month, you should know what they are and know how to use 'em. If I catch you without a battle buddy, be prepared to explain why! Thank ye'.

[17:59:34] NuzzyLus Resident: Intus, stand next to us :v [18:00:29] Aryte Vesperia: A very good evening to you all! Welcome and thank you for attending. [18:00:56] Aryte Vesperia: Statistics Sworn members: 321 Cadets: 9 Applications New: 7 Accepted: 2 Denied: 2 Review: 3 Operations Defensive: 89 Offensive: 18 Allied Assistance: 0 [18:01:36] Aryte Vesperia: Diplomatic notes for this week: the combat continent sim cluster has proven to be an . . . interesting amalgam of groups. As is, you can expect a rather difficult challenge upon entering any of the CC regions, as it attracts the attention of the denizens of all the clusters. Further, the significant groups—such as AN—now use the CC homesteads to put a lot of space between their base and the entry point. CC has been elevated on the combat tier. Raids there should be taken fairly seriously, with an expectation of a large response of foes. It is recommended that teams focus on scoring kills, rather than obtaining any mentionable sim objectives. [18:02:12] Aryte Vesperia: Unit reports this evening? [18:02:13] Hollowmengitus Yifu raises hand for Terra. [18:02:16] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Yifu. [18:02:38] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Hello, Ordo. Terra had yet another average week. [18:03:34] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Not a whole lot to report this week. :[ [18:04:08] Aryte Vesperia: Next? :D [18:04:22] Aryte Vesperia raises hand for Astra. [18:04:27] Aryte Vesperia: Mm yes, go ahead Mr. Vesperia. [18:04:40] Aryte Vesperia: Yes. Apparently Astra couldn't be bothered to be here. [18:04:49] Aryte Vesperia: So let's talk a bit about Astra. [18:04:59] Aryte Vesperia: Remember that plane, the Phantom? [18:05:11] Aryte Vesperia: It's due by August 15th, or I am taking over the project. :J [18:05:17] Aryte Vesperia: That's all in Astra news! [18:05:20] Aryte Vesperia: Next? [18:05:37] Aryte Vesperia: Final call. [18:05:44] Aryte Vesperia: Great. Moving on! [18:05:49] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ TS3 Adventures [18:06:22] Aryte Vesperia: The last several weeks (months, maybe?) have proven to be an exciting journey through the realm of shoddy hosts and unexplained issues with our TS3 connectivity. After an uphill battle, and I knock on wood, it does appear that we have finally tightened things down back to a sense of stability. Long story short: we swapped providers some month ago and were promised better service and connection strength. We received neither and have opted to jump back to a different provider. [18:07:43] Aryte Vesperia: Although a tad bit more costly, it does appear this new selection has returned our TS3 back to a reasonably reliable rate. Further, it seems that the temporary restriction of 32 users has also been removed. If that is incorrect, someone please correct me. [18:08:36] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you to everyone for your patience. We apologize for any interruptions caused by the server issues. Additionally, thank you to Firefox Breed for enduring hours of torment as we page, text messaged, called, and IM’d him “TS3 is down.” [18:09:23] Aryte Vesperia: We actually don't feel bad at all for that, however, and encourage everyone to continue paging him if there's TS3 issues. [18:09:58] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Region Update [18:10:53] Aryte Vesperia: We are steadily entering into a new phase of region development: preparation for transition and removal of current build elements to have prims available. If you have not taken the opportunity (or ran into Disembodied): he has started uploading mesh models in world and has a good selection of the large pieces placed out around the plywood kingdom. [18:12:31] Aryte Vesperia: We have not yet reached the point that it is necessary to deconstruct anything on ground level, but we will be approaching that pretty rapidly as the models become more fleshed out. Here are a couple of not in world screenshots for folks: [18:12:37] Aryte Vesperia: http://i49.tinypic.com/raqikw.jpg/>http://i50.tinypic.com/13z8jk2.jpg [18:14:04] Disraeli Calderwood raises his hand. [18:14:18] Aryte Vesperia: You are welcome to go visit the build upstairs, just be sure not to disrupt or distract Disembodied as he labors away. Once we have the major elements all in mesh, the rest of the work is sort of like a more fancy and digital version of Legos. We are getting there, ladies and gentlemen. I am extremely excited for this to finally become a reality! [18:14:24] Disraeli Calderwood lowers his hand. [18:14:28] Aryte Vesperia: Calderwood-- [18:14:33] Aryte Vesperia: Un-Calderwood. [18:15:29] Aryte Vesperia: Any questions /about/ the sim build? [18:15:44] NuzzyLus Resident: When was the due date before? [18:16:01] Aryte Vesperia: Initial models were expected right about now. :J [18:16:54] Aryte Vesperia: Moving right along. [18:16:58] Aryte Vesperia: ✠AK-12 [18:17:39] Aryte Vesperia: There are a few questions related to the AK-12 that I would like to address for the good of everyone. Foremost: yes, the AK-12 will be replacing the SCAR. It will also be taking the place of the Covalent as the primary weapon for Astra. The SCAR will be retired, but the Covalent will remain in the armory as an unlock. [18:18:36] Aryte Vesperia: Secondly, there has been a lot of chatter regarding LOD and the AK-12 not being visible outside of 10m without a high LOD on your client. We are aware of this and do not intend to make adjustments to the model to accommodate more distance. The reason being: the model has already been “sewn together” in the 3d client. To disassemble it and increase its visibility over distance would not be worth the effort. [18:19:52] Aryte Vesperia: Although I realize there are concerns that we’ll receive flak for the gun being seemingly invisible to enemies on the other side of the sim, I would rather get the weapon operational and cross that bridge if we come to it, rather than delaying the program and waiting for its release without knowing if it’ll ever actually be a problem to consider. [18:20:50] Aryte Vesperia: Further, there have been some questions on additional attachments—such as a drum magazine. This is a possibility and I have already chatted some with Scarlet Flaks about adding a GL. I see no problem making a drum magazine option part of the weapon. We’re looking to make this an effective, multi-function platform. Somethin’ to give Ordo folks a new standard rifle to be proud of. [18:22:10] Aryte Vesperia: Thus far, I am every bit as proud of the weapon as I’d hope to of been. It has proven itself in combat in multiple events. Whether or not it’ll be more legendary than our old school SCAR? Time will tell. [18:23:38] Aryte Vesperia: Annnd that concludes tonight's meeting. :J We're gathering for an ARMA entourage! Assemble in SUB 3 for those who wish to play. We'll begin in about ten minutes! Dismissed and have a wonderful night! [18:23:39] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute.

If you want to ride around on fast moving vehicles and shoot people along the way, let Carrious Darbyshire know. [18:03:34] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Going back to B, I'm proud to announce that George Reisman is now B CO. With the absence of thatguy, George has stepped up to the plate multiple times. Good job, Grizzly. [18:03:56] Hollowmengitus Yifu: That's all for Terra tonight. [18:04:07] Hollowmengitus Yifu rips off his shirt and runs off the stage. [18:04:12] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Next? [18:04:21] Radryl Allen raises his mace. [18:04:23] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Petrov. [18:04:24] Riff Petrov raises a hand for the IEA. [18:04:29] Ethan Schuman raises his hand. [18:04:35] Riff Petrov: For the Imperial Education Administration: Another strong week for Schola with 33 phases held and 2 Armatura classes. Plenty of new faces as an obvious result. Big thanks to Rigonet for managing 16 classes in a week! Aside the massive influx from schola things are relatively quiet in the IEA. Interested in teaching for the IEA? Apply online at: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/13701-iea-scholaarmatura-recruitment-application/ or contact me directly. That's all for the IEA this week! [18:05:09] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Mr. Allen? [18:05:31] Radryl Allen: Good evening everyone. This is Adstutia, it was a pretty slow week, the only news that we can give is that EB is open and their new sim is pretty different compared to the old one. As always, Melina will be a problem, so I will try to lead the first raid to make sure everything will go well, from what I heard from Sonja, it seems that Melina is on some kind of banning streak and will do his best to get ANYONE banned with random reasons. [18:06:14] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you! Mr. Schuman? [18:06:22] Ethan Schuman: Astra has the following to report. Both Aquila and Reapers are experiencing a trend of newer, more active people coming in/back to fill the slots of those who we are cycling back to the reserves. This has caused standard flight activity to increase on average. While we're still nowhere near the level of participation I'd like to see, things are improving. Letalis also had good activity numbers this week, with Twitchy also starting to aim for dedicated air raids in addition to ground assaults. Also, despite Heavy being distracted by his new Enforcer (congrats on that, by the way), Palaestra efficiently processed the large number of recruits that came through. Quite a few Icarus pilots have reached their Tier 1 certification, and five are working on their Tier 2. Those numbers were up to date on Tuesday. I believe a few more have advanced since then. Azimuth is doing a good job of managing Icarus so far despite Reinhardt's LOA, so I'm quite optimistic about the performance we'll see when he returns. [18:06:31] Ethan Schuman: That's all from Astra for this week. [18:07:03] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Final call. [18:07:44] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on. [18:07:45] Aryte Vesperia: ✠Development [18:08:07] Aryte Vesperia: A round of applause for another page being turned: the M11 is no more. Say hello to the actually useful and effective Fulgor! This has been a long time coming—I am rather excited to see the new sniper platform in use and actually finding a place among our combat arms. The mixture of ray and DU rounds give it a strong bite. [18:08:30] Aryte Vesperia: If you still have the M11, go swap ‘er out. You won’t be disappointed. As a side note, the targeting with the ray round takes some practice. Once you get the hang of it, the lethality is unmatched. [18:08:51] Aryte Vesperia: There are some questions floating about regarding the AP damage on the DU. Uh. This is a state secret; sorry (it’s around 15). [18:09:27] Aryte Vesperia: In other news, testing of the AK-12 has been going extremely well. I do want to go ahead and let folks know that upon the release, we will be changing the weaponry allotments a tad bit. Rather than issuing separate primary weapons to Astra and Terra, the AK-12 will be universal to all. The Covalent will be placed back into the armory as an unlock for Astra and continue its availability per the norm for everyone else. [18:09:43] Aryte Vesperia: Reason being? Consistency is pleasant. Further, the new tracer designations for the platform will be beneficial to both divisions. [18:10:40] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Stay Frosty [18:11:12] Aryte Vesperia: For the sake of the team, I want to take a minute to just chat about the importance of keeping on task during combat. In the immortal words of Guardsman Bleac: stay frosty. Clear, consistent orders are critical—as is keeping yourself in check during the midst of battle. [18:12:15] Aryte Vesperia: During ART, we talk a whole lot about maintaining com order. During ART, we do a phenomenal job of demonstrating that. During most raids, we do an equally phenomenal job. However, from time to time, that overall structure breaks down and we run into issues. There are a few “usual suspects” in that regard: the too many chief syndrome, the “I’m a badass” syndrome, and the “I like to make sure everyone knows I am unhappy” syndrome. [18:13:49] Aryte Vesperia: Too many chiefs occurs when we’ve got folks outside of command structure (IE: not the FTL, SOG, or OIC) handing out orders or directing troop movement. Any time someone not otherwise enumerated starts tossing out commands or suggestions vocally, it creates a sense of confusion. The real orders get lost, or overridden by what—for the most part—is just someone trying to be helpful. [18:14:45] Aryte Vesperia: In the event you do have a suggestion, bring it up to the respective commander in private. That’s not to say you shouldn’t communicate: you definitely need to. Express situations, call targets, call downs, and keep things pertinent. [18:15:28] Aryte Vesperia: The “I’m a badass” situation pops up when things spiral from “target down” or “haha! Got ‘em!” to “whoa bros, did you see how I totally pwned that guy?” Suddenly half the team is talking about how they owned X or Y and the whole situation devolves into the OIC trying to give orders between folks expunging over how totally awesome the last enemy’s death was. [18:16:23] Aryte Vesperia: There is a time and place for celebration: take a screenshot, log that memory, and bring it up in detail after the battle is concluded. [18:17:22] Aryte Vesperia: Annnnd my personal favorite: “I like to make sure everyone knows I am unhappy.” This is the groaning on mic, complaining about dying X way, or saying things like “WHY AM I NOT GETTING TELEPORTS?” “STILL WAITING FOR TELEPORT.” “CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME WHY ..” If you’re not the FTL, SOG, or OIC . . . you have no business reprimanding folks in battle. Stick to your guns, politely repeat your necessity for a teleport. If all else fails: take your hand off the push to talk key when you’re groaning about dying. [18:18:27] Aryte Vesperia: I know some situations get frustrating. I’ve been there. We’ve all been there. But venting those frustrations on mic hurts the team. [18:19:12] Aryte Vesperia: Neeext up . . [18:19:18] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Imperator Involvement [18:19:32] Aryte Vesperia: This is a topic that I have covered a bit more in depth with the officer corps, but I wish to brush over it for the sake of keeping everyone on the same page. In regards to my involvement with the group, I am attempting to create a more regimented schedule for myself to provide me with the necessary time to handle some very important matters offline. [18:20:12] Aryte Vesperia: I ask for everyone’s understanding if I am aloof or scarce during weekdays. I will make all available efforts to be present daily, but ultimately I am going to need to lock away a couple hours each evening to work on preparing for a career change. That is hardly to say I am going to be entirely absent. Simply, I will be off and on and sticking pretty close to the calendar I provided on the forums. Please, please use the time slots listed on said calendar. [18:21:04] Aryte Vesperia: Otherwise, in the bigger picture, I will be focusing my efforts on strategic development. Tactical level decisions are far more suited to being left to our officer and senior NCOs. These days, there simply are not enough hours in the day for me to be as invested in every nook and cranny of the group. It is time, and has been time, for me to sit back and provide the wide reaching direction for the staff to enact and enforce. [18:21:58] Aryte Vesperia: If for whatever reason I am required for a particular task or you simply wish to hit me up for a chat: the door is still always open. Just do not be too surprised (provided it isn’t critical) if I whip out a desk calendar and ask you what time slot would be best to discuss, haha. [18:22:57] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Day Off [18:23:06] Aryte Vesperia: Guess what? Tomorrow is the last Sunday of this month! As such, it is our monthly day off. Yaaaay. Casual dress will be approved and we will be on stand down throughout the day. We will continue our basic administrative functions, but otherwise you are all free to relax and party heartily. [18:23:43] Aryte Vesperia: I will announce when it begins, so stick to them uniforms until otherwise noted! [18:23:58] Aryte Vesperia: . . okay it begins now! Dismissed and have a nice night! :D [18:23:59] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:24:05] Intus Infinity presents a salute. [18:24:07] Rei Kuhr salutes. [18:24:07] Wynand Doomdale thumps his paw to his chest and salutes. [18:24:08] Turnip Darkfury salutes! [18:24:09] Kasumi Quartz salutes, " Ruhm zu dem Imperator" [18:24:09] conger Mint salutes!

Raids have been increased this passed week, along with the variety -- a few Mercz raids in there, I saw. This makes both me and your commanders very pleased to see; keep it up. [18:01:28] Aryte Vesperia: In other news, in a visit to the Merczateers, I did ask if we were still good to group up and do join operations; we, as a matter of fact, are. So, should you ever need additional men to fight a large target, get in contact with the Mercz; they should also return us the favor. [18:01:56] Aryte Vesperia: Promotion tests will be graded tonight, sorry for falling behind a bit. Additionally, if you're Astra and seeking E-8 (or above,) I will not touch your tests; instead, I will forward them to relevant command members. Just for clarities sake! That's all for Terra tonight. [18:01:59] Aryte Vesperia: THANK YOU ARYTE. [18:02:01] Aryte Vesperia: Next? [18:02:10] Ethan Schuman raises his hand for Astra [18:02:13] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman. [18:02:18] Ethan Schuman: v [18:02:21] Ethan Schuman: Err [18:02:26] Ethan Schuman: Astra has the following to report. Reapers activity was down drastically this week, and Aquila was slightly lower. Letalis, however, maintained good performance and activity. Palaestra has been extremely busy, as we've had quite a few Icarus members to process in addition to our standard recruits. We've begun going through the Reserves and removing people who have not been active and participating in Ordo (without official Leave of Absence, naturally). We're doing this to trim the fat and give a better representation of our true size. More cuts will be made over the following weeks. Finally, Nikki has finished the build of the main part of the Retribution bomber (I'm not letting her change the name anymore. This is final. Minor details still need to be done, at which point scripting will begin. [18:02:32] Ethan Schuman: There we go. [18:02:40] Ethan Schuman: That's all for Astra this week. [18:02:49] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports? [18:02:51] Radryl Allen raises his mace for Adstutia. [18:02:54] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Allen? [18:03:07] Radryl Allen: Good evening gentlemen, this is Adstutia here, I am here just to give another intro about us, explain what we do. But first of all, here are some basic informations that we collected during these weeks, they were slow but even so we got some stuff. [18:03:19] Radryl Allen: About EB, be REALLY REALLY careful if you are intending to lead raids there, Melina/Jukinha is know by being really rude, he may create new rules, find random excuses to ban people, he will not warn you, and if he does, he will give some random comment with a terrible english. I am warning about this because we had some people being banned there. Also they will use everything against us, break their own rules, especially primshooting, so when you decide to attack them, you know what kind of situation you are at. [18:03:47] Radryl Allen: Now a little about Adstutia, we deal with International Affairs, we are the "bridge" between the brazilian military organizations, we contact them and re-pass the important information to Ordo and Tactica ( in case of some sudden change) we also get people unbanned, on other words, we kind of do some diplomacy there, avoiding future problems with them (hurr dur I ban you). [18:04:04] Radryl Allen: That is all for now. Maces are awesome. [18:04:10] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you! [18:04:13] Kasumi Quartz raises his hand for IEA on behalf of Mr Itamae. [18:04:16] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Quartz. [18:04:28] Kasumi Quartz: For the Imperial Education Administration: Phenomenal turn around compared to last week. Schola pulled out 22 classes with plenty of cadets to spare. 6 classes for Armatura and lot of prospective new cadets to help that number next week. Big thanks to Mikeo and Kasumi for their efforts this week! [18:04:47] Kasumi Quartz: That aside Kasumi will also be helping me as I try to create a more standardized format for the Ludi. Overall we will be retooling the Imperial Ludi to be easier to access and offer more streamlined, relevant courses. If anyone has ideas they've been mulling over for a training course/class then this would be a good way to make it happen too. [18:04:57] Kasumi Quartz: Interested in teaching for the IEA? [18:05:23] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you! Moving on. [18:05:29] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Development [18:05:45] Aryte Vesperia: A couple of announcements to make this evening in regards to new technologies and items. First up, the AK-12 has entered scripting and testing phase. The weapon platform, thus far, is incredibly solid and looking to be a great replacement for the SCAR. Mr. Xiao has taken a particular interest in ensuring this weapon becomes the main battle rifle for the Ordo for the next five years-- filling the shoes of an otherwise tried and tested rifle. [18:06:21] Aryte Vesperia: Thus far, I can share with you that the ROF will be in the 700 vicinity--akin to the TI 416. Additionally, the weapon will feature the capability to adjust the spread between the laser-accurate SCAR style and a modest spread. Further, it will host tracer rounds for FTLs, a suppressed option (with more difficult to see rounds), and a UGL down the road. [18:06:45] Aryte Vesperia: Next up, Astra’s newest induction to their fleet is now in world-- despite undergoing a name change, the . . Hyperion, turned Redemption (Executor?) is coming along very, very nicely. The model is drop dead gorgeous and the overall plan for the craft fits very nicely into our modular theme. [18:07:08] Aryte Vesperia: To say in the least, I am incredibly excited to field the Hyperion-Redemption-Executor bomber thing. As mentioned, it will be a huge step up in armament capacity from the Thanatos. I shared the total list with the officer corps a couple weeks ago and I have to say there was a general sense of assignment over the sheer amount of dakka involved, haha. [18:07:12] Aryte Vesperia: (PS, AK in my hands.) [18:07:52] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Scheduling [18:08:06] Aryte Vesperia: On Wednesday I released an in depth schedule, detailing my day to day availability for all Ordo to see. You can find it here: http://forums.ordoimperialis.com/index.php?/topic/17938-aryte-vesperias-schedule/ [18:08:37] Aryte Vesperia: Please note I will be following this schedule fairly closely-- it is really important that I keep on task, as my commitments are rather vast on SL and off SL. I will make all available effort to accommodate special requests, but for the most part I will be sticking to the time slots as they are published. [18:08:57] Aryte Vesperia: The intent is to maximize the effectiveness of my time, give some structure to when folks should approach me about various items, and to help me accomplish some life goals (like sleeping more than a couple hours a day, hah). [18:09:48] Aryte Vesperia: If an issue is especially critical, you are always welcome to contact me. Otherwise, please respect the time slots: it will be a great help to me in managing things from a strategic stand point. [18:09:54] Aryte Vesperia: Movin' right along . . ~ [18:10:09] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Merczateers [18:10:30] Aryte Vesperia: Over this week, we have seen an influctuation of combat with the Merczateers. For the good of the team, I would like to address this and hammer out some confusion. [18:11:26] Aryte Vesperia: Foremost, the Mercz are our allies politically and in primary states: yes, we do combat, but at the end of the day we remain friends. That said, there are no expectations on either party’s side that we prior-warn before attacking one another, or treat one another unusually on the battlefield. [18:12:09] Aryte Vesperia: The Mercz did indeed team up with 2142 and CPC against us-- this was hosted by a raid leader in the Mercz who was summarily demoted yesterday. This was a combination of complaints against the individual from Mercz. From what I understand, he has since left the Mercz and joined 2142. [18:12:58] Aryte Vesperia: Nevertheless, if it occurs again in the future that the Mercz team up with another group against us: oh well. Beat ‘em handily like you’re expected to do. We should not find offense in this. It is simply an opportunity for the Ordo to demonstrate combat superiority against multiple forces. At the end of the days, as I’ve said, the Mercz are still our bros. [18:13:09] Aryte Vesperia: Neeeext . . [18:13:10] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ ZT [18:13:30] Aryte Vesperia: Per our usual routine, I am going to be instituting a zero tolerance period for the next week. This run will be slanted toward TS3 conduct. It is up and posted on the Curia section for review. [18:13:44] Aryte Vesperia: As a reminder, ZT periods are essentially a brief span of “remember you aren’t supposed to do X.” Just stick to your usual habits and pay attention to your mannerisms. Otherwise I’ll break your knees. No biggy. :) [18:14:12] Aryte Vesperia: NEXT. [18:14:13] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Game Nights [18:14:21] Aryte Vesperia: There has been a little resurgence of our ARMA / other random game nights for Friday and/or Saturday evening. Officially, I think that is pretty cool and see no issue with it. As I’ve said before, it is a great chance to unwind and so something as a team that does not involve SLMC. As a caveat, however: make sure we get our weekly tasks handled. Raids, participation--etc. [18:14:34] Aryte Vesperia: (IE: don't play ARMA instead of attending the meeting. :D) [18:14:52] Aryte Vesperia: If we are lookin’ good on participation, I have no problem locking the sim for a couple hours so we can all go game together. [18:15:05] Aryte Vesperia: As a side note to that: there have been some questions on “well, it is hard to get 3 raids on some days . . . what if we have 1 super good raid?” That is totally fine and will be taken in to consideration. Smashing the Mercz for 3 hours is worth more to me than 3 thirty minute raids. Just make sure we have the chance and opportunity to field our troops. [18:15:30] Aryte Vesperia: PHEW. OK! Sorry for the expedited meeting there. I am off! Be back in a couple of hours. Sim open, damage enabled. GO plunder. BYE. <3 [18:15:32] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:15:36] Zerowinged Vasiliev presents a clean salute, "Guardsman Vasiliev. . ."

(For those of you who have lost the link, here it is: http://firefoxinc.net/ordo/index.html ) [18:05:04] Hollowmengitus Yifu: And one last thing [18:05:09] Hollowmengitus Yifu: Nazz, approach me [18:05:35] AVA Rider(vehicle): You aren't the owner [18:05:42] 2P Seat: 2P: PageDown ... [18:06:06] Aryte Vesperia: I'd of thought it to be the other way around. [18:06:08] Aryte Vesperia: Mr. Schuman? [18:06:26] Ethan Schuman: Yay! Didn't have to raise my hand. Astra has the following information to report this week. Firstly, Letalis is recruiting. I think Twitchy is looking for two more members. Requirements include participating in at least two raids per week, as well as domestic training exercises and the like. Palaestra has been EXTREMELY busy with the launch of Icarus, as well as our normal recruitment numbers. For Reapers, Mikeo has filled the vacant XO slot, and has been settling in with his activity schedule. Achtai remains heavily occupied IRL, so this is good news for that flight. Things for Aquila were relatively quiet. Heavy and Havoc have both maintained a high level of participation across the board, so that keeps us up in that regard. The Thanatos replacement project is underway, with the build being near completion and texturing to begin immediately after. [18:06:44] Ethan Schuman: Finally, Rei has begun the process of clearing out our inactives. Those who have not been active in Astra before a set date (can't remember off the top of my head) have a limited amount of time to report in, or else they will be removed. [18:06:59] Ethan Schuman: That's all from Astra for this week. [18:07:36] Aryte Vesperia: Thank you. Any additional reports for the evening? [18:08:19] Aryte Vesperia: Moving on, then! [18:08:28] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Updates [18:08:55] Aryte Vesperia: We will be spending the majority of this evening on the keynote. Prior to that, however, I would like to quickly run down some updates and announce an appointment or two. [18:09:44] Aryte Vesperia: First up, we are expecting the alpha build layout of the new region to begin shortly. Disembodied Hand slated initial transition of the test to mesh forms as of the 15th. Thus far, I have seen a couple models and am expecting some great things as the build is fleshed out. As is, I have not heard any updates on that front and will be keeping in contact with Disembodied as that deadline rapidly approaches. [18:10:54] Aryte Vesperia: Weaponry wise: new TI release in the vendors—yes, you may use it despite it being a pole arm. Further, looking to focus primary development efforts now in to the AK-12 to get it scripted and in deployment to replace the SCAR. Even greater, we are starting to discuss pixels and particles for the various archetype items awaiting scripting love. [18:12:31] Aryte Vesperia: You can expect the sniper rifle replacement to roll out here shortly. There are no additional tweaks to be made and it is ready to go. It’s a neat little toy that will give some bite back to the concept of carrying a slow fire marksman rifle. [18:14:12] Aryte Vesperia: In other news, the Hyperion (bomber) is coming along /amazingly/. When Nikki so desires awesome, she produces it. I am extraordinarily excited to see this new bird come on line. We need something with such a severe bite to counteract a lot of our issues that we run in to day-to-day—items we typically can’t rationalize bringing up an Enforcer for. [18:15:09] Aryte Vesperia: And finally. Tsume Xiao is taking over Munitorum. Dooooom. [18:16:46] Aryte Vesperia: ✠ Keynote [18:17:04] Aryte Vesperia: I would consider this less of a speech, and more of a ramble of my thoughts. Nevertheless, I wanted to share with you all some things that I have been chewing on as of late on a more succinct and realistic level. [18:18:19] Aryte Vesperia: For anyone who has known me for more than a month, you’ve likely realized I have a particular sense of worry . . . at all times, about this group. It has been an incredible adventure for me and a time investment that, in all rights, rivals my professional and educational careers. Tomorrow I “turn” 7 on SL. Six of those years have been spent here or preparing for what “here” is. [18:19:26] Aryte Vesperia: I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. I have learned so much and met so many people who have enriched my life and taught me valuable life lessons—lessons I have applied elsewhere and used to great success. I am losing track of how many of you exceed one year. That’s impressive. Even two, three, and four years. There are a handful of you who have had the opportunity to be here from the start. We have, in every right, really “grown up” together. [18:20:32] Aryte Vesperia: The reason I bring this up? To put the bigger picture back on the table. To remind everyone, including myself, the greater things we have the chance to experience because of the Ordo. [18:21:20] Aryte Vesperia: Sure. We have and will always have our speed bumps, our differences, and our bad days. You will never be able to put more than one person in a room and avoid all potential for conflict. It is not the conflict that is important: it is how you handle that, how you overcome it, and how you improve after it. [18:23:23] Aryte Vesperia: Not many of us here came in to this group knowing what the results would be. I didn’t join up with the intent to be where I am standing today—far from it. I expected to be a pointless diplomat to a back-water group named the ANII. I thought it was a joke (and many times, it was). I made some amazing friends in that process, and when opportunity presented itself, I stuck my neck out and took a risk. [18:24:47] Aryte Vesperia: That risk has given me so much. A lot of hard work, some grey hairs, and a total desire to murder most people on SL—buuuut on the positive side, hundreds of amazing people I look forward to interacting with every day. [18:27:28] Aryte Vesperia: Think about it. Think about the people you “hang out” with inside the Ordo. There are groups of you who have become incredibly close knit friends—to the point where you’ve got a real sense of dedication to one another (beyond even group levels) that would have never come to be without this group. [18:29:02] Aryte Vesperia: That fascinates me. It always has. I love simply sitting back and counting the blessings (and the curses) to really line up the chain of events that has put us here today. [18:30:14] Aryte Vesperia: Let me tell you, no bullshit aside: the path is paved with a lot of errors. It’s paved with a lot of disenchanted folks and people who could not care to ever see this group again. But most of those folks made that decision for themselves. Hell. Some of them, who may be our most bitter enemies now, would not have anything should we decide to close up shop one day and hit the trail. [18:31:10] Aelus Janus coughs "Dagger" coughs. [18:31:34] Aryte Vesperia: I hope everyone really takes the time to just look around. This is such a phenomenal thing we’ve done. Now, I do not say that to pat myself on the back or gloat on behalf of the group. I say it with the most humble of commendations: we have done amazing things. [18:32:47] Aryte Vesperia: I do not suspect that we have reached the peak of our golden years. Not by a long shot. To be blunt, I really do not feel as if there’s a “golden year.” That’s up to you as a group to define and as an organization to persist and build. If our fire continues, we can have a “golden decade” or two. [18:34:30] Aryte Vesperia: In brutal honesty, let’s really just get it out there: the military community blows. Most people are so hostile and just downright ridiculous. Our interactions are largely negative (and always have been). It is such a small niche in SL. One that, realistically, is probably dying. I would’ve ditched this corner of the grid many years ago, if not for you all. [18:35:55] Aryte Vesperia: That’s really why I feel so keen on pushing that aspect of the group: we are our own community. We’ll participate in the SLMC, but the Ordo is and must be more than a “SLMC group.” Not specifically through action, but through mindset. [18:37:06] Aryte Vesperia: Ever heard the saying: “Me against my brother. Me and my brother against my cousin; me, my brother, and my cousin against the other?” It rings so true here. We have feuds. We bicker sometimes. But at the end of the day, all we’ve really got is one another. [18:38:24] Aryte Vesperia: Be keen on ensuring those bonds are stronger than anything else. Protect your group. Protect your friends and the continuity of what we’ve got here. With such a foundation, we will remain an immoveable force. [18:40:01] Aryte Vesperia: Before we break for the evening, I do want to simply express my gratitude for being here as part of this adventure. Seven years on SL. I wouldn’t have made it past two without you all. So, thank you for being here. (On an amusing note, it’s also your entire fault that I didn’t quit a long time ago, thus plaguing the SLMC for the last six years. Good job!) [18:40:55] Aryte Vesperia: The commitment and dedication demonstrated by this group never ceases to amaze me. There will always be a special place in my heart for the Ordo, no matter where life takes us down the road. Here’s to a many more good times! [18:41:34] Aryte Vesperia: Dismissed! [18:41:35] Aryte Vesperia snaps his fist to his chest, presenting a brief salute. [18:41:36] Digman Randt salutes. [18:41:37] conger Mint salutes!
